Uno de los libros que tenía años en mi estantería y que por pura desidia no había leído.
El Viejo John se muda con la familia de su hija, quienes deberán adaptarse a sus peculiaridades y acompañarlo mientras su salud física y mental se va deteriorando con el paso del tiempo.
Este es un libro que nos habla sobre la vejez, los vínculos interpersonales y la muerte desde una perspectiva muy amorosa.
Ya bien lo dijo Death Cab for Cutie:
‘Cause there’s no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news
And then the nurse comes ‘round and everyone lift their heads
But I’m thinking of what Sarah said
That love is watching someone die
So who’s gonna watch you die?

Y es exactamente lo que transmite el texto, pese a las dificultades que entraña cuidar a alguien, es el afecto lo que da fuerza para hacerlo, el querer a alguien que has visto en todas sus facetas, te lleva a hacer todo lo posible por acompañarlo hasta el final de sus días.
Así pues, es un libro interesante, sin ser especialmente bueno, lo recomiendo.

هدف کلی داستان رو نفهمیدم شاید برخورد سه نسل یا فقط دغدغه بودن یک فرد کهنسال در کنار اعضا جوان خانواده، راوی داستان هم مشخص نبود که پسر یا دختر خانواده بود

Another one for the children/young adult literature class.
They way it deals with death is child appropriate, but the writing style is really not my thing. And wouldn't have been when I was the age the book is aimed at.
