Summary:

Fejo wants nothing more than to have a wife to cherish, but his come-and-go lifestyle as the captain of a merchant spaceship makes him an undesirable choice for Clecanian females. So when the gorgeous human Vanessa chooses him as her husband, Fejo is ecstatic. He doesn't know how he got so lucky, but he will do everything in his power to keep her. Unfortunately, his sharp-tongued bride is reluctant to accept his kindness - and pleasure - making him wonder why she chose him in the first place.
Vanessa’s plan was simple. Until she started falling for her ridiculously charming husband. Now, she has to figure out how to get home without breaking Fejo’s heart—or her own.
My Thoughts:
I think this may be my favorite story in the series! I need to reread Saving Verakko to see which wins the spot for my #1!
I felt so many things while reading this story. My heart ached for Fejo and Vanessa’s insecurities and past. I laughed so many times because of their stubbornness, the banter, and Fejo’s ridiculous humor. My pussy throbbed throughout the entire story because of the smoldering sexual tension and many explosive sex scenes. And I felt so much adrenaline during the end fight scenes.
I've seriously fallen in love with Fejo and adore Vanessa. Because of their past traumas, they both feel unworthy of love and struggle with vulnerability. But they decide to take a chance on each other. After some misunderstandings/truths are revealed, they start to see each other for who they truly are underneath the persona they offer the world - Fejo with his pomp and bravado and Vanessa with her rough, bitchy demeanor. It’s a beautiful, comical, sexy story about two people who take a chance on love.
This is the spiciest book so far! Loads of incredible tension and many sex scenes. We even get some 69 action, and he calls her 'his good female.' 🥵
Every time Fejo calls Vanessa 'little wife' or 'little mate,' my freaking heart melts. Why is he the most adorable, sweet, charming, sexy male character I've ever read about!
Vanessa and Fejo discover they are mates relatively early on, and neither fight it, which is a nice change. In the previous stories, the other couples take forever to either recognize or accept the bond. But Fejo and Vanessa are just so in-sync and fall in love so easily.
The subplot about getting Vanessa to earth and the conflict that happens towards the end was amazing! I continue to be blown away by the world-building and development of the overarching series plotline. I’m excited to see how this storyline progresses with the other human females and their prospective mates.
Overall, this was such a fun story that kept me on my toes! If you aren't reading this series, you're missing out. It's free on Kindle Unlimited, so what are you waiting for?????

I felt so many things while reading this story. My heart ached for Fejo and Vanessa’s insecurities and past. I laughed so many times because of their stubbornness, the banter, and Fejo’s ridiculous humor. *sigh* It’s time to give up on this series.
This is such a shame because I was so looking forward to reading about Fejo, and I did enjoy both his character and the heroine, Vanessa, too. But there are some overarching themes to this series that are getting on my nerves, so much so that it’s interfering with my ability to enjoy any installment at this point.
The first is this very irritating worldbuilding theme that’s actually so common in alien romance: what I tend to think of as the ”false matriarchy” setup. This alien society is cast as a matriarchy, one specifically set up to honor and cherish women, but it’s just a super thin veneer over what is actually a patriarchy set up to serve men’s needs.
If you take two seconds to think about the system these Clecanians have created, it’s obvious that it’s made to keep women perpetually unhappy and socially unmoored, treated as nothing more than a womb to be filled with babies, all so that the most men possible can get a chance at female companionship. And yet the author constantly tells us to pity the men in this system, because they’re the ones who have to work hard to be “worthy” of the women whose attention they’re vying for. It’s unfortunate.
I’m not opposed to authors creating alien societies that are sexist and/or gender essentialist (that is to say: bordering on transphobic) and exploring those issues in a society very different from our own. HOWEVER. I’d like the author to at least be self-aware of the kind of world they’re creating. This to me felt like the author’s own biases bleeding into the Clecanian world unconsciously, and that’s really hard to read when it’s being sold to me as escapism.
The second theme that really gets on my nerves here is the heroine having to bend over backwards to accommodate the hero’s insecurities or emotional immaturity. I’ve read three of these books now, and every one of them had a plot point like this. The hero is possessive, demanding, selfish, insecure, even downright mean—this is usually blamed on past trauma or the mate bond that apparently drives men crazy—and the heroine has to put up with all this and change her own behavior to accommodate it.
In this book, Vanessa is trying her best to return to Earth to take custody of her dying sister’s daughter, because if she can’t, her niece will go to the custody of her sister’s abusive ex. Clearly that’s incredibly important and needs to be a priority above any adult’s feelings about the matter.
And yet the entire plot revolves around Vanessa first tiptoeing around this issue with Fejo, and then trying to make Fejo feel better because he’s upset that this means she might have to leave him behind to raise her niece. WTF?! How are Fejo’s hurt feelings even a point of discussion when there’s a child who might end up abused?! Do you see why I get distinct patriarchal vibes off all these books?????
There’s also a trend across books in which the heroes use sexual humiliation to punish their wives for perceived slights against them (usually involving their insecurities and hurt feelings). This is not treated as a kink involving safety measures like safe words, which makes it just downright sexual harassment. It’s never acknowledged as such.
In book 1, Theo forces the FMC to bathe naked with him after she makes him suspicious of her. In this book, Fejo demands that Vanessa undress for him because he’s angry about her plans to return to Earth. I don’t have a degradation kink, but I’d venture a guess that the author has one. So again, PLEASE be self-aware about this and GIVE YOUR READERS APPROPRIATE CONTENT WARNINGS.
Soooo this is one alien romance series I need to drop…back to the Drixonians it is -_-

