Giselle

He scared me away—and now he wants me back.

But does he really?

The only thing he needs from me—is what he pays for.

By the hour.

That—he can get from anyone.

Not just me.

And I want more.

I’m stupid, I know.

So, when his brother offers exactly what I desire—should I take it?

Or should I do the smart thing and leave them both and move on?

Oh boy. So this took a turn I can honestly say I didn’t quite expect. I’d wondered. At first I’d hoped, during Eve and Nick’s story. But then? Then I hoped for something else. And now? Now I have to laugh. Because Giselle has herself quite the mess here. Will it all work out? Will hearts be broken? Will we find that friendships can be recovered or repaired? And holy wow, will it all come to blows and anger before we’re through?

Trust me, you’re not expecting the heat. And the twists. And the very last pages. Because you’ll laugh while cringing and wonder who’s supposed to be the winner in this tangled web that has been woven.

Oh the Twists and Turns!!

At the end of story #1 Tempting the King, Giselle must race to her hurt daughter and steals Carlo’s Maserati to do so. Carlo has purchased her services, and she made the mistake of falling for him. She avoids Carlo now; her service will not provide her whereabouts. Ironically the man who has been biding his time, and now is assisting her is Stefan – brother to Carlo.

Full of misunderstandings, and wishful thinking. Confusion over who she has feelings for. Concern that there was no real answer to how her daughter got hurt. We are left at another climax as all characters are in the same place, and realize the current situation. Ms. York needs to release book #3 quickly!! Thoroughly enjoyable.

***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****

If I thought that the ending of book 1 was hard, boy was I wrong.

Why do this to us?

I need to get my hands on book 3.

My man Carlo had some serious apologizing to do.

But he did an amazing job.

I did not saw the twist with Stefan coming.

Can I say that I find Stefan a bit to possessive? I do not know how to explain it. Very cave man ish.

As in book 1 little Dani stole my heart.

Of there is any talk of killing it should be Lenore who dies...

So happy for Eve and Nick they are just relationship goals.

I am team Carlo.

Jessa I love your books and this is just another great example of an amazing romance book.

This is the second part of Giselle’s story. It’s super steamy, swoony and even funny. I like her personality and how sweet she is. Carlo and Stefan seem to be different than in the other books, they are less scary, more approachable and total romantics. And sweet baby Dani is adorable! I definitely want to read the next book in this series, though I don’t know if it’ll be a conclusion to Giselle’s story. I want to see Eve and Nick’s wedding also!

Oh dear….😳

Giselle flees Carlos’s house to get to her little girl….in Carlos’s EXPENSIVE car….yes you read that right, his Maserati😂 Anywho, from this point her life takes a massive and complicated turn. Stefan shows his interest in her is more than as a friend and of course Carlos inserts himself in her life via Ilona’s🙃

That ending was SUPER AWKWARD and I can’t wait to see how Giselle handles her men…

I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review😍

This is book two for Carlo and Giselle and we have more of Carlo’s brother Stefan in this one as well. This book focuses more on Giselle and Stefan with a side of Carlo thrown in for good measure. Giselle finds herself in a big predicament as she falls in love with the brothers. Each man only knows about part of her life. At the end of this book everyone collides and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

DNF…love triangle, FMC is kind of stupid…in first book she won’t tell Carlo, why she has to leave cuz then he won’t want her anymore since she has a kid, but he gets mad cuz he has no idea why she changed her mind, but she thinks it’s ok for her to basically lie to him…then this book she all about Stephen, who she has previously seen as a friend, cuz her feelings got hurt by Carlo, she jumping in bed with him, but she is lying to Stephen her, he wants me for me, not because I am paid to be here…well his buying groceries and paying your kids medical bills, and then you fuck him is the same as your deal with all your John’s…see where you are at when he finds out what you do for a living, sorry, but other than your John’s most don’t what to be where others have plowed…and most likely brothers won’t want you after knowing the other had already been there…also the mafia angle not getting that…and finally their sister Eva, why was she hooking when her brothers are billionaires and why was she living in the dump next door….basically after reading book 1 I was intrigued enough to buy this book, but if I would have known it was gonna be a triangle I would not have purchased it, but since I did spend money it gets a 1 star versus no rating…it’s my return policy on when I spend money to buy versus KU…

What tangled web did Giselle weaved😜

What a cluster fuck of a mess did Giselle, made?! Poor Carlo and Stefan, bothers who has no idea that they're both sleeping and in love with the same woman. I can't feel sorry for Giselle, because she's too stupid to see the mess she creating. She's a mother on the run with a small daughter, a prostitute, and sleeping with one brother for free, and the other pays for her services. You can't make this shit up😄😝😳😯😮, I can see that this is not going to end well. Because both Stefan and Carlo, claimed her as their own. Can't wait to see how this plays out in the next book.

This book, this cliffhanger, omg
Such an unexpected follow up of the first book, this book is unbelievable
It's great and the writing is great as always and the whole secrecy mafia vibe is very hot let me tell ya that
But this love triangle omg
My vocabulary consists of Oh My God now
Im gonna be honest, i hated Carlo's reaction to her leaving but I dont like or have a good feeling about Stefan.
I want her to be with Carlo, or both brothers if possible.
And I'm so sure they're all gonna share Giselle and Eve omg
Also Dani gives me baby fever
Great book, Jessa York

an interesting saga…

The author has really spun a web of intrigue. I don’t think this is going to be as frightening as Giselle thinks. This friendship is into sharing. It could get a little messy with both brothers being in love with the same woman, but it makes for a good dramatic read.

