Something happened to love--eros, physical love--when mankind fell. The beauty was marred. The joy was tinged with sadness. Eros was defiled. Today the results of the Fall are evident in premartial sex, extramartial sex, masturbation, homosexuality, and various forms of twisted sex. John White speaks with understanding and compassion about each of these sexual sins. He concludes with a telling chapter of how local churches can be communities for dealing with sexual sin in a context of love and forgiveness.
Pretty good! White approaches this difficult topic from the perspective of a psychologist, and has lots of biblically solid information to offer. Most significantly, he acknowledges the failure of a generation of Evangelicals to approach the topic of sex with biblical humility and truth. Lots of practical advice and case-studies in what not to do in the cases of church discipline, sin, etc. Too bad it's out of print; I got my copy from eBay.
White Wash #1 Powerhouse book on sex from White pulls no punches and lands some great blows, gives comfort where it is needed, and challenges where needed as well. Direct, and does not shy away from the topic at all, and some will find it uncomfortable which is probably what they need. You may not agree with everything he says (I don't) but you will still be encouraged and challenged by the text.
The best book about sex ever written by a Christian. Done with knowledge, experience, wisdom and written with both gentle comprehension, yet firm beliefs. It will forever change your understanding and appreciation of sex.
