About the author

Amanda Jenkins, before life as a homemaker and mother of four, worked in sales and marketing for a number of Christian retailers, as well as in visual communications and advertising. She spent ten years in L.A. alongside her film-making husband, surrounded by plastic surgery and high-falutin’ lifestyles, which is where she became convicted and inspired to write about her struggle with perfectionism. Amanda attended Northwestern Bible College and graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies and Communications. She has taught Bible studies for women of all ages for the past 14 years, and is passionate about communicating truth in a culturally relevant and humorous way. Today, she lives just outside of Chicago with her husband, Dallas, and their four young children, including their newly adopted son. She is also the daughter-in-law of Jerry B. Jenkins.

This is the first of these study guides that I have read--there is one for each season of the show The Chosen. It does an amazing job of complimenting the shows and the messages that each season brings. Very thought provoking, and yet wise in simplicity. Great discussion questions, or reflective questions if you are just reading it on your own. Worthy reading, for sure!

The Chosen series studies that go along with the series TV show is amazing! For anyone who wants to go a little bit deeper and grow their faith stronger , these books are for you! I would encourage watching the show with a small group or a friend and discussing the study guide! Of course, it can be done alone but other discussions make it so much richer! A must have!!!

I was bought this as a gift and delayed doing it as I’m fussy and thought it might be a bit light…I really enjoyed this though.

Provoking questions. Passages to read from different parts of the Bible and application. The prayers at the end of each study are beautifully written too.

It’s still not the most detail compared to a Bible study on a specific book or topic.

Though not quite as cohesive as the second one, this third season Bible study was still much better than the first one! I got a lot out of all the extra notes in the margin "for Bible nerds like us who want to know." 😄 The questions weren't always worded clearly, but on the whole, it was pretty good.

Excellent reference

I enjoy reading the lessons that correspond with the video/episodes to get the old and new testament background. It is also helpful for reflecting on the deeper spiritual things presented in the series.