The Story: Usually when Fejo enters the marriage lottery, several women want to test him every year but never pick him. So when Vanessa seems interested in marrying him, he thinks if he treats her well enough, she would want to stay with him forever. He was tired of women who only wanted him for what they could get from him.
Little did he know that the very reason Vanessa was choosing him because he owned a ship and was known for being able to get in and out of dangerous places. Since it was unlawful to land on Earth, Vanessa was hoping that by marrying Fejo, she would be able to get back to Earth. One of her friends set up a meeting on one of the ports where the ship stops, between her and a ship that could take her back to Earth.
The book is told in dual points of view via solo narration. Like the rest of the books in this series, it was narrated by Stephen Dexter who does a great job. He has a very pleasing tone and does different voices for the different characters. I have really been liking this series since each book takes place in a completely different setting, it has been like traveling the universe and seeing all the sights as I read each one.
I liked the story and really liked Fejo. He was strong, dominant and caring. Vanessa seemed a bit selfish, but her sister is dying and she really does have a good reason for wanting to get back to Earth.

YAAAAAAAAAWN!
Fejo deserved someone better than Vanessa. And that's a fact. She spent majority of the book showing Fejo a cold shoulder, being rude, judgemental or sulking. All Fejo wanted was a companion whom he can count on to never leave him behind. He seemed very much like Theo at that instance, both reaching out for love only to be disappointed.
So when you're told all that and then you have to see Vanessa being selfish even after Fejo showed her his vulnerability, you honestly cannot tell me that you didn't feel like scoffing.
Even if Fejo was quick to forgive her & he reasoned that she lied for a “noble” cause, it was just whatever. I respect the author, and I really do enjoy all her works but this one didn't work for me. Vanessa was hard to like. She made the whole book have a mopey feel to it.
This is disappointing since I had looked forward to reading Fejo's book ever since he had made an appearance in Choosing Theo. And now, this one has become my least favourite installment in the entire series. Didn't help in the least that I constantly felt like leaving this unfinished, halfway.

First of all, if you haven’t read the Clecanian series, start binging now. This is one of my FAVORITE fated mates interconnected stand-alone series. I highly recommend each one. They’re SO page flipping good!
Second, Fejo has officially run off with my heart. I just finished this book an hour ago and I was compelled to immediately confess my devotion to this man. Wow, he’s incredible! I wasn’t sure Theo could be beat, but Victoria proved me wrong.
Third, I’ll be back with a more detailed review soon. Just know THIS BOOK IS EPIC AND YOU NEED TO READ IT!

Sexy alien space pirate… with a man bun, and lots of knives. 👀 And somehow he’s also a hopeless romantic?!?! 😏 I can’t really explain how this all works, it’s just does.
There’s definitely a lot more depth to Fejo, but he really pulls off the whole “Feed me, fuck me, and tell me I’m pretty” thing going on here, 😂 and honestly I’m not mad about it. A wonderful blend of the other tropes I loved in this book would have to be: “only one bed” (but on a spaceship), marriage of convenience, forced proximity, he falls first, touch her and die, and good ol’ grumpy x sunshine.

