We’ve all seen or experienced something strange at one point and thought—nobody would believe this. Horror in the Pines is a well-collected anthology series of extraordinary events individuals have endured among the trees. From sightings and strange noises to unexplainable disappearances, people are emerging from the shadows to share their stories of the unknown.
This volume starts with a very strange case of a woman squatting and jumping like a frog. The second may involve a witch and police that do nothing to help.
The third case ends in an unnecessary death caused by a Bigfoot. In various cases in these books people ignore warning signs, literally, including things like camping is not allowed in this area.
One case involves a dead body and a haunted house. The next one is hard to figure out and may involve hallucination. Then there's a cryptid case which might be a skinwalker, a case involving UFOs, memory loss and theft and some kind of ancient creature that protects some woods.
It's very rare in these books when someone is killed involving a Bigfoot as they generally stick to throwing rocks and branches and banging on trees.
Again, interesting cases and some clues into cryptid behavior.
This is the third volume in the Horror in the Pines series. This edition is full of a number of disturbing encounters. More than cryptids are found in the woods. Many of the witnesses never thought something could happen to them, they learned otherwise. Two standouts for me were the little boy and his mother, and the family feud. Both disturbing and creepy.
One if the best collections of these kinds of stories I've ever read. Having had my own encounter with the supernatural, it's good to read well-known edited, un-hysterical accounts that also are collected with good grammar to boot! Thanks!
I have read other books by the authors and I find this series to be one of the best. If you're a fan of the strange, dark and bizarre you'll enjoy this book.
