~ ~ “Letting her arm go, I meet her questioning look. I’m not going to ask what it means, it’s obvious. Her answering swallow is confirmation. This time, I hug her because I need to do it. Fuck this girl for making me care, but Christ, I do." ~ ~

TEACH is a why choose romance novel, which means that the main character won't have to choose who she ends up with. This is a MFMM 18+ age-gap, student/teacher romance set in a university setting that has elements some may find triggering. Please read the trigger warning at the beginning of the book, and if you find any topics that you think will push you, please don't read. The main triggers in this book is assault with threats of sexual assault, death of family members, but this is only described as happening in the past, and elements of graphic sex bordering in BDSM including a scene of con/noncon.
I did not care for the heroine and her mouth. She was too hard. I feel she placed herself in certain situations. She drew that type of energy. A heroine can be tough and strong without running her mouth to people every 5 minutes. A bit immature behavior if you ask me. A know-it-all. I liked that she asked for extra help with her classes. That was a plus. However, I do not understand why the men cared for her. Stop swearing and blaming everyone!! The wanting of a relationship was not believable when it came to her mouth and their professions. There is a large age difference. One hero (the counselor) is 41 and the heroine 20. A lot of growing to do!
- age gap - student x teacher relationship - why-choose - 3 men - mouthy fmc (not always in a good way)
I wanted to love this book so badly. I love all the tropes in it. However, the FMC ruined it for me. She was so mouthy and put herself in situations that got her into trouble and put her in potential danger and it was just annoying. I am all for a strong independent woman, but don't be a fool and try to take on men that have a very clear disregard for women's opinions. Especially when they've made it clear that they don't care about the word no.... I just didn't vibe with the FMC unfortunately. I do think I will give the author another go though because I did enjoy the writing style overall.
An age gap / student-teacher RH romance that you will love!
A QUICK REVIEW: I've read a few student / professor stories before, but none on this level. Three of the four characters in particular have history that effects their present life, especially in their relationships. I love the fire that the female main character, Emily, has inside of her. She's the kind of woman everyone should stride to be - loyal, protective, stands up for what's right despite any oppression or pressure to do otherwise, and is tough as nails. She doesn't care what others think and lives her life to the fullest that she can. I love the bickering she has with one of the guys, Kellen, who digs his heels in a LOT with her. There were definitely some laugh out loud moments with them.
If you like books consisting of student - professors, age gap, role playing, a bit of dominance in the men, or any romance whatsoever (with no other woman drama!), then I'm sure you'll love this book!
BRIEF SUMMARY (no spoilers): You'll see characters from the previous book, ATONE, in this story since the main female character in TEACH is Emily. You may remember her as the coffee barista at Blue Moon's where Haisley would swing by. She and her men pop up a few times in this book, but if you haven't read it, it isn't a huge deal if you read this one first (it will help with some of the back story though, or you might be a little confused).
You learn about Emily's past, where a heartbreaking and traumatic incident dramatically changed her life. Her life was forcefully uprooted at sixteen, and she had to very quickly become independent to get by.
Emily is starting her second year of college but needs assistance or slightly different projects to help her get by since she's dyslexic. She's had a few counselors in the past, the previous one being a jerk who didn't take the time to really get to know her or her needs. She meets up with a new one named Lincoln who, as soon as he sees her pink hair and tattoos, shrugs her off as someone who just can't be bothered to do the work, not that she may have special needs. Thankfully, Emily is someone who doesn't take bull from people, and she puts him in his place. Realizing he misjudged her, he apologized to her, looked over her file more closely, and gets to helping her make a plan to succeed.
Her teacher in Creative Writing, Felix, is drawn to her right away. Sure, she's gorgeous, but there's something else about her, too. He learns she's a bit withdrawn from other students with the exception of one (Haisley) and that when needed, she's a firecracker who will stand up for herself and her friends. She's also got quite the mouth on her! These traits are great, but also get her involved in some trouble with two guys in her class who were harassing her friend Haisley and then herself. This becomes a bit of an ongoing issue throughout the book.
Emily has a run-in with another man, almost quite literally, when she's on a run. He comes up beside her, they seem to wordlessly flirt a bit, then he runs off ahead. She stops by Lincoln's office for an appointment, and before walking in, she overhears the running man (Kellen) talking about a hot woman (not realizing he was talking about her). He catches her around the corner and flirts with her a bit, but then discovers she's a student. He leaves abruptly and gives her the cold shoulder for a long time after this, and gives his two friends (Lincoln and Felix) a hard time over their affections for her, despite his own secret desire for her.
