Rate this book
"Thoughts are where things begin." ThinkBeings, a colourful, rhyming picture book, uses imaginary characters which resemble 'thought bubbles' to draw links between thoughts and feelings, highlight the creative power of thoughts and encourage children (and adults) to pay attention to their thoughts.Use this book to foster greater self-esteem in children and encourage them to be the best version of themselves that they can imagine."Thoughts can be powerful things. Think on this thought for a moment or two. You can think your way into any thing that you choose." "Thoughts can be tricky things that stop you dead in your tracks if that voice in your head says 'You're no good at that!' But what if instead the voice in your head said 'You're amazing, fantastic, go for it - do. Get cracking today for you've nothing to lose!" This book is the first in a planned series, with future books focusing on ways to deal with individual emotions. Suggested age 5+

I was fortunate that my job in a corporate library expanded to helping design and run school education programs AND write picture books for the education program!
I love reading. writing and learning, teaching and helping kids learn cool new stuff.

Very colourful, vibrant with a fresh story outline .... Positive Mindset ... who says it can't start from an early age. Build Resilience and character and for me and when this was read to my 2 daughters ... it wasn't about reading the story from start to finish but discussing each little section of the story and the message behind it at length ... A lot of meaning and life skills can be taught in a book that uses unique / colourful characters to deliver its message.
Great Work Hayley!

This is exactly the kind of book I like to read to my children or have them read to me. I won it in a giveaway on another site and I'm not sure if the book is currently available in the U.S. but if it is, I think it is a must-have for parents.

The illustration is odd but interesting and very colorful but more importantly, the text is fun and inspirational. It's currently one of my children's favorites and one of the few that don't annoy me when I read it. I'd say it's a good one for kids of age 2-6.

Hopefully more of this series will be made available near me.

Designed for children but equally useful for me! I have a copy on my desk at work. Reminds you of the importance (and ease really!) of identifying your feelings, where they come from, and the impact on your personal wellbeing and that of others. All in a Dr Seuss-ians rhyming scheme that is fun and memorable. Recommend to anyone with children, teachers and managers. It's the new "who moved my cheese"

Once I read this book I knew I had to share it! It is now my 'go to' book for a baby shower present as I think it is a very important book to have on a child's bookshelf for them to read and enjoy when they are ready. I have also given it to my Nieces and Nephews for a birthday present. I do this because I am acutely aware of the void in availability of childrens books that teach about emotional intelligence. This very important skill enables children to have the tools to respond well in various social interactions. I would love to see this book in every Kindergarten and Child Care centre in the world!

Hayley has found a fabulous way of explaining to young readers, a vast collection of feelings they can feel. It inspires them to talk about feelings, especially ones they may not have known what to call previously, so bottled them up. Hayley has done well to give the feelings a physical form and the bright mix of colours keeps the kids engaged and interested.

I highly recommend as a vital read for anyone with young children.

Note - I received this book from goodreads first read in exchange for a fair review.

I received this lovely book as a prize from Goodreads first reads.
A 'self help' type book for younger children (maybe the 8 - 10 year group) written in rhyme, with colourful and fun artwork throughout. Even though this book is aimed at the younger reader I think it is a fantastic book to share as a family and discuss the importance of how our thoughts shape our lives. This would be a great book to have in the primary school classrooms for kids to read and discuss with their teachers and peers as well.

This kids book Thinkbeing by Hayley Morton is suitable for both boy's and girl'. It is written in a way that kids understand. It is similar to the "When I'm Feeling" books by Trace Moroney, however it is aimed at a higher age group (School aged). My little Thinkbeings by Hayley Morton one loved the pictures. All in all a very cute children's book.
Received this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway.

I won this book through the goodreads giveaway program. Thinkbeings is a vibrant colourful book filled with positive messages. While it is clearly aimed at children (6-12 or so) it is still an entertaining and useful read for adults. The rhyming scheme is fun and the messages that the book gives across aren't overly preachy unlike some books of a similar vein which I appreciate.

Thinkbeings is a lovely little book for children (and adults), each page has delightfully illustrations and this is a good discussion book. I can see it being used in the classroom with the children discussing each page.

I liked the idea of this book, but it is not the best example of it's type. The concept is sound, and the bright pictures are appealing, but I think there are better books that talk about feelings in ways that are easier for children to understand. The text reads as a bit clunky and forced and does not always flow well.
