Christians fail because they do not realize the authority that Jesus gave them when He left the earth. Even when they realize that they have authority, they do not know how to receive or implement the power that is required to enforce authority.

You might have the authority to hold up your hand to try to stop a car from going through an intersection. But it is power that makes a person respect your authority. Without power backing your authority, the car can go through the intersection without you being able to stop him.

Jesus gave us authority over the earth when He left. (He gained back the authority yielded by Adam in the Garden.) He made us kings and priests unto God. (Rev 1:6)

But He also gave us the power to enforce authority over all the works of Satan without anything harming us. (Luke 10:19)

Many years ago, I purchased the entire Kenneth Hagin library of books and cassette tapes.

Hagin writes clearly and simply. He has been responsible for restoring to much of the church an understanding of the Bible and our roles as Christians.

I have learned something from every book of his that I have read.

Instead of the mumbo-jumbo that comes from most preachers who repeat terms from the Bible that they cannot understand and explain in simple terms, Hagin actually explains in his books what happened from the cross to the throne, what happened to man when Satan fell, how Jesus' death made it possible for us to return to a new state, and how the Blood of Jesus has the power to set us free and heal us.

Ask a preacher to explain why and how the Blood of Jesus and Jesus' death on the cross can make it possible for us to be born again and be healed, and they will use words that they do not understand. So they repeat the words that they heard.

The sign of a genius is ability to explain difficult concepts in simple language. Like Michio Kaku who explains the universe simply compared to Steven Hawking who just uses complex terms, Hagin makes difficult concepts easy to understand.

After you read Hagin's books, you will no longer think that Christianity is a bunch of superstition mingled with cannibalism (eating the Body and drinking the Blood) or the haven of simple unintelligent people who believe what they hear without understanding.

You will understand how God created the universe, how angels and demons operate, how Satan and Adam fell, how authority was lost and regained, why Jesus had to die on the Cross and why his death on the Cross could accomplish what it did spiritually but the deaths of others by crucifixion did not have the same effect. You will understand the reality and location of each Heaven and each region of Hell. You will understand the existence of the spiritual realm around you and your spiritual eyes will be opened. You will understand what it means to be born again, a new creature (a different creation that never existed before) 2 Corinthians 5:17. You will learn how to function in this spiritual realm as a new spirit being with a recreated spirit alongside your own soul (mind, will and emotions) and body. You will understand what happens when you die and how if you do not have the frequency of Heaven, it is impossible for your spirit to be drawn to Heaven. Your frequency actually changes after you are born again, you are a new creature.

In one of his books, Kenneth Hagin describes how as a teenager, baptized in a Baptist church, where he thought he had become a Christian, he died and went to Hell. He then described how his grandmother's prayers brought him back until he really became born again, died and went to Heaven.

This is intended as a recommendation for all of Kenneth Hagin's books, not just "The Believer's Authority".

His books are clear and concise, explain everything that is needed to have a strong foundation for our Christian faith, and most important are accurate.

I trust all of his books. If I could have the books of only one author, they would be from Hagin. And if I could have only 3 of his books, I would purchase the 3 courses.

I keep reading how this book is life changing but I learned nothing here. I admit that I am not Word-Faith and regard it as heretical. That said, I tried to read Hagin's "classic" book as open as I could. The book mainly focuses on Ephesians 1 and the believers position with Christ. My main contention is that the book is very man-centered and while some is said of Christ and His saving work, the focus is on man, his faith, and his power from God. The book makes the key issue us. If we have poverty or sickness, it's a faith issue.

In the end, I got what I expected. Hagin's "classic" is just Kenyon rewritten. The book is shallow, lacks exegesis, and flesh focused. I do not recommend it.

I read this heretical book for the sake of witnessing to a family friend who is trapped in the prosperity gospel (Word of Faith) movement.

The author claims that believers have an authority that is on par with God. He even goes so far as to say that there are things that Jesus can't do that we can. This book attributes an incredible amount of power to Satan and his demons, while diminishing the absolute sovereignty of God.