Right, this series is well done, but I keep wondering where the mafia piece to it is. There's hints, but zip as to where that actually comes into play. The torn between two lovers thing is done well, hate the cliffhanger, still reading the next one.

"Resisting the King" (The Sovrano Crime Family Book 2) by Jessa York was a terrific read. I loved this next part of Carlo, Giselle, and Stefan's story. This story had romance, passion, entertaining characters, family, friends, billionaires, and more. This was a fantastic addition to this series. I'm anxious to read what happens next. Highly recommend it to all fans of romance, billionaires, entertaining characters, and series.

Same review as I wrote for book 1.

I really enjoyed this book and was intrigued from the beginning. This is a new author to me so I have not read the previous crime series.
Although I loved it I was disappointed that the books are so short and they all end on a cliffhanger. Prior to starting the series, I read they are standalones and from that I thought each book was about a different character, which this is not.
The books also end on cliffhangers. I don't mind cliffhangers if we are warned about them (I tend to then wait until the last book in the series is out and then binge read them all at once). I still have books 5 & 6 to read and unfortunately I think I read that that is not the last book!! I hope I'm wrong! I also don't see the point in having so many books in what is meant to be a series when we are only getting parts of the story?
I enjoy mafia books but to me this doesn't seem like a mafia business the men are in, all you hear is how powerful and rich they are but no insight into their business, which to me makes a mafia story. Due to my above comments I have rated it lower than I normally would, 3 1/2 stars.
So if you haven't started this series - they are all short stories about the same couple and all end on a cliffhanger (as previously said I haven't read books 5 & 6 yet). Enjoy as they are very good and I also LOVE reading love triangles which this also has!

Just when thought that my head couldn't spin anymore Ms. York gives us so many twists and turns that I honestly did not see coming. Resisting the King, book two in the Sovrano Crime Family series. Book one ended with Giselle running from Nick and all hell broke out. Now there is another man vying for Giselle's heart and you will not believe who it is. Giselle has secrets to either keep or let the man that seems to take over her heart with, but in doing so will she lose him? There is one man that seems to put her and her daughter above all and makes his move but how will she react to him?

The ending or should I say cliffhanger was not one that I saw coming. I cannot wait to see how Carlo will deal with this twist that has been thrown at him. Will Giselle be able to keep him or will this cause a wedge between them?

I am so in for punishment when reading Jessa York's stories. Go from one cliff hanger to the next and I knew it was going to happen again. Giselle and Carlo had a good thing going but he was getting desperate when he could not see her so he was cut off. Then Stefan knows her outside of her work, but not knowing what she does, so he has been part of her daily life and she has also fallen for him. But now the game has changed and of course... you are left hanging by a very thin thread wanting to know how this nuclear bomb that we are left with at the end will play out. LOL I just love this agony the author puts us through.

Wow! If I thought the first book frazzled me at the end, this one just cut the rope and threw me off the cliff! Poor Giselle, she is in quite a pickle!

After realizing Carlo only thought of her as a paid escort and she was entertaining real feelings for him, Giselle let herself be open to a real relationship with Stefan. As she let things progress, Carlo shows his true feelings and Giselle is caught in the middle. We find out a little more info about Carlo's background as Eve and Nick's wedding fast approaches. Giselle finds herself loving two men! What to do? I need the third book PRONTO!

Book 2 starts off with Giselle racing to the sitter to pick up her daughter Dani who's been hurt. Stefan is there with her and both go to the hospital. Stefan oozes sensuality and masculinity yet he treats Giselle so sweet. Giselle can't resist him. And here's Carlo desperately trying to reunite with Giselle. When she does it is an explosion of carnal satisfaction. What is Giselle going to do. Not one but two men in her life in her life! But, wait they are Brothers. That Cliffhanger made me yell. Love ❤️ this series. Cannot wait to read book 3.

OH Boy did Giselle get herself into a bind in this one. My heart is breaking for her, I don't know that I would be able to choose between Carlo and Stefan if I loved them both. Two brothers who don't know they are each trying to claim Giselle as their own. Off the charts hot, smexy scenes, and my emotions were in a whirlwind. I couldn't put this book down, well not until I wanted to throw my kindle with that cliffy that put the last one to shame. I need book three like yesterday!?!

My two favourite brothers are back! Sweet Stefan is equal parts doting and devious, and Carlo is a force of nature. There are some seriously steamy scenes with both of these stunning men.

Giselle has caught herself in quite the predicament, and I can't wait to see what becomes of this love triangle in the next book!

Resisting the King is book two in the Sorvano Crime family series, and continues Carlo and Giselle's story. After leaving Carlo for a emergency another player enters the game, Stefan, Carlo's brother. One knows what she does the other doesn't, what a mess! I can't wait to see what happens in book three.

For a girl who doesn't want to get involved with anyone and just wants to focus on her little girl, she sure didn't get her message across to Carlos or Stefan! I don't think she knows what she wants anymore and now it may be chosen for her.

What an ending! Can't wait to find out what happens next.

Did I regret getting almost no sleep these past days to read all 11 books in just 4 days? No I did not. Not at all.

Why, you ask?

I haven't enjoyed a bookseries so much as I love this one in a very long time. Like it has "fanfic telenovela level" drama (which is a very good thing) but is also written well. I enjoy it so, so much.

PLEASE write a lot more!!!!

Omg!! 2 men 1 woman. They both treat her differently and love her. She has kept secrets from both. I cannot see what will happen. Will she choose or keep both. Jessa you are killing me with these cliffhangers.
