We all know how cliché romance books are most of the time, and I'm not complaining about it, I love it. But there are times we don't want too much cliché. This book has parts of both 😁

He is the event planner who also does wedding planning (without him being gay), and she is a DJ.
But they can't really stand each other, so classic cliché for a romance book 🤩
I would say it's completely his fault! Carter has prejudices. A DJ only plays a few CDs, and that's it 🙈 Yeah, he is extremely stiff 🤣 Clubbing and partying are not his lifestyle. No judgment there from me either, because it never really was mine, too 😎 But it's still just so funny 🤣

Also, most romance books are about Christmas (when it's about holidays), but New Year's? That's not too often the main topic.

Carter and Eve are a perfect team. Yes, the dislike at the beginning was huge. The things they said to each other 🙈🤣 But it just had to be 😁 Even though they seem like they were very opposite, they don't really. They complement each other perfectly.

Yes, there is a bit of drama because of miscommunication, but it just had to be 😎 OK, I generally love drama 😁

If you are looking for something a bit different, and to celebrate New Year's Eve because you aren't much of a party girl, than this is the perfect book! The New Year's Eve celebration is 🚀

A super fun New Years romance! Talk about the two “rubbing each other the wrong way” when first met! A fun wild ride for the two as the work to make a NYE event one for the books! Another must read collaborative by Ali Parker and Weston Parker. *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.

Carter is looking for a headliner for his New Year Affair

Carter Sison is looking for a headliner for an impromptu New Years party to compete with NY City. He wants to do a different gathering of entertainers.
He met Eve Henner, an up and coming DJ. She works at some well-known clubs and has a following.
He only has about six weeks to get this done. He wants Eve to be the headliner and have other entertainers to collaborate with her.
She originally feels that he is up tight and bossy. She had her run-ins with him. She tells him she wants to have first refusal about who gets to play.
He agrees, he finds her very intelligent and knows her music.
She has problems with her parents accepting her career choice. They have basically disowned her.
So Carter and Eve spent Thanksgiving day together. They both let their persona down. She enjoyed his company, and he hers. One thing after another, they had sex.
They didn't let this get in the way of their getting this Party come together. The mayor of Beverly Hills was on board.
Will Carlson, an event planner in NY, called Eve to do a Christmas show in NY. He tried to poach Eve to perform at Times Square for the New Year eve show.
When Eve came back, she didn't call Carter. Kyle Grant, his friend and talent agent, saw on Instagram that Eve had signed a contract with Will Carlson.
Carter jumped to conclusions and thought she signed with Will and blew him off. Even though she signed a contract with Carter.
He went to her place first, blasted her and walked out, then hopped a plane to NY to let Will have it. After talking to Will, he felt like a fool.
He knew he had to grovel back to Eve. He had to apologize for his jumping to conclusions.
But he also realized that she meant a lot to him. He was falling in love with her. You must read to find out if it was a success or not.
Great story of two strong and stubborn people trying to make a successful business event and falling in love.
Great story by Ali Parker and Jacob Parker. It was a great collaboration of these two authors.

Event planner Carter Sison was passed over for the inventor gene his grandparents, parents and siblings inherited. I’m fact, to date, he has done nothing. In an effort to show his worth, he decides to throw a New Year’s Eve party for LA that could rival the BIG party in NYC.

Eve Hennie is a successful DJ who caters mainly to clubs in LA, but her parents are less than thrilled about her choice and have basically shunned her. Kyle, Carter’s talent agent buddy, watches Eve’s latest show and immediately wants to bring her on board for the NYE bash. After initial reluctance and snarky comments to said Eve, Carter agrees. After all, fame and recognition are what matter in the entertainment world.

Both Carter and Eve have family baggage, but they put it behind them as they prepare to wow Los Angeles and beyond with their NYE bash, and somewhere along they way they find each other personally as well as professionally. I highly recommend that you jump on the train for their journey. You will be surprised and awed by Ali and Jacob Parker’s enchanting, original story, the thoughtful, energetic characters, the beautiful romance, and the details that abound in planning such a large-scale endeavor in such a short period of time. New Year’s Affair has it all, so be prepared to fall in love with it.

I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.

This Book Was So Much Fun To Read

Carter is a member of a family of inventors. I guess the gene skipped him, because he doesn't know how to invent anything. He gets an idea to do something BIG to put his name out there. Why not create a New Year's Eve bash - west coast style? Yeah, that's a bit much. He needs big names to counter what is going on in New York City for NYE. His friend suggests the next best thing - a DJ that is making a big splash right now. Eve. A red-haired beauty who rocks the DJ booth.

Carter and Eve do not hit it off at first. Yeah - lightning in a bottle for the two of them. Sparks fly immediately, but they keep it to themselves. For a little while at least. They don't learn to listen to each other and it gets them both into trouble. Plus Carter is one jealous guy. But something in the two of them clicks!!

