I usually like Darcy stories, but this ain't the case.
BDSM, old school colleagues, just for coincidence, she's going to work to his company.

One overbooked hotel room and two old so called school enemies. The High School jock - Colton and the book smart, nerdy girl - Harper get a chance to put the records straight after getting their wires crossed years ago. With Colton planning to get his night's worth with all of the kinkiness he wants from Harper. Blimey he certainly does that big time. This is a short and steamy read that i enjoyed reading with characters i really liked

Argumento:
🎀Es Nochevieja y preferiría estar en cualquier lugar menos aquí, compartiendo una habitación de hotel con mi enemigo.
En el último año de la escuela secundaria, me rompió el corazón y no lo he vuelto a mirar de la misma manera desde entonces.
¿A quién le importa si mide seis pies, es sexy como el infierno y es el director ejecutivo de la compañía para la que acabo de aceptar un trabajo? Todavía lo odio.
El lado positivo: es solo una noche, y luego nunca tendré que volver a verlo.
Una noche ciertamente no puede cambiar lo que siento por él, ¿verdad?
Mi humilde opinión:
❄️Me gustan los romances con steam y no estoy en contra de los juegos eróticos y hombres dominantes y posesivos pero no disfruté este.
Primero, la razón por la que Harper dice que Colton le rompió el corazón fue para mí entre confusa y tonta. Él le pidió una cita cuando iban a la escuela y Harper lo interpretó como si se estuviera burlando de ella. Una cita la pides sin reírte del otro. Para que ella lo odiara a muerte desde entonces debió parecer como que él no iba enserio. Años después vuelven a encontrarse y esto se aclara rápidamente en una escena picante pero aún aclarado el malentendido, Harper sigue dudando de que él sea serio con ella. Falta de comunicación y la heroína haciéndose la cabeza, algo que odio.
Segundo, no me gustó ninguno de los protagonistas.
Colton era un idiota arrogante. No me gustó que la chantajeara con su puesto de trabajo. Pasó de decirle reina del hielo a diosa en un instante, una mujer que quiere tener porque lo rechazó antes a una que ama con locura. Esta clase de héroe dominante, intenso y oscuro no va conmigo. Principalmente porque le causaba dolor/placer a la heroína. Me sentí incómoda con muchas partes donde él a propósito le causa dolor. El voyerismo y el BDSM tampoco va conmigo.
Harper parecía una mujer inteligente y que nadie la pasaría por arriba. Creí que se la iba a poner difícil a Colton y más porque ella lo odiaba pero... Acepta el arreglo con Colton de acostarse con él una noche para no perder su trabajo y porque todavía se siente atraída por él a pesar de lo que le hizo en el pasado. Enseguida descubre que le encanta ser la sumisa de él y se vuelve una necesitada tonta por Colton cuando no hace mucho decía odiarlo! Ella se olvida que es su enemigo y está impresionada por todo, la tarjeta de crédito, la limosina y el mundo travieso en el club exclusivo que él le muestra.
Esperaba algo más. Se volvió una lectura tediosa que casi abandono. No hay mucho más que Colton y Harper teniendo sexo o observando a otros teniendo sexo. No es una historia que tenga el tema festivo presente tampoco. Solo hay una cuenta regresiva mientras tienen sexo y eso es todo.
Había leído una serie de esta autora que me encantó pero este librito lamentablemente no fue para mí.

Only he manages to go one better when she learns that he’s her new employee but only if she agrees to a night with him, a night of no limits. Does Harper know what she’s agreeing too and will she be able to not fall in love with him for the second time?

Harper intelligent just landed an amazing well paying job, wanting to celebrate but not celebrate with others just herself by getting a room at the Four Seasons soaking, maybe grabbing a great book and that is her dream of bringing in the New Year but fate has other ideas because when she gets to her room there is someone there already in the shower no less. Colton sexy as all get out ex. who broke her heart walking out of the shower to find his ex. in his room but not just that they learn that the company who just hired her belongs to him but he also remembers high school. Due to a mix-up with the hotel they are stuck in the same room together just as fate intended staying together but will they both see the second chance that fate is giving them because the attraction is definitely still there and neither of them can ignore the magnetic pull between them so where will this one night lead them, will she agree to be with him at the club, can he explain what, or why he did what he did in high school, will she forgive him, will he wake up a side of her that she didn’t know existed, and will it lead them to something more than just one night?.