Since her abduction, Vanessa only has one goal; go back to Earth. The only problem is that she is not allowed to go back, as per rule of Class 4 Planets that are still deemed not advanced enough to properly travel space, and should be left alone until they can. Vanessa and her friends work out a plan for her to meet with a captain willing to illegally bring her back to Earth. But how will she get from Clecania to that port without being detected? When Fejo, the captain of a ship, participates in the matchmaking Ceremony to find a wife that will be ready to travel in space with him, Vanessa finds her ticket...
I took some time to write this review as I was trying to put my thoughts together. Did I enjoy the premise? Absolutely not. I've never liked when characters manipulate others to achieve something, ignoring the hurt they can cause, and will cause when the truth comes out. This constant feeling of when the ball will drop is awful because you know it's coming one way or another. It's just a question of when and where. So the first half of this book was pretty dreadful to me. BUT did the story get any better in the second half? Yes. And thank God it did. Which is the main reason why I was able to push through and even enjoy some parts of the story. Although the transition mid-way was pretty jarring and didn't make much sense, it was most welcomed.
My biggest issue, and you've probably guessed it by now was Vanessa. She was super gloomy and bitchy. This heroine was everything I dislike in a main heroine. Although the reason as to why she wanted to return to Earth so badly was valid, I just feel like the way she manipulated and lied was pretty despicable, no matter how she kept saying she felt guilty for doing so. She was stubborn and in a way, very selfish. The pretty jarring transition that I was talking about is actually her reaction to being Fejo's mate. Of all the heroines in previous books, she had to be the one who was super understanding of it and who accepted bond without any push back. How frustrating is that? I thought she'd be the last one to even consider it, because, wouldn't being mated only complicate things for her who wanted to go back to Earth at all cost? BUT, after the first half of the book that had drained me of all energy, I wasn't going to complain since Vanessa finally and magically became more bearable and reasonable.
As for Fejo, I also had a hard time to like him at first. He was very confident and cocky but not even in a charming way. He was also a bit of a player before meeting Vanessa. He participated to the matchmaking Ceremony every time he could even if he was never chosen to be a husband, but he'd still have his fun before leaving to do his work in space, for months. The brides were only picking him for the 'testing', which allowed intimacy and touching. (Yes, more people using him and not choosing him). Even if he knew deep down there wouldn't be a female who would ever pick him since most brides didn't want to travel in space, he still craved to be chosen every time. Therefore, when his dream finally came true, he was absolutely elated and wanting to prove himself. Too bad the one who picked him was also using him. You can only imagine his reaction when he learned the truth. Thankfully, when his mating marks appeared, he became pretty likeable. He was able to be himself, and he was a generous lover, protective and possessive.
I really don't know what to think of this book. I like this series, even if it can be frustrating at times but this one was just not my cup of tea at all. The main characters had a nice chemistry in the second half but in the first half I didn't feel the tension or desires between them. I feel like it could've been a very good story, especially with this newer setting happening in space. I just couldn't get behind the whole manipulation trope. Definitely my least favorite in the whole series so far. It's the only one I would skip if I were to reread the books. Anyways, I talk a lot of crap because I'm being honest with everything I disliked but it was nice to finally know why Vanessa had wanted to go back to Earth so badly and to see the conclusion of it. I did feel invested in the second half of the book, up until the very end (which felt a bit rushed and cut short, I wanted a proper epilogue). With all the action and even the characters getting closer was pretty sweet. And since the author kept me on my toes as to how it would end, I decided to rate this book positively. But let's say it's hanging on the 3 stars with one finger.
Since her abduction, Vanessa only has one goal; go back to Earth. The only problem is that she is not allowed to go back, as per rule of Class 4 Planets that are still deemed not advanced enough to properly travel space, and should be left alone until they can. Vanessa and her friends work out a plan for her to meet with a captain willing to illegally bring her back to Earth. But how will she get from Clecania to that port without being detected? When Fejo, the captain of a ship, participates in the matchmaking Ceremony to find a wife that will be ready to travel in space with him, Vanessa finds her ticket...
I took some time to write this review as I was trying to put my thoughts together. Did I enjoy the premise? Absolutely not. I've never liked when characters manipulate others to achieve something, ignoring the hurt they can cause, and will cause when the truth comes out. This constant feeling of when the ball will drop is awful because you know it's coming one way or another. It's just a question of when and where. So the first half of this book was pretty dreadful to me. BUT did the story get any better in the second half? Yes. And thank God it did. Which is the main reason why I was able to push through and even enjoy some parts of the story. Although the transition mid-way was pretty jarring and didn't make much sense, it was most welcomed.
“I can’t let you go, Vanessa,” he growled into her skin. “I know you don’t feel it, but you’re mine now. I’m yours. I can’t… I won’t…”
My biggest issue, and you've probably guessed it by now was Vanessa. She was super gloomy and bitchy. This heroine was everything I dislike in a main heroine. Although the reason as to why she wanted to return to Earth so badly was valid, I just feel like the way she manipulated and lied was pretty despicable, no matter how she kept saying she felt guilty for doing so. She was stubborn and in a way, very selfish. The pretty jarring transition that I was talking about is actually her reaction to being Fejo's mate. Of all the heroines in previous books, she had to be the one who was super understanding of it and who accepted bond without any push back. How frustrating is that? I thought she'd be the last one to even consider it, because, wouldn't being mated only complicate things for her who wanted to go back to Earth at all cost? BUT, after the first half of the book that had drained me of all energy, I wasn't going to complain since Vanessa finally and magically became more bearable and reasonable.