The story goes on with the three men and Emily figuring out their feelings and relationships with each other, the drama and incident of the two boys from class, peer pressure from someone relatively major in Emily's life to do something she is vehemently against, and some of the main characters overcoming issues that effect their current lives due to their pasts.
This book was just amazing! We finally see Emily’s story. Emily is Haisley’s close friend (we see her briefly in ATONE). Emily has gone through a traumatic situation that left her changed but still managed to overcome that situation and become the woman she is today. Lincoln, Felix and Kellen are faculty members in the university that Emily and Haisley attend. When they all meet they were literally thrown off their own course 😂😂😂 Emily is a free spirited woman who speaks her mind and when I say that I LITERALLY mean it😂😂 She gives zero f**** 😂😂 She will call you out on your bull and not care. Yet she is sensitive and very mature. Her bio-dad never truly cared for her and only took her in after a paternity test 😒😒 Lincoln pissed me off in the beginning (first chapter my people, first chapter😂) like haven’t we learned not to judge a book by its cover, but my girl Emily handed him his nuts on a platter 😂😂😂😂 Felix was my favorite to be honest! He just had issues to work through to finally accept the blessing that was in his classroom with pink hair💖 Kellen… For a minute there I believed it was gonna be another Anthony moment😒 like I was ready to put him on my blacklist but then he explained why he was the way he was and my heart broke for him 🥹 Still hate him for how he treated Emily and the snide remarks he made in a certain scene (the lola movie) 😒 wanted to punch him but… he BIG 🥹 The author truly outdid herself with this book! And the playlist she made 🤌🏻 *chef kiss* Chapter 36 😏😏😏😏😏😏 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🌳🌲(iykyk) 😉😉
Atone was such a heart wrenching story, one that lingered with me for months after reading, so I had high hopes for Teach! And it was stunning beyond any expectations!!
Emily’s backstory is tragic, with the family dynamics that twist and turn throughout this book. It added a layer of emotional connectivity for me, as someone who also was raised by her Stepfather from a very young age! I cried so much with the rougher parts of this story. Facing loss and abandonment. It’s heart wrenching.
Lincoln, Felix, and Kellan are drool worthy MMCs! While they are not all swoon worthy romantics, each of the men holds a level of realism that makes them even more lovable in my eyes.
And the spice! It was flirty, it was kinky, it was fun! I went into this story knowing I would love the primal/cnc scene! But my favorite? Easily the role play scene. Nothing gets to me more than characters who can laugh at themselves during spicy times without losing their desire!
I am thrilled to get to hear more incredible stories from this author in the future!
This is the first S.E. Green book that I have ever read, and boy am I glad I did! Teacher/student tropes can be hard to do without being the same story over and over again. This one definitely doesn't do that. This is very much an original take and can be read as a standalone.
I LOVE Emily. I love how she defends the people she cares about, and also doesn't diminish her own worth based on how people in her life (who should be boosting her up, not tearing her down) treat her. And they guys - well, they're hot!
There's some darker, emotional elements to the story that have the opportunity to make this tougher to read for some who are affected by certain triggers, but they're well balanced with the lighter (and sometimes verrrrrry schmexy) moments. All in all, a fantastic read, and now I'm diving into ATONE - the first book in this series.
This is only my second foray into an S.E. Green book and I'm so glad I picked it up. TEACH is about Emily and the three men that she meets, all faculty at the college she is attending. Emily has had a difficult and tragic few years. She is struggling to do well in school despite some learning disabilities and meets the first the men when she switches advisors and meets with him. He lives with three other faculty members, one of whom is a track coach at the school and the other a professor, whose class she ends up in.
I really enjoyed the chemistry and dynamics among all three of them. There are a lot of layers and depths to each of them and their relationships with each other. I also very much enjoyed the glimpses we got of Haisley and her guys. I can't wait to see what's next in the DISSONANCE series.
Heat level: 5/5. S.E. Green is one of my newest favorite authors. I love how raw and real her stories are and how each character has their own voice and personality. This is the second book I've read by her so far, and I absolutely love this series! TEACH is way less dark and heavy than ATONE is, but I loved both stories, both FMCs, and all the men. This one has a delicious primal scene and my seat became a slip-and-slide. Role playing, hand necklaces, butt slaps, 3some scene, 4some scene, praise, and dirty talk. My good dudes, it's professor/advisor/student relationships here too. Check the TWs, there's a couple of douche canoes in this that make you mad, but if threats are a no go, don't read this one. If you've not read ATONE, just know that the FMC and her men make appearances in this since both FMCs are really good friends. I can't wait for the next one!
