The Lost Teachings of Jesus #2

Lost Teachings of Jesus 2: Mysteries of the Higher Self

Rate this book
In Book 1 of their Lost Teachings of Jesus series, Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet demonstrate that many of Jesus' original teachings were lost. In Book 2, they go one step further. They show how early churchmen, aided and abetted by the Roman emperors Constantine and Justinian, distorted Jesus' true teachings. And robbed you of what he wanted you to know about the power of your own inner Christ. In modem vernacular, parable and story, the Prophets provide the missing links. They explain the difference between “Jesus” and “the Christ.” They show how the Church's doctrines on sin and the only begotten Son of God have obscured what Jesus really taught about salvation. And they explore how Eastern concepts like karma, reincarnation and chakras can be found wrapped in the mysteries he gave the disciples. Most importantly, they recapture the heart of his message―that you, like Jesus, can reconnect with your Divine Source to realize your full potential.

Elizabeth Clare Prophet (1939-2009) was an author, teacher, messenger of the ascended masters and leader of The Summit Lighthouse—an internationally recognized spiritual center for the advancement of inner awakening and soul liberation. For decades Elizabeth's books have been front runners in the movement for individual union with God. Millions of copies have been sold worldwide and published in more than 30 languages.
Throughout her lifetime, Elizabeth Clare Prophet walked the path of spiritual adeptship, advancing through the universal initiations common to mystics of both East and West. She taught about this path and described her own experiences for the benefit of all who desire to make spiritual progress. She lectured across North and South America, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, the Philippines, Ghana, Liberia and India. With Her husband, Mark L. Prophet, she led pilgrimages to the Holy Land, Egypt and India.
Thousands of people from across the globe attended her four yearly conferences and hundreds of students learned spiritual teachings from her Summit University retreats. Her great desire was to share a spiritual path that would take true seekers, in the tradition of the mystical paths of the world's religions, as far as they could go and needed to go to meet their true teachers, the ascended masters, the archangels and their own Higher Self, face-to-face.
Her unpublished writings, lectures and dictations from the ascended masters continue to be released by Summit University Press.

THE SECOND OF FOUR BOOKS PURPORTING TO CONTAIN JESUS’ ‘LOST TEACHINGS’

This 1986 book explains, “Every one of us is a teacher. But we sometimes forget that we have this role to play.” (Pg. 3) It continues, “We are our own man or our own woman. We are able to think the way God wants us to think---to think with our head and to feel with our heart. For we can learn to do this, as difficult as it may seem.” (Pg. 6) It adds, “If your centers are closed, you may not feel the Master Jesus’ vibration, but you’ll still hear his words and benefit from his instruction. And you’ll understand some of it, I hope, and the great significance of his Lost Teaching brought to our remembrance in these times of testing.” (Pg. 8-9)

It explains, “When we come to the realm of thought crystallization, it is far better to watch our thoughts before they manifest in the arena of action, because the karma (consequences) of thought is still not as great as the karma (consequences) of deeds. For the karma of deeds affects the lives of other people more physically and therefore often irrevocably; whereas with the karma of thought, though the effect may be more psychological, it can be healed and sealed and the damage undone ‘before it is too late,’ as they say…” (Pg. 11-12)

It continues, “we can probe the mystery of self, if we want to. Through the Masters’ Teachings, through spiritual insight, we can look ahead. And not only can we look ahead, but we can plan ahead. We can make things happen.” (Pg. 17) Later, it states, “So you have to begin to understand that many of the scriptural references are significant only in terms of the individual---you and I and our personal relationship with God and his Christ. It’s a matter of our realization of what we read and what we run with---what we know and what we are.” (Pg. 32)

It asserts, “being a manifestation of God simply means that the stream is the issue of the Source. After all, if the stream of your consciousness comes from God---directly from your I AM presence, as it is illustrated in this Chart—then isn’t that stream of God? Isn’t it actually God?” (Pg. 46) Later, it adds, “You see, the I AM Presence is an individualized and very personalized expression of our God, who is Spirit, who is living Truth, who is Mind, who is Principle---as some of our Christian Science and Unity friends like to think of the Presence of Divine Love.” (Pg. 60)

It states, “The Holy Christ is the Mediator between God and man. God is the absolute sense of Spirit is wholly perfect. He is not even aware of what we call sin or iniquity of any evil vibration. Of him the prophet declared, ‘Thou are of purer eyes than to behold evil and canst not look on iniquity…’ Therefore, he created the ‘Christ Mind’---which descended to the midpoint (the etheric octave) between or highest and lowest self-expression.” (Pg. 86-87)