It's so cool that the writers of this story are married. You can see that in the way they create the story and characters together. Loved how this book flowed and how each flawed character learned from their mistakes. Ali & Jacob have a great thing going here.

Carter and Eve will have you turning the pages on this explosive New Year's Affair!!! It's rumored Carter's many greats grandfather invented the wheel and the inventor gene has hit each generation but somehow skipped him. Eve is a thriving DJ putting her own stamp on the mixes she uses in her shows. Not exactly the life her parents planned for her therefore disowning her in a show of tough love to bring her around. When event planner Carter envisions a New Year party in LA to rival Times Square Eve just might be the headliner he needs to pull it off... if they could get through a conversation without insults. Gasoline and water don't mix..or do they??? Taking the gloves off for one dinner to plan may seem normal but their chemistry has other plans. When rumors circulate that Eve is performing in New York for New Year's Eve rivalry time stands still for Carter and all hell breaks loose. Eve is just as hurt that Will would listen to rumors and not get the facts from her first. Will Carter give up his dream or will he fight for the woman he's fallen in love with?? They each have something to prove, can they prove it together or was it all just a dream??

New Year’s Affair follows California event planner Carter Sison and DJ Eve Hennie. Carter comes from a long line of inventors, but never seems to think of anything on his own until he finally gets an idea to host a New Years party to rival New York. Turning to his agent friend Kyle Grant, Carter is introduced to an up and coming DJ named Eve. Carter initially doesn’t agree with Kyle, and he and Eve clash, but when he finally goes to one of her shows, he sees that Kyle might just be right. Now it’s up to Carter and Eve to put aside their initial differences and work together to make Carter’s plan a success. When rival event planner Will Carlson tries to lure Eve to New York for a Christmas show, Carter worries that she will stay for the ball drop. Will Eve be convinced to stay in New York and leave Carter behind? Or will the pair work together to make their California party what Carter originally planned?

An absolutely enjoyable love story!

Carter and Eve get off to a horrible start. They clash from the moment they are introduced by Carter’s best friend Kyle who is a talent agent. As the saying goes; don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Carter is an event planner and has big plans for New Year’s Eve to compete with New York. Eve is an up and coming modern DJ. Carter is bit old fashion in the DJ world and doesn’t realize what exactly Eve really does. Things are up and down with these to during the six weeks planning this project. There is also a bump in the road with a guy from New York named Will who wants Eve to do New Year’s Eve, too. Carter and Will do not like each other. They have a great, but rough journey, and a really funny one, too (I mean laughing out loud funny). It’s a steamy journey to boot. Great writing Ali and Jacob Parker.

The chemistry between Carter and Eve practically crackles off the page. That’s both a good and a bad thing, because while it draws them together, it also leaves both of them prone to overreacting. I really enjoyed watching them together. Other than their fiery temperaments, they’re opposites in most ways and tend to balance one another out while spurring each other on to be their best selves. I also kind of fell in love with their supporting cast and hope that we might see books about some of their friends and family in the future.

This book was absolutely off the charts with chemistry and fighting it and both are strong willed and bull headed people but can they find a way to get along? Carter Sison is the only one in his family that hasn't done anything to get recognized so when he comes up with a plan to host a big new years eve party like new Yorks can he pull it off? Eve Hennie is an up and coming star as A Dj who's got a huge following and club promoters love her since she brings in the crowd with her own flair of mixing it up but when offered a job will she take it? It was great Watching these two ho head to head but when it comes to the sex it's explosive between them.Great new years eve story.

This is a lighthearted story of opposites attract. Carter wants to prove to his family that he can be successful as an event planner. Eve wants to be a DJ and her parents have disowned her for not having a normal direction in life.

Their meet cute isn’t so cute when Carter’s stuffy business persona meets Eve’s easy going DJ attitude. As they get to know each other sparks fly and they’re trying to figure out what’s going on between them.

The story peaks on New Years Eve and the HEA is heart warming and just a good holiday read!

This is the first collaboration for husband and wife Jacob and Ali Parker and I loved it!! Add this to your TBR for the new year!!

I received a free copy of the steamy LA set novel New Year’s Affair: Kiss Me At Midnight by Jacob Parker and this review was given freely.
The tension is palpable in this hate-love romance. I enjoyed watching Carter and Eve’s irritation and mistrust grow to attraction and love despite their strong personalities, reduced self-images, family expectations, and Carter’s controlling tendency.
Feeling inferior to his famous world-traveling inventor family, event planner Carter Sison enlists the help of his best friend, talent agent Kyle Grant and rising star DJ Eve Hennie to create a New Year’s party to rival New York’s ball drop.

I love it when two opposites find that they can't help but be drawn to each other and that's just what happens here with Carter and Eve. They met on New Year’s Eve in Times Square. They may be opposites but their chemistry is palpable and the air between them seems to crackle making it impossible for them to fight their mutual attraction, no matter how hard they try.