I am reading all of Greens books backwards 😂. This is Emily’s story and I am sure she was introduced in the previous book since her best friend and her guys make an appearance here.
✨Age Gap ✨Professor/Student ✨Why Choose
I loved Emily she is a ball of fire and sass. She has dyslexia so she needs a little extra help that brings Lincoln her new counselor and Felix her professor closer with more time spent together. While Kellen is the voice of reason or more like scared from a past he has not let go of. They make sparks with their snark back and forth. Emily certainly don’t back down. A great whychoose. Told in MPOV with a HEA. No prego in this book.
Taboo (student x teacher), age gap (~20 yrs), RH 🔥🥵, bit of primal play and a strong FMC The writing and pacing was good and I think the guys were different enough from each other which was great.
I wish I saw more of a connection with Kellan, and I thought the way she said I love you to him was kinda soon, considering he held back on her so much. He was expecting her to say it after she said it to Felix, but Felix was in a relationship with her for so much longer.
Nonetheless, this was a great read and I liked how each person had their own rough pasts. They were made for each other. I love Lincoln he’s my favourite ahahaha
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
When we meet Emily, she’s been hurt, abandoned, and left to pick up the pieces. When she enrolls in college, she meets three men - the first falls hard for her, the second takes a little time but the chemistry and humor between the two pushes them together, and the third… well, he tries to fight it, but ultimately, he chases her down… quite literally ;)
This book is a steamy, age gap, forbidden romance with all the tension and piecing back together of hearts… HEA too 🫶
We also get to see the characters from Atone in this book & that’s such a bonus.
This book was everything I didn't realize I was missing from my RH library. This was deceptively sweet, engaging, plot driven, a forest fire of hotness. I read this on KU and then promptly bought it because this is one I'm going to need to reread on the regular. Hats off to the author for providing something that fills an obvious gap in this genre.
This one didn't work for me. The writing is fine, like usual. I didn't really understand why the men were gaga for her at their first meeting. I wish there were more interactions before they became physical. But that's my preference. I'm more of a relationship vs smut reader so I ended up dnf at 70%. It's still a good book.
This book … gahhhh I was a little ify about the fmc and her mouth . I don’t care for a fmc like that. But everything else was just amazing. This book had me in my feelz . Teared up a couple times , such a great read
Daddy/mommy issues galore (fitting for me really). Nonetheless, it was still a heartfelt and spicy read. I’m pretty sure this is part of a standalone series? But no matter, the previous installment’s character is the FMC’s friends
This is my second time reading an S. E. Green story from its inception and god they just keep getting better. Emily is damaged but so strong and she doesn’t let her trauma define her the way so many FMC’s do (especially in age gap romances). Felix’s insecurities don’t magically go away and Kellens issues are dealt with in a healthy (and sexy) way. Lincoln is just the rock of the group. I loved this group of characters so much and the story was so different from Haisley’s. The character development is solid and the relationships are oh so sweet. And the spice? Sheeeeeesh. Let me just say Kell is my favorite for a reason lol. You won’t regret taking a chance on TEACH.
Emotional but Steamy, Teacher(s)/Student romance!!
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Emily 🫶 Felix, Lincoln, Kellen
I’ve been reading this series in such a discombobulated manner lol, but I’m super glad that I read ATONE before TEACH, because omg I would have missed out on a lot! We got to see Haisley & her boys again 🥰!
****
After a tragic accident four years ago that took the lives of her mother and twin baby sisters, Emily is slowly but steadily rebuilding her life. A rocky first meeting with a new student advisor, sparks something new for Emily, that makes her realize she’s missing romance and affection, in her world. Add in a hot new creative writing professor, and a super grumpy track team coach, Emily’s once lonely existence starts to evolve into so much more.

Imagine my surprise when I realized, Emily, the barista and Haisley’s new friend from ATONE got her own book!!!
Emily aka “Squidge,” was witty, tough, hilarious, and such a ride or die for Haisley. I honestly loved her from chapter one! The way she called Lincoln out for dismissing her was badass. There were so many moments that made me appreciate her as an FMC; when she stood up against Duncan’s creepy ass, when she kept putting “Thomas” in his place (I died every time she called him ‘daddy’ sarcastically 😂), when she introduced Felix as her boyfriend to her friends, when she put her foot down with Kellen, when she scared the shit out of Lincoln when she changed advisors, etc. I could go on for ages. There are very few times I come across FMCs that make me feel like the author plucked her right out of my mind. Emily was just perfect, feisty temper and all!
