Not the father of Non Violence, but definitely its biggest cheerleader. This book provides an entry level understanding of a great human. It contains some of his letters, all of his writings, and a few very passionate court cases.
The Gandhi Reader collects the significant writings by and about Mahatma Gandhi. It takes us on a journey through his life mainly on his adulthood. The do talk some about his childhood but mainly on how he overcame the hardships he faced. It also shows how he rises and leads the lower class in a fight against the British for the rights that the Indians deserve. It was a very interesting read and kept me thoroughly entertained. Who knew Gandhi would have an exciting life! It was one of the most interesting books I have ever read.
