Betty is a lifesaver when it comes to laundry. She believes that simple products, such as a bar of Ivory soap and a scrub brush, and low-tech approaches, such as soaking a stain before you wash, are the secrets to getting clothes clean and keep them looking new . Betty's old-fashioned methods and six decades of washing experience make for a fun modern-day laundry room manual.
A great little book about laundry basics. Best things I learned from this book: - only soak in cold water - I should be line drying most everything outdoors if possible. - ivory soap and a scrubbing brush is the best stain remover - always soak a stain first no matter what - how to correctly fold garments; the pictures were a bonus! - the difference between permanent press, more dry , less dry, delicates, and normal cycle settings - sorting is above all the most important step
The book was super easy to read and the short stories of her life growing up were entertaining. Worth the three hours it took me to finish it between washing and folding my laundry.