Their story flows well and although their journey involved so many ups and downs because of the support around them they were able to work things out. Jacob and Ali's story is an enjoyable sexy read that kept me turning the pages of my Kindle.

Carter and Eve will grab your attention right at the beginning when they are hardly speaking. Opposites in every way except their chemistry is explosive. He's an event planner trying to prove himself to his family of famous inventors. Eve is a talented musician and they team up to throw the party of all parties. A New Years Gala in LA that rivals New York New Years. Plenty of drama, some angst and passion galore. Well written by the dynamic duo of Ali and Weston Parker who never disappoint. I read and advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is yet another brilliant read from these authors.
Carter and Eve didn't like each other when they first meet and she refuses to work with him. But when he comes to her with an apology she soon changes her mind.
Will they be able to bring on the best New Year's eve party LA has ever seen especially when the sparks start to fly between them.
They are brilliant together in and out of work but what happens when he thinks he is losing her?
Loved how they were together and absolutely loved the ending.

A slow start to the story which set the scene for the idea of the New Years Eve party, and the story really took off once Carter and Eve met each other.
It was clear there would be fireworks with two similar temperaments from their first meeting.
With the New Year’s Eve plans going ahead there were hiccups along the way including the glitter explosion which added a little lightheartedness to the story.
The main characters each had a close friend to discuss matters with and this added more depth to a HEA and enjoyable story.

Explosive, in more ways than one. Is there such a thing as hate at first sight? Carter is determined, opinionated, always right, and has no time for people who waste his time. Eve is happy go lucky, friendly, a DJ that knows how to rock a party but when Carter insults her on their very first meeting, she’s out of there. Can they get over their obstacles and work together? This book starts off like a fighting match and then the sexual tension over takes both of them. As soon as it changes from hate to love, you know it is going to be explosive. A really good book.

This was so good! Told in first person POV by both the male and female characters, their journey to a HEA will be filled with overcoming their family’s disappointment, enemies to lovers, jumping to conclusions and very steamy chemistry and romance.

I love that both Carter and Eve felt like outsiders in their families. I love the imagination and determination of them both in their respective careers. I love their loyalty and their drama. I love that the side characters were also there to give insight and laugh out loud moments.

I hope Maddie and Kyle get their own books and that Ali and Jacob decide to collaborate on more books for us.

Carter and Eve were opposites in every way imaginable. But their chemistry was crackling on New Year’s when the ball drops in Time Square. They definitely had their ups and downs and so many supportive people. They couldn’t fight their attraction to eachother no matter how hard they tried and no matter how different they were. Jacob and Ali light up the pages with this sexy read. Hope to see more from this fun loving group of characters.

Ali Parker has written a great story for the New Year. Carter and Eve maybe opposites but they do have one thing in common. They are trying to prove themselves to their prospective families. Even though they are working together for a New Year's party, they are butting heads. Carter and Eve deal with several bumps in the road that may derail their plans. It is a great read with wonderfully written characters that will keep you glued to the story until the end.

Carter & Eve are so stinkin' cute.
He's an event planner, she's a DJ.
Should be a grand time, right?
You would think so, but of course, enter snark in the relationship.
They both agree to put on a party for NYE in LA despite all the drama they're facing in their personal lives.
Is it a recipe for disaster or an epic grand time?
Loved this book!!! It's not always you see a book about New Year's so this was FUN!!!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the storyline was interesting and well written. Carter and Eve are brought together and instantly do not like each other, like oil and water. They are working on a big event together, but have some obstacles in their path. A relationship is formed due to some pretty strong chemistry. Can they keep it no strings attached or will they get too deep? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish! I liked that neither Eve nor Carter have followed their families’ life path (Eve) nor continued the family legacy (Carter), instead choosing the professional career path that brings them joy. Of course they’ll have to learn to work together and quit being so antagonistic towards each other if they want the event they’re teamed up on to be a success. Loved seeing the evolution of their interactions change throughout the story.

Mixed Feelings

Not a fan of the premise but liked both main characters. Eve and Carter were two sides of the same coin. Both born into wealth but trying to earn their own way by not doing what was expected. I thought the chemistry between the two was good, but again as a native New Yorker, not only not fond of the storyline I couldn't believe the most obvious issue wasn't mentioned.

Came with a lot of flair

Carter, an L.A event planner, has his heart set on proving that he has found his place as a part of his family of inventors and is “tricked” into meeting Eve, a club DJ, that is on the rise of popularity. As the story progresses the meetings goes off the rails quick, eating crow may make him sick, and they will both have to trust that their growing closeness is not a trick. New Year’s Eve Affair came with a lot of flair. Each step these characters made missteps on their road to a relationship but they make up for it with sincerity.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
