A sparkling, feel-good romance for Christmas. Butter tarts, mince pies, Christmas lights and a sleigh ride with jingling bells will set the mood for this Christmas tale of friendship and love.
Grace Galea doesn’t have a good track record in the romance stakes. None of her relationships have ever gone the distance, and she’s fine with that—at least, that’s what she tells herself. She works hard, parties hard and seems to have it all; except the lasting love she finds herself thinking about more and more often. After one particularly disastrous romance, she starts to re-think her priorities. She leaves her glamorous career behind and decides to travel to Canada from her native Sydney to see some of the country and catch up with her best friend of ten years, who lives in a small town in Ontario. Gabriel Twyman can’t wait to see Grace again. The handsome vet is hoping for a Christmas miracle. He’s been waiting in the wings for a decade, and it’s time for things to finally change. But will Grace fall for a charming businessman with a sexy accent before Gabriel has a chance to tell her how he really feels? Or will she finally see what’s been right in front of her the whole time?
I really enjoyed reading this book. After getting into it I found it hard to put down. A lovely romance with a collection of very likeable characters and one or two less than likeable - I found myself trying to scream a warning to Grace at one stage to steer her in the right direction. I loved the two main characters and could imagine exactly what they would be like. The mystery in the title of Twelve Gifts of Christmas had me guessing and the explanation was very cleverly done. After reading about the butter tarts with my mouth watering at the thought, it was an added bonus having the recipe included in the book. This book is very well written and I enjoyed it very much.
If you would like to read a feel-good, warm the cockles of your heart romance, then you will love this book. Easy to read and full of Christmas spirit, I couldn’t put it down. I particularly liked all the yummy food item’s mentioned and now I want to go to Canada for my very own Christmas experience. I loved it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am addicted to reading about the adventures (and romances) of these sisters! There’s the magic of Christmas, combined with descriptions of Canada as well as delicious recipes - these all make for delightful reading! Can’t wait for more…
I enjoyed reading this book very much. I definitely think it is the best of the three Christmas novels by Susan M Smith. The characters really came to life for me and made me want to know them more! I hope a follow up book is on its way. Loved the recipes included!
A charming romance with great characters. Loved Susan Smith's previous novel, The Christmas Cruise, and was very much looking forward to this book. I wasn't disappointed. A great read!