It advises, “When you say the mantra aloud, you are setting up a forcefield of light around your heart. This forcefield will keep away the ‘bad vibes’ and other assorted negative energies that tend at times to make things go wrong. This is one of many practical applications of the science of the spoken Word. Through the correct use of the throat chakras such as this one, we become effectively co-creators with our Higher Consciousness… Therefore, when we affirm ‘I AM,’ we are affirming ‘God is in me’… Whatever follows … it is self-realized because it is the power of God’s name and his Be-ness that works creative change in our lives.” (Pg. 130)

It asserts, “What, then, is the answer? The answer lies in the Teachings of the Ascended Masters restored in the mystery schools---not in the soul-damning indictments of the churches of today whose impotent messages, mind you, are broadcast to the world as preachments that distort and contort the original comfort of the Word to His own.” (Pg. 180)

It asks, “Why can’t I find the answers NOW and discover my true identity TODAY? Why can’t I probe beyond the conscious mind, and the memory that chooses to forget… Everywhere the search for who and what is Real! These questions are being asked. The answer is simple, but it takes a child mind to accept it. The intellect refuses to accept a simple answer and it chooses to complicate it. Yet the highest intelligence is the intelligence of the Christ Mind that is the childlike mind. This is higher than all.” (Pg. 192)

It recounts, “At a recent conference … a lady minister of a metaphysical church … said to her roommate… ‘Does he really believe in a personal devil? Horrors!’ … Well… I’m going to say, pick up your newspaper… read some of the sensational stories there, and see for yourself if you believe people have acted rationally. And if you don’t think they have, then tell me who or what is in them that makes them suddenly take on modes of irrational behavior. Is it a force of Christ or Antichrist---Good or Evil? You decide for yourself.” (Pg. 211-212)

It states, “This which we are telling you IS the Lost Teaching of Jesus Christ. With Saint Germain, Mother Mary, and Archangel Michael, the Lord has gone to great lengths to explain to us life’ mysteries, interpreting for our benefit the outplaying of events on the world scene, giving us an overview of hundreds of thousands of years of planetary history, including our own past lives.” (Pg. 229)

It asserts, “you really can’t create social justice in the absolute sense, whether in a free society or in a communist state. It simply won’t work. There are too many inequities in any system. And inequities begin with our karmic levels. And these are self-leveling no matter what system we’re forced to function under. Water… will always seek its own level.” (Pg. 244)

It says, “The living Christ---self-realized in man of God such as the great priest/king Melchizedek, who himself came and met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him… is always the Universal Savior who makes God and his salvation accessible to his own through his best servants.” (Pg. 254)

It contends, “I believe that if a person continues in wrongdoing over and over again, he can lose his soul of become a castaway; that he can pass through the change called the second death and cease to be an individual in God … and not reembody… Yes, I believe … and I know that to be true. For we also know that this occurred with Adolf Hitler. And it has occurred with others… So this, too, is an example of the mercy of God that endures forever. For the cancelling out of that soul whose karma decrees he shall live in karmic torment forever is indeed mercy.” (Pg. 277)

This book may interest those interested in ‘alternative,’ non-orthodox portrayals of the teachings of Jesus.

Mark L. Prophet, one of the authors, began his spiritual path as a bible-quoting fundamentalist Christian. It is, thus, quite fascinating to see how a staunch Western Christian had embraced a cosmopolitan view of the bible, Christianity and spirituality in general.

In this volume, the authors had endeavoured to explore the relationship between Christianity and Eastern religions.

They are of the opinions that much of what Christ taught in regard to reincarnation and ascension have been expunged from the bible. Although they had cited a few verses from the bible to corroborate their theory, it could have been more convincing if they had shown more evidence: they quoted but a few passages.

I like the authors' opinions on dangers of reckless thinking, being scriptures-wise, we are one with God and surrender to God.

The section on the discussion of Constantinople's skulduggery, and Christian bigots' successful attempts at mutilating the bible, filling their versions of the bible with interpolation is laudable.

I know that some (religious) people have a problem with reading books that were not included in the bible, however I really enjoyed this book, it did not contract the hebraic/biblical thought process which is very important to me when reading biblically-centered material.

Este libro es mucho mas interesante que el #1 de Enseñanzas Perdidas de Jesus. Pero les recomiendo que lean los mismos en el orden establecido.
