One of the best books on empowerment I have ever read. So good in fact that I'm taking a second turn through it working methodically through the prompts and questions. The author gets raw and vulnerable about her own experience about what lead her to seek something more that lit up her soul. The writing is sharp, soothing and brutally honest. It's almost as if she takes your hand to say "let's do this together" while simultaneously puts her hand on your back to say "I've got you."
I've never felt more seen, heard, understood, valued, encouraged and supported to seek my own truth on what lights up my soul than after reading this book. As a working and volunteering mom of two very active kids, my “why” has fallen off the priority list leaving me frustrated, anxious, and sometimes lost. The times I have muttered “is this all there is?” far exceed my sense of accomplishment and pride in following my heart and feeling in alignment with my calling. Seeking is the catalyst for turning inward with a sense of tenderness and trust that the best is yet to come if you believe it to be true and listen to what your soul is whispering and your heart is tugging you to do.
Through her vulnerability, experiences and guidance the author quiets the inner critic and replaces that disparaging voice with a sense of confidence and restored belief in your capability to find your why. The book walks the reader through common triggers that keep women small: the complicated relationships with our mothers, the limiting beliefs women hold about money, the need to stay busy to feel accomplished but that leave us feeling depleted, and the unintended idea that our worth should come at the expense of our family’s needs.

JJ's voice is both personable and powerful. She shares practical tips that you can work into your very real life. I've put many of her strategies into practice and have experienced significant shifts in my mindset, and in the results I am seeing. JJ really breaks things down to make your passion project thinking a reality. I loved Seeking, the author speaks from her heart. It’s inspiring! You won’t look at life the same from the moment you start to read, the wheels will be turning!

Even after writing, reading, rewriting, editing, and writing again, I still find so many nuggets in each chapter. I am still amazed at how each key finding emerged through the various stories, insights, and chapters. I am honored these words came through me and look forward to seeing where it will go.