As for Fejo, I also had a hard time to like him at first. He was very confident and cocky but not even in a charming way. He was also a bit of a player before meeting Vanessa. He participated to the matchmaking Ceremony every time he could even if he was never chosen to be a husband, but he'd still have his fun before leaving to do his work in space, for months. The brides were only picking him for the 'testing', which allowed intimacy and touching. (Yes, more people using him and not choosing him). Even if he knew deep down there wouldn't be a female who would ever pick him since most brides didn't want to travel in space, he still craved to be chosen every time. Therefore, when his dream finally came true, he was absolutely elated and wanting to prove himself. Too bad the one who picked him was also using him. You can only imagine his reaction when he learned the truth. Thankfully, when his mating marks appeared, he became pretty likeable. He was able to be himself, and he was a generous lover, protective and possessive.
He could finally have someone. A companion. Someone who didn’t look at him and only see what they could get.
I really don't know what to think of this book. I like this series, even if it can be frustrating at times but this one was just not my cup of tea at all. The main characters had a nice chemistry in the second half but in the first half I didn't feel the tension or desires between them. I feel like it could've been a very good story, especially with this newer setting happening in space. I just couldn't get behind the whole manipulation trope. And it wasn't only the heroine but also some side characters as well.

Using Fejo is the fifth book in The Clecanian Series, and it is as epically exciting and romantic as the others! Fejo is a swoon-worthy hero, and I absolutely adored him. He yearns for acceptance and belonging, and beneath that overt, jaunty, confident, arrogant demeanor is a cinnamon roll! There are so many layers to his character, each one more intriguing and alluring than the one before. Most appealing are his feelings for Vanessa and the way he works to show her how deeply he cares throughout the story. It’s actually one of the things I like most about this series. The males are so dedicated to ensuring the happiness of their women, and the lengths they go to achieve this goal are positively swoon-worthy.
It took a bit longer for Vanessa to endear herself to me. Where Fejo is positive and bright, Vanessa is acerbic and angry. She hates being vulnerable, which makes it difficult for anyone to get close. Their relationship definitely has grumpy/sunshine vibes. However, the more you learn about Vanessa’s past and what she left behind, the more you relate to her. Plus, she’s a badass! She stands up for herself and those she loves, she puts herself at risk to protect others, and she is one of the most determined heroines in the series. I mean, this woman was abducted from Earth for nefarious purposes and was told she could never return to all that she knows. That’s a tough pill to swallow, especially when you leave things, and people, you love behind. Vanessa goes on such an emotional journey, as well as a physical journey, throughout the story, and it is interesting g to see how she reconciles her determination to return to earth with her new and ever-growing feelings toward Fejo.
Because of their pasts, both Fejo and Vanessa struggle with insecurities, feelings of unworthiness, and the desire to belong. Neither likes to be vulnerable, and they’ve both erected some pretty strong walls. I love how they find each other, though at much different paces. I think they see a bit of themselves in each other, though they hide their pain much differently. They have such a wonderful, angst-filled, obstacle-ridden romance, and I loved it!
Though the other books take place on Clecania, this story takes place primarily off-planet. The author’s skill at expanding this unique and immersive universe continues to impress me. New planets, species, customs, and spacecraft are explored and are so fascinating. Between the world-building, the heart-pounding action, the dangerous situations they find themselves in, the political intrigue, and a sexy romance, it is an immersive and exciting read.
It’s not often I see my first name in literature, so imagine my delight when I saw that one of the character’s names was Julie! All of my dreams have come true! I’ve said on my blog several times that I would love to be taken to Clecania and have a hot alpha male cater to my every wish. These males go to school to learn how to best take care of their mates in every way possible – cooking, cleaning, and so much more. What I would’ve given for one of these males during the COVID lockdowns. Lol. Now, I can live vicariously through Julie, and I’m hopeful that she has her own story in one of the future books in the series. Julie also has a sweet daughter who easily captures the hearts of everyone, and her interactions with Fejo and his crew are so endearing and adorable.
I thought this was a fantastic addition to the series, and I’m so thrilled to have received an advanced copy from the author. This is one of my favorite sci-fi romance series, and I feel like each book is as compelling, swoon-worthy, and immersive as its predecessor. I highly recommend the book and series to readers who enjoy stories with great world and character building, tons of excitement and action, and steamy love stories.