Lincoln, the first to set eyes on our heroine and the first to falls head over ass in love with her. Their dynamic was so sweet and tender, yet also hot and heavy. Honestly, I couldn’t have loved Lincoln as a character more, besides their first meeting hiccup he was in Emily’s corner the whole time. I also soooo enjoyed his little freak out toward the end when he thought Emily was dumping him lol. There’s no denying this man was whipped.
Felix aka “Flick,” was endearingly insecure and really stellar at role playing lmaooo. Brother/Sister? Priest/Sinner? Teacher/Student? The man could do it all! His and Emily’s relationship was so much fun, every time they were together there was no shortage of bantering and laughs. His previous relationship history made me so sad for him though, I loved watching Emily show him how appreciated and loved he was, they were too cute!
Kellen, was an absolute grump with a tormented past. Can’t lie, I wanted to deck him through the book a couple times, this man just couldn’t say the right thing for the life of him. Surprisingly, in the end his bluntness is what made me love him as a character. His story was absolutely heartbreaking, he really had no one and learning that Lincoln and Felix were his found family, really made me understand where all of his defensiveness was coming from. His relationship with Emily was the slowest to form but I adored how they became running buddies first, then bickering friends, and finally lovers when she fought for him to be hers. (The chase through the woods scene! 🔥🔥🔥Incredibly hot! 🥵)
ALSO Duncan, Liam, and Thomas can all go to hell! God awful, the lot of them! Lol the drama added by these villains was so good though, it gave the perfect amount of tension to the story. I felt so bad for poor Haisley though, but I loved her book and was so happy to meet her again as a side character!!
****
Out of all the S.E. Green books I’ve read so far, this one has been the funniest! Emily was confident, bratty, and skilled at poking her men’s buttons. Getting to know her as a character was such a joy, everything she did made me sooo giddy because it was always interesting and entertaining. There was just something about her, I found myself loving! Not to say, Lincoln, Felix, and Kellen didn’t have their moments, but Emily was just more consistently headstrong, funny, and fiery.
AND, as with all books by this author, it seems, the waterworks are inevitable. (That letter from Emily’s dad made me ugly cry so bad 😭😭😭😭). There’s tragedy, pain, and healing. Overall it was a great story, I laughed and sobbed, I couldn’t have asked for better 🫶!
Read this if you want a scorching hot 🔥teacher(s)/student romance and if you don’t mind dropping some tears!!
Omg where do I start; First that I absolutely loved this story and secondly it’s so much more than a teacher/student rh! Let’s talk about our mfc Emmy; she’s one of the strongest lead female characters I’ve read about in a long time! She’s had so much to deal with; losing her mother and sisters, her stepdad sending her away to live with bio-dad and he’s horrible, recovering from a very bad car accident that she was terribly injured from, dyslexia which she is still doing great in college, the harassment from Duncan and she still manages to be fun, loving, a caring friend, strong, smart and passionate girlfriend! Then we have our harem of guys; Kellen, Lincoln and Felix. Kellen the one who couldn’t commit right away because he had to work through some mommy issues but always wanted to be her friend and looked out for her until it became more! Lincoln is dedicated, loyal, dependable, someone who could bring her balance and courage. He was the first to know that Emmy was special and the one for him even though he had one moment of weakness when he freaked out at her admission of love. Then there’s Felix; he’s our comic relief, fun-loving, easygoing ladies man who his past ladies didn’t see a future with but that’s ok because those relationships weren’t supposed to last because Emmy is his true love! The spice in this book is hot! We have lots of kinks; primal play, role playing of a priest, a couple of group times, lots of hand necklaces, spanking, lots of wall sex, and some anal play. There were many great scenes! My only negative that I would bring up is the stuff with Duncan and her bio-dad ended abruptly. I guess it’s fine because I was her for the love story!
I downloaded this book because I love a good taboo book with age difference, teacher - student, complicated relationships. But I honestly lost interest when I got to the part where the two of them (Lincoln and Emily) went from talking about what Kellan said to kissing and masturbating in the span of 2 minutes.