The author often misquotes and misapplies Scripture, redefines words in a way that is convenient to his errant presuppositions, and heavily rests on supposed visions that he had with Jesus, where Jesus gave him secret and personal knowledge about what certain Bible verses mean. The book is also filled with anecdotes, baseless claims and particular experiences, all of which I have no reason to believe as true since this man lies about things that can be verified using sound hermeneutics when handling Scripture.

A number of heresies are discussed in this book, but here are a list of the ones that leaped out at me...
- Hagin claims that we inherit the very name of Jesus. Jesus' name belongs to Him alone. Often the Word of Faith movement puts an emphasis on Jesus' name as a magic incantation (as is the case in several places in this book). Jesus' name is representative of who He is. We are not Jesus, so we don't get His name.
- Many times in this book, the sinfulness of mankind is downplayed and blame-shifted to spirits within that person. This replaces personal responsibility (a clear biblical doctrine) with that of victimization.
- In some very poor mishandling of the Ephesians text, Hagin makes the statement that Christians are actually seated at the right hand of God the Father. "When Christ sat down, we sat down, too." This is absurd and is likened to deifying all Christians. He actually says that "all things have been put under our feet". To further add to Hagin's claims to the deification of man, he actually refers to Adam as a god.
- Hagin destroys the very fabric of the gospel by calling the cross a place of defeat (as in, Jesus' defeat). This is a damning lie. If it was a defeat, why did Jesus say "It is finished!" when He died and not when he was raised? Why was the veil torn in the holy of holies upon His death and not when He was resurrected? Hagin says we should focus less on a cross and more on a throne. This alone is enough to discredit everything else Hagin claims. On a related note, speaking of victory later on in the book he says "Our job is to enforce His victory. His victory belongs to us." God shares His glory with no one. The victory is His alone!
- Hagin regularly exhorts Christians to "demand your rights". This speaks of entitlement, which is anti-biblical. The only thing we are entitled to is hell. Grace is unmerited favor. The notion of entitlement is an assault on God's grace. He even tells us to demand things of the devil. But we should have nothing to do with Satan.
- Hagin makes the claim that God needs our help. That there are things that Jesus is incapable of doing. He takes the analogy of the body of Christ too far. According to Hagin, since Jesus is just the head of the body, he needs the rest of the body to do His will. Again, this shows the weak false god that Word of Faith preachers promote in their teaching. A god who needs our help and who is incapable of doing anything without us. Nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to the God of the Bible. Hagin supports this with a supposed vision he had, where Jesus quoted Matt 28:18 and then apparently said "But I immediately delegated my authority on earth to the church, and I can work only through the church, for I am the Head of the church." Who needs the Bible when you can rely on Kenneth Hagin's uncontested visions? What if I made a claim that I have seen a vision of Jesus where He said Kenneth Hagin's visions were all fabricated?

Here are some other things that should raise red flags to any who read this book...
- He talks about how he prayed through the prayers in Ephesians over 1000 times. As a result of this vain repetitious prayer (Mt 6:7), he is now an authority on the book of Ephesians.
- He regularly exhorts readers to stop using our intellect when handling the Scriptures. God is the one who gave us a mind, after all.
- He calls Satan a defeated foe. Yet so much emphasis in the Word of Faith movement is on how Satan continues to interfere in the life of Christians and the world. Satan is still a real and present threat in this world. He is not bound yet. We are not called to rebuke the devil (as Hagin redefines the word "resist" to mean).
- Hagin makes the claim that authority can only be exercised if evil is present. That is completely untrue. If that is true, then God's authority dries up at the end of the age.
- Hagin - "I go as much by what He doesn't say as I do by what He does say."
- Because of how many people are duped by the fake healing ministry of this movement, I was particularly disgusted by how he addresses why some people "lose their healing". It's not because they were never healed in the first place. Hagin attributes this recession into their old debilitated state to their lack of faith and to Satan. This is anti-biblical on all fronts. These people were never healed. A liar and a fraud like Hagin wouldn't have the power to heal people. So, when people "lose their healing", what does a liar and a fraud say in response? "They didn't have enough faith to keep it." It doesn't require much of a study of Scripture to find plenty of examples where Jesus and the apostles healed people where faith on the part of the healed was not present. If the healings done by Jesus and the apostles were dependent on faithless people and not on a gracious God, then God is really not all that mighty to save after all since He can't even keep people healed after a miracle. That is the conclusion you must come to if you are part of this movement.