i had a lot of fun with this book, i loved the idea of Fejo being a space pirate and his charming personality carried through. Vanessa has a lot of determination and was one of the more steadfast fmc’s of the series. i think her and Fejo had great chemistry, there was just something about Fejo that was kinda irresistible to her whether she wanted to admit that or not. he was a breath of fresh air cause for once we didn’t just get a broody and stern alien, he was very witty and charismatic. the only thing that kind of annoyed me is how the third act focused on how Fejo felt hurt and “used” by Vanessa, but her need to get back to her niece and sister was very urgent and i really didn’t see why the focus was on him in that scenario instead of her. i’m glad he got over himself though and supported Vanessa regardless, he’s probably my fav mmc after Theo now (i don’t think anyone will beat Theo for me).

Waah I had so much fun with this one! 🤭
This couple had a little something extra in their romance that I quite liked. Maybe it was Vanessa's bitchy attitude with a soft center and snark, or Fejo's flamboyant charm hiding his deep need to be needed---but I really felt for both of their backstories and motivations making this a good read.
Will look out for the next book in this series~!

I adored parts of this book – especially Fejo and he really broke my heart.
Fejo, as the title implies, has been used by many in his life. This doesn’t darken his spark and he has this amazingly engaging, confident, sweet, and playful personality that is so endearing. And so of course I struggled with this heroine that had REASONS but also just kept hurting him.
I think the hardest part of this book was that Fejo wanted love so badly – and some of the sex scenes just felt like he was begging her to love him and I disliked that. It gave the scenes a bit of ick factor in the background that niggled at me – I felt like he deserved a bit better – more solid acceptance and more confidence in her love for him.
But overall I really adored this book. This book pulled on my heart a bit more than some of the others and I liked that we were on a spaceship road trip vibe. I’ve really enjoyed this series so far!

4.25 ⭐️ Two lonely souls find each other… and it’s such a fun mess!
This book was great, but weird. For the most part we follow Vanessa, and her main quest to get back to Earth after being abducted by aliens. Her sister’s very sick, she had less than a year to live, and as her only live relative, so her and Vanessa were pretty close. The night she was abducted though, Vanessa got into a fight with her sister and never got to apologize (plus some other surprises I won’t spoil), so Vanessa is extra adamant in making her journey back, even if it’s extremely illegal and highly likely that she’ll die in the process. Enter Fejo, sexy pirate-alien who can travel in and out of the planet without much fuss. Sounds like a match made in heaven, right? Well, it would’ve been if Vanessa would’ve been honest since the beginning. But where’s the fun in that? So, we go through a lot of misinformation / miscommunication and deceit, which are not my favourite tropes, but it went really well with the story, so it didn’t bother me all that much.
Now, on to what did bother me… I wanted so much more from that. I feel like the questions and tension were barely resolved by the last page.
Still, the book was amazing. I’m mainly a romance reader, and since I read books because of the romance, I gave this one four stars. I really do think Vanessa and Fejo are made for each other - really, top-tier romance. The three spicy peppers and the extra 0.25 are mostly because of alien appendages and fun modifications and implants to them… yes, I said what I said.
Definitely one of the strongest in the series, probably my most anticipated one - and it delivered!