If you're going to give me a student - teacher relationship, give me tension, not just sexual tension, but the tension of knowing it's wrong to fixate on a person with such a big age difference, a tension where despite being attracted they try to distance themselves from her or her from them, kind of like what happened with Kellan, who flirted with her until he realized she was a student.
But no, the author instead did the opposite. They met Emily and immediately started fantasizing about her, being so brazen to the point of taking as much free time out of their schedule as they could with the excuse of "helping" her with her dyslexia just to spend more time with her (which is creepy, if you ask me).
Anyway, I didn't like that there was none of what makes an age difference harem and teacher-student interesting in this book which is precisely what is forbidden about that relationship. It was mentioned 2 times in 25% of the book and proceeded to be ignored by Lincoln 🤡 0 stars.
Teach is a contemporary RH standalone that I greatly enjoyed! It has an age gap between our fmc and her three men, and a teacher-student trope that was done really well. Emily is a wonderful fmc; the last few years of her life haven't been easy, but she shows her strength and resilience multiple times throughout this story. I also love her spunk and sass, and how she's there for the people she loves no matter what.
I thought it was great that there was no real drama between the men; they are best friends and sharing their girl comes naturally. That doesn't mean every single one of these men doesn't have their own demons to overcome, but I actually love how our girl doesn't take any bs from them and just calls them out whenever they deserve it. There is a different tempo in every relationship Emily develops, and it's nice how the spicy scenes vary between single and multiple "players" throughout the story. They are actually written really well, and the kink adds a nice little extra to it all.
So yeah, I really loved this story, and I'm definitely planning on checking out more of this author's work in the future.
Okay... here's the thing. My brain was operating at like 3am and downloaded a KU book that I didn't really know I was clicking. Age gap is not my jam. Even though I get total lady boners for older men in real life 🤷🏻♀️ I don't dig deeper with that. Anyways...
I really thought I was not going to like this. Surprisingly, it was pretty good. The fmc stayed consistent and I liked the support from the supporting characters.
The drama wasn't TOO much. But it is a little.....off? Idk. I kind of got sick of it repeating over and over.
One thing I kind of twisted my face over was toward the end, one of the men seemingly takes on this weird funny and quirky vibe over a phone call. It did not fit the rest of him through the book and it almost seemed like he took on another personality of a supporting character.
It kept me interested. I liked the fmc. I liked the real life difficulties aspect. I also liked the dirty mouths 😉
I think this is my first time read of S.E. Green and I might try out her others.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book of the series, but this one was phenomenal. I loved Emily and her smart mouth, take-no-mess attitude. She was a firecracker from the start and had me laughing out loud more than once. The men were just something else entirely. There was none of the nonsense that comes with college men and their lack of life knowledge in the dating department. These men knew what they wanted and thrived in it. Kellen was no doubt my favorite. I’m a sucker for a brooding man. Felix’s easy going demeanor kept everyone entertained at the best moments, and Lincoln was the perfect voice of reason. Seeing the tension build up was glorious, and when it finally exploded, it was fantastic. I love that they all happened at different times because I feel like it makes it more special. The last one always loves the hardest, and this one proved that once again.
2.5* I've read others by the author and really enjoyed them, and after seeing the tropes in this I thought it would be the same. But the delivery just felt flat for me...the MMCs were okay but not really standing out. One is hesitant to start anything, because he says he has darker needs. The way it was described, the fact that he was so against anything with the FMC because he didn't want her to see that part of him, it gave me high expectations for something dark and twisty. In reality, it felt anything but...yes it wasn't vanilla but certainly not something shocking. Perhaps this is me being too used to dark romances, but it felt a let down. The FMC was okay, but a little too mouthy for me to enjoy and I just didn't end up liking her all that much. I finished this yesterday, and am struggling to really recall what happened in it. So whilst I didn't dislike it when reading it, I just didn't find any parts really catching or memorable.
3.75⭐️ Age Gap 20/41 Student x Teacher/Counselor/Coach Why choose No third act break up
I really liked Emily. Loved how strong, independent, sassy and blunt Emily was. Loved how she put people in there paces and didn’t take there shit. Which I loved but she also did run her mouth off a little too much and didn’t know when to stop or back down.
I liked Lincoln and Felix. Nothing about them really stood out to make me love them.
I didn’t like Kellen. Sometimes I even hated him. Did he have his moments where I liked him? Sure, but it still didn’t make me like him or any less of the asshole he was. He had mommy issues and issues with women in general and needed therapy. I will say this, he became tolerable and tiny bit likable around 90%.