I liked this over the top second chance love story a lot. It was different, entertaining, and enjoyable. The characters were interesting, adventurous, and likable. Harper and Colton ran into each other in a cringeworthy and slightly scary way. Colton decided that he was going to “have” Harper as he’d wanted to when they knew each other before. Harper was floored but also intrigued by Colton’s offer/demand. Once the terms were agreed upon things hit the fast lane in a huge way. The instantaneous relinquishing of decision making blew me away. Colton seemed like he was out to see just how much he could shock Harper and get her to allow him to do. I had a hard time understanding the motivation for either of them let alone the complete surrender that seemed to happen. It didn’t stop me from enjoying the story, I just couldn’t relate. There was a tiny bit of drama and angst but it was super tiny. There was plenty of steam and a little sweetness. I liked how the story ended although I would have liked another epilogue further out. I recommend reading this book.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book is action-packed from start to finish and full of angst. If you are looking for a smoking hot book full of kink look no further. Highly recommend.

Colton is the guy that shattered her heart in high school, the one she never got over, and now the one in her hotel room. Colton is shocked to see Harper after all these years because she is the only girl to ever turn him down, but now he has the perfect opportunity to have her and show her what she missed out on. The chemistry is intense between them, and their misunderstanding finally comes to light, but not until Colton is a jerk to her. At first, I wasn't a fan of his arrogance towards her, but he more than makes up for it later on. This quick read is scorching hot, intense, and leave you breathless.

I loved Midnight Kisses. Harper just landed an amazing job. She treated herself to a night at the Four Seasons to celebrate. She wasn’t expecting to find him in her hotel room, Colton, the boy turned man who broker her heart and is now her new boss. A mixup at the hotel that can’t be fixed finds them making a deal for one night together but will one night be enough? Colton pushes her limits but it’s more amazing than Harper could have expected. Can there be a future for them past one night? Such an amazing storyline and characters. I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it.

Oh, my god. I absolutely LOVE Darcy Rose's books - and especially the male leads. I like her female leads too, but the men, oh man, the men I 100% love. They're all imperfectly perfect in their own unique ways.
This was a short New Year's Eve story with a plot twist I definitely hadn't expected, where Colton ties a leash around Harper's neck and takes her to a private club where he fucks her in front of everyone - don't worry, people, it's all consensual! And the 'show' Harper gave him in the shower on his orders? That was incredibly hot too.

I ate this up in one sitting. It was a short quick paced read full of spice. When the drastic part hit right at the beginning, I expected things to go one way and instead was delightfully surprised at the direction it went.
The characters had history with each other, which made it fun to see their versions of their memories of that time and added to the tension of their feelings. While there was minimal brought up about the past, families, other aspects of a world, there was plenty to give everything life.

I loved this story. It is a second chance romance and it is short and sweet. Harper just recently got a job at a company. She goes back to her hotel room and finds someone in her room. That person is a man she spent a long time trying to forget, Colton. They try and get the hotel to figure out what happened when Colton finds out she works for his company he tells her he won’t fire her if she spends one night with him following his every word. They go to a BDSM club and have some fun before midnight. They novella was so good and the spice was HOT!.

The hotel double booked the room and now Harper is stuck with Colton for the night. They had a misunderstanding in the past that left some angst between them. Overall, a well written and entertaining story.

Unfortunately Harper is in the same hotel room as a class mate from high school. This class mate although they worked together on a project she believed he made fun of her behind her back. Colton is the CEO of the company she was just hired for. Since they are stuck in the same room for the night Colton threatens Harper. She must do anything he wants or he will fire her. This is a very steamy, hot, sexy short story. Quick read but ver enjoyable.

I thought that this was a good book. I enjoyed the tension, banter, connection and chemistry that Harper and Colton. These two finally get a chance at love after 8 years but it is not smooth sailing for these two. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to what Darcy has in store for us next.

Harper and Colton find themselves booked into the same room with no other vacancies. They knew each other in high school and had mutual crushes but through a misunderstanding nothing happened. He decides to take charge. This is a smokin hot story with some kink. The author moves the story quickly and smoothly with her vividly painted scenes and delivers a hot read.

Ringing in the New Year
Harper just landed a new job, now she’s looking forward to a quiet New Years Eve. Unfortunately, her hotel room is over booked, and her high school nemesis Colton is just coming out of the shower. Parts of this story were great - their time at the club Purgatory were HOT - but I had trouble with Colton - in short, he was a tool. His behaviour at the beginning was unpleasant and he doesn’t quite redeem himself. A decent read.

I really enjoyed this book, I liked the storyline and the characters had a good connection... I'm not gonna lie I wasn't expecting it to be as spicy as it was, but man, did I love that! I liked that the main characters knew each other from when they were younger so the pace of the relationship was more believable. I liked that even though it had a more naughty spicy side that their growing romance was still a main star in this story and you got what you needed with the ending, a happy one!.