Fejo FTW! Not only is he charming AF, but he actually wanted to be married and make his wife happy (unlike some of the other MMCs in this series 🤨). As a matter of fact - with his desire for a mate, his tortured history, and easy charm - he's a bit like my OTL, Naasir from Archangel's Enigma.
This is tied with Choosing Theo for my series favorite. Fejo actually wins as top MMC, but the plot here is a bit messier.
A small bit of OW drama that bugged me a LOT: While Vanessa and Fejo are in the "testing room", I waited the whole damn book IN VAIN for that misunderstanding to be cleared up 😖.

I didn’t think I’d be rating 'Captain Jack Sparrow but make it aliens' this low but here we are.
An unlikeable FMC and a way too horny alien with a sad back story. Actually they both had sad back stories but Vanessa's was much sadder so it made what she did to Fejo okay.
The plot was repetitive and their story didn't really add anything to the world. I'm also getting slightly annoyed that we're pushed to think that this is a matriarchal society when really... it's far from it. The female aliens are expected to marry multiple men throughout their lives to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have a child. Women that choose to stay with their husbands are looked down upon in society, because a women's happiness should be second to a man having a child.
The worst in the series so far unfortunately.

An unlikeable FMC and a way too horny alien with a sad back story. Actually they both had sad back stories but Vanessa's was much sadder so it made what she did to Fejo okay.
The plot was repetitive and their story didn't really add anything to the world. I'm also getting slightly annoyed that we're pushed to think that this is a matriarchal society when really... it's far from it. The female aliens are expected to marry multiple men throughout their lives to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have a child. Women that choose to stay with their husbands are looked down upon in society, because a women's happiness should be second to a man having a child.
The worst in the series so far unfortunately.

A few people told me this was their favorite in the series but I don't really know if it reached that level for me. I definitely liked Fejo and his backstory and the suspense part was pretty exciting, but while I understooooood Vanessa's drive to get back home I didn't like it, lol. I think I just prefer heroine's who are totally down to get dicked by aliens and don't want to go back to Earth.
Still, the ending was worth all the angst and I'm totally here for more of that action from future books.

Феджо — самотній капітан космічного корабля, який на перший погляд здається занадто самовпевненим, зухвалим і безтурботним ловеласом. Але за цією безтурботністю ховається хлопчик, якого всі завжди використовували, ніколи не обирали і не ставили на перше місце. Навіть важко описати який же він хороший чоловік, розуміючий, терплячий і захисний. А як він зрадів, коли Ванесса його обрала🥺, як намагався зробити її щасливою і задовільнити всіма способами😏 Просто найбільша булочка з корицею з усіх чоловіків.
Мені дуже сподобалося як розвивалися стосунки Феджо і Ванесси. Перші 30% книги не викликали особливого захвату, але з моменту, коли герої почали відкриватися один одному і між ними зникли всі таємниці і недомовленості, я не могла відірватися. Чесність, вразливість, бажання захистити один одного попри будь-які перешкоди, усвідомлення, того, що бути порізно не варіант і існує лише один шлях — разом.
Я навіть не чекала появи міток, а просто насолоджувалася історією та захоплювалася героями. Феджо і Ванесса однозначно стали моїми фаворитами, дуже полюбила їхню пару.
Фантазія в авторки працює як треба, скажу я вам. Як вже згадувала в попередньому відгуку, сцени 18+ аж ніяк не одноманітні і тут також додається одна дуже цікава деталь😈 Цікаво, що буде в наступних книгах😁

This was just as good as I hoped it would be! Might even be my favorite. 🖤
After a slew of sullen grumpy males, Fejo the charmer was a much needed change. Most of the human females seem to have acclimated relatively easily to their new home and have accepted that they won’t be able to return to earth. While I can understand the appeal for most of them, I appreciated Vanessa’s determination to get back home, especially once I understood her urgency.
As I learned more about both of their backstories, it became clear that they were very well matched even without the confirmation that they were mates. For many of the other couples it felt more like lust than true connection and since it seems like every man on this planet is a ten I have found myself wanting a little more from the storylines. Happily the author finally delivered with this couple!
These are my favorite palate cleasers. I really don’t know what I’ll do when I finish them. 🥲

