Such a beautiful read. I love Rhona Martin books, I become totally immersed in her settings and characters.
In this story, of the life and death of Sally, you're witness to the life of a complex, tortured soul, who's survived a tormented childhood and difficult adult life. At times I became so frustrated by her, willing her to stand up for herself, to slap a few faces, to put herself first.... but this just cemented my love of this book - it was real.
Set in the sixties, filled with flawed, selfish characters, and tracing this wonderful womans journey of self discovery and her legacy, I'd recommend it to anyone. A fabulous read.
