Just bought this gorgeous little book about nature at different scales. The photos are stunning-- many are so abstracted you can't read them even though you know what you're looking at. I would have liked just a bit more scientific meat to the text, but that's not the point of the book, I suppose. I know I'll be spending more time pondering the details. This book is basically all pictures. There are lots of cool views of the earth up close and from a distance in the air. It would make a great coffee table book (or end table because the book is kind of small). I enjoyed looking through the pictures. There are lots of photos from Iceland, Alaska and Namibia (and other places too)! In fact there are maps in the beginning that mark where each photo was taken.
After seeing Edmaier's large format book, Earthsong (2004), with what looks like a lot of the same photos, only much larger, this book was not exciting.