з усіх п'яти книжок тут головний герой – найбільша булочка з корицею, хоча образ у нього був досить зухвалий і самовпевнений. у деяких моментах я думала, що він покаже, так би мовити, не найкращу сторону, але він тримався і завжди, навіть коли все було проти нього, був на стороні Ванесси. з її сторони потяг було неможливо заперечити, бо все ж на поверхні. я рада, шо вона швидко зрозуміла, що до чого. далі я лише насолоджувалася їхнім дуетом.
з'явилося багато нових крутих персонажів. ще немає, але, можливо, будуть або ж хоча б буде згадана їхня доля в наступних книжках – дуже хочеться дізнатися історію.

General Review for the Series:
While each book in the series tells a different story, they all follow the same core formula: an Earth girl gets kidnapped and ends up mated to an alien who also happens to be her fated soulmate. Some books I enjoyed more than others, depending on the tropes involved, but overall I liked the writing style. If you're looking for a fun, cute alien romance series, this one might be exactly what you're after.

This book was another great addition to this series! Victoria Aveline just knows how to write the most swoon-worthy guys. Though Fejo is not my favorite guy, he is a close second. I can't wait for the next installment in this excellent series!

Me after finding out about his past: just *TEARS* and the desire for him to have love intensifies .
My heart actually could not take it. I love him, your honor.
Now this FMC's desire to go back to Earth? Warranted. After I found out why she wants to go back so bad, I couldn't fault her for it. Especially because after some relationship things come to light and she says she never meant to return permanently? I'm not mad at you, Vanessa.
But the fact that the Earth trip happened in a few pages in the epilogue? Questionable. How could it be so easy lmao.
Other than that, this was so good! I liked the change of scenery, the unique alien characteristics, the found family! This series just gets better and better!

Based on feelings alone this book should have been a 5 star read but it's getting 3.5.
I was giggling, kicking my feet and smiling at my Ipad like a fool while reading 😊🥰
Fejo our MMC is gawdy, excessive, flirtatious, and extremely charming. This is normally not my type whatsoever but he puts on this front to hide his true self. He secretly wants to be loved and is lonely despite always being surrounded by so many people. I'm such a sucker for broken fictional men.. gahhhhhh
Vanessa our FMC is uptight, bitchy, and puts on the "tough girl" appearance when she is lonely as well. She misses her sister from Earth who she has been separated from due to being abducted by aliens. Since being on the planet that's all she wants unlike some of the females in the earlier books who have mostly accepted their fate. She decides to marry Fejo since he is merchant with a spaceship only so she can later ditch him and find a ride back to Earth. During their trip he finds out and is understandably pissed. Over the course of the story they get to know each other and he finds out the true reason why she must go back to Earth and decides to help.
They are complete opposites but they both balance each other in the best way. Fejo does a great job at making her feel loved/appreciated. He is always complimenting her, making her laugh and she is super happy🥹
My only issue with the book is that most of the story is spent with them being at odds and we only got a small glimpse of them being happy. The epilogue(if you can call it that) just didn't give me the feels I needed to feel. Overall, I loved it and I love the Clecnian series.

July 14, 2024Cocky Space pirate becomes obsessed with his over-horny future mate while she deceives him in order to go back to Earth and escape the false matriarchy Clecania has become as we advance in the series. The D&D rogue-coded hunky alien has a very sad backstory that we can just forget about because the very horny human woman has even a sadder story and more reasons for doing what she's doing. And she does actually nothing because she just has bad luck and everything she plans, fails. So she might have been the protagonist, but she's really not. The space pirate turns into a possessive Clecanian just like the rest of them, except for that moment at the end when a new alien species hypnotises him for a little bit of drama, because we didn't get enough of it during the 400 pages of this book.
I loved Clecania, and now I just want to burn it to the ground, humans included. Rhaego can get in his escape pod and I'll give him a home with me.

Жгг хоче повернутися на Землю, щоб врятувати сестру. Насправді її мотиви можна зрозуміти і в цілому вона мені сподобалась. Нарешті героїня, яка не бісить.