To close this long review, if someone offers you this book, throw it in the fire (or keep it during a toilet paper shortage). If you are trapped in this movement, I would encourage you to think critically about the things these false teachers tell you. Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, and false teachers are not going to tell you that they are lying to you (which should be an obvious truth). Be like the Bereans, who didn't take even Paul's word for it, but searched the Scriptures to make sure what he said was true.

The Believer’s Authority By KENNETH E. HAGIN
Mike Murdock was quoted to have said that question is the seed for knowledge.
In the 1940s, Kenneth Hagin asked himself this question, “Do we have authority that we don’t know about- that we haven’t discovered-that we’re not using?
While having those questions in mind, he realized that the Holy Spirit was showing him something in that line because he had exercised spiritual Authority before then without knowing what he was doing.
Kenneth Hagin from his study, came to a conclusion that, Believers do have Authority and his study based on experiences, visions backed with New Testament scriptures, formed the truth written in this book.
He wrote that, Authority is delegated power meaning that it is given by someone or a superior power. That is why a policeman who directs traffic can stop a car by just raising his hands because authority is given to them by the government he serves.
Hagin shows us that God vested this authority in us through Jesus as Paul tells us in Eph 6:12 to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. But it’s possible to have this power and yet not use it as he illustrates in these stories;
Years ago He read of a man who was found dead in a small, shabby room he rented for $3 a week. He had been a familiar sight on the street of Chicago for about 20years, always dressed in rags and eating out of garbage cans. An Autopsy revealed that he had died of malnutrition, yet a money belt found around his waist contained more than $23,000.
That man died in abject poverty, yet he had money.
In another story, Kenneth E. Hagin tells us that in 1952, the Lord Jesus Christ appeared to him in a vision and talked to him for about an hour and half about devils, demons, and demon possession.
At the end of the vision, an evil spirit that looked like a little monkey or elf ran between Jesus and him and spread something like a smoke screen or dark cloud. The demon began jumping up and down, crying in shrill voice, “Yakety-yak, yakety-yak, Yakety-yak.” He (Hagin) couldn’t see Jesus or understand what he was saying.
He also couldn’t understand why Jesus allowed the demon to make such a racket. He wondered why Jesus didn’t rebuke the demon so he could hear what He was saying. He waited for a few moments, but Jesus didn’t take any action against the demon. Jesus was still talking, but he couldn’t understand a word he was saying- and he needed to, because He was giving instruction concerning the devils, demons and how to excise authority.
He thought to himself, if the Lord knew he wasn’t hearing what he wanted him to hear. He needed to hear because he was missing it.
He almost panicked. In his desperation, he cried out, “In the name of Jesus, You foul spirit, I command you to stop!”
The minute he said that, the little demon hit the floor like a sack of salt, and the black cloud disappeared. The demon lay there trembling, whimpering, and whining, like a whipped pup. He wouldn’t even look at him. “Not only shut up, but get out of here in Jesus’ Name!. He commanded and the demon ran off.
Because Jesus knew exactly what he (Kenneth E. Hagin) was thinking. Jesus looked at him and said, “If you hadn’t done something about that, I couldn’t have.”
In this great book of 76 pages, (My copy has 76pages) Kenneth E. Hagin shows us that;
1) Our authority or right in Christ is revealed to us when we pray the prayers of Paul as found in Eph 1:16-20.
2) The value of authority rest on the power that is behind it and God himself is the power behind our authority. Luke 10:19, 1 John 4:4
3) This authority is to be used on the devil and demons not on humans. 1 Peter 5, Eph 6:12
4) Our position in Christ.
5) How to break the power of the enemy;
6) The role of faith in authority
7) How to exercise authority
8) How we can use our authority to stand in for others in prayers.
9) How the human will can reject God’s deliverance and authority.
10) Why people lose their healing.
11) And that our authority must be Bible based therefore the study of the word is very vital in knowing our right in God.
He shared a lot more too.
He categorically stated that, in our battle against the enemy and his forces, we should keep in mind that we are above them and do have authority over them because scripture tells us that Jesus has conquered them. Our job is to enforce His Victory. God’s victory belongs to us, but we are to carry it out.

