This was definitely a unique plot. I found it interesting that none of Porter's indiscretions while cheating on Winona played any real significance in the story. For the most part, it was a good read.
I think this book could have been good, it just never made it there. so much more could have been done, especially with the main character being HIV positive. Characters were developed and dropped so quickly, I was left wondering, what was the point of bringing them up at all? Others I felt would have been more central to the story were never developed at all. Storylines that lead to nowhere and an abrupt ending made me feel that either this story was completely unfinished and she had a deadline, or this was the first in a series and the next book will pick up where this left off. There was just no closure. Not sure if I'll read another of her books.
This was indeed not my typical read. However, it was interesting to read how a woman goes through her trials and tribulations. What I liked most was she was a woman who didn't fit the part of most of her struggles. She broke the mold. Very good read.
