Heidi
When Heidi's Aunt is no longer able to care for her,she is sent to live with her elderly grandfather high in the Swiss Alps.Heidi loves her new life and is devastated when she is sent to live in the city to be a complain to Clara, a sickly girl from a wealthy family. Heidi is very homesick and eventually becomes so ill that she must return to the mountains. Clara comes to visit her there and it is not long before the mountains work their magic on her, too. Heidi is a wonderful tale of friendship and hope that is sure to tug at the heartstrings of every reader.

Beautiful book from my childhood, worth reading again.

I didn't realize until now that this was an abridgment of Heidi. I always loved this book. Now I'll go read the real one.