It is a great book for every christian.

OOh life changing!!

Tells you who you are in Christ, Who God the father is to you and what you have with him.
The power belongs to God but he has given us the (delegated) authority to exercise His power - all part of the inheritance of the saints. But you must catch the revelation (understanding) in the heart to fully see results. The Bible says where there is light, darkness comprehended not, therefore decree wisdom in the apparent face of ignorance. Praise God!

Great book on the scriptural view of our authority as Christians. Loved the personal stories and testimonies of how God moved in lives that dared to take authority. Also, was very balanced in that it was taught that you cannot exercise authority over someone else's life to make them do something that don't want to do. Very good!

There are books worth reading twice and this is one of them. Not necessarily because it is flamboyantly written but because it shares deep truths.

In this book, Hagin encourages us to exercise our God-given authority as believers. He gives us scriptural backup for this authority and also shares practical examples on how we can use it.

As the body of Christ, seated at the right hand of the Father in heavenly places with our head Jesus Christ, we have authority over all the devices of the enemy and his cohorts. It is our part, in fulfilling the mandate of bringing heaven down to earth, to exercise this authority to cause transformation in our communities.

This book will whet your appetite for utilizing the power of God in you and living an exceptional life.

I love how he gets into scripture to explain what he is saying. And he does not use just a verse, he uses the entire meaning of what the Word if God is saying. It is a very good read!

What I learned in The Believer’s Authority has changed how I will minister and pray from now on. What eye-opening truths reside in the pages of this book. As Believers of Jesus, we truly do have spiritual authority and should exercise it at all times! This is definitely a game changer for me. Highly recommend this book!!

Authority by definition is delegated power. As believers, we have been given power to operate with here on earth. Unfortunately, many believers know nothing of the authority that has been given to them (Luke 10:19). They really don't believe we have any authority, they believe they're barely saved and must go through life being dominated by the devil while living on Barely-Get-Along Street. They magnify the devil more than they do God. Satan has no right to rule us or dominate us. Yet the average Christian has more faith in Satan's authority and power than in God's! I admit that Satan is running the world's system down here as 2 Cor. 4:4 says. However, Satan is not running a true child of God- we are in the world but we are not OF the world.

The Author, Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin profers answers to questions such as: The source of our authority, How to break the power of the devil, How to exercise authority, Faith's role in authority.

He also shared an outstanding experience he had while praying for his older brother's salvation: I heard the Lord, in my spirit, challenge me- "you do something about it!"

I have been praying for my brother's salvation for many years. He was what you would call the "black sheep" of the family. Inspite of my prayers, he seemed to get worse instead of better. I always had prayed, "God save him." I'd even fasted. I was prone to slip back into praying this way, but after the Lord challenged me to do something about it- I said, "In the Name of Jesus, I break the power of the devil over my brother's life, and I claim his salvation!" I gave the order. I didn't keep saying it or praying it. When a king gives an order, he knows it's going to be carried out. The devil tried to tell me my brother never would be saved, but I shut my mind off and started laughing.

I said, "I don't think he'll be saved - I know it! I took the Name of Jesus and broke your power over him and claimed his deliverance and salvation." I went my way whistling. Within ten days, my brother was saved. The Word works!

The book is worth studying again and again for knowledge of the authority we possess as believers cannot be fully exhausted. However, understanding and acting will surely put us in command.

What a fantastic book!

Kenneth Hagin may have written this years ago but the truths here are of course eternal. Apart from the Bible, I believe everyone should read this book because it shows just what authority the believer has and how to use it. If every believer put even half of the content of this book into action the number of healings and other breakthroughs would multiply exponentially.

I’ve just re-read this and found it inspirational again. A book to be regularly revisited

Highly recommended

Absolutely loved it. This is a well structured and clearly presented case that provides scriptural evidence for the authority every believer has, with testimony to back its claims by a premier teacher of faith. More than a mere book, this is really really good news. I'm completely in love with the subject of my own authority, and that I get to operate in it for the rest of my life. Wow. Just wow.
