Keitaro Urashima is the only boy living in Hinata Lodge, an all-girl dorm. Despite the fact that he's kind of a screw-up, the competition to hook up with him is fierce, and hilarious cat-fights ensue. An already tumultuous living situation escalates to an uproar when Keitaro and the girls get the news that their home will transform into a commercial inn, with strangers from outside their school as guests!
Man, I remember borrowing this from my uncle, not really sure what it was about. When I got my hands on it though, I thought ecchi was equivalent to hentai. This was considered porn for me then. It’s a funny moment to look back at 😂
Keitaro Urashima is shooting for the prestigious Todai University to keep a promise he once made to a little girl in a sandbox nearly twenty years ago. And failed each entrance exam.
Dejected and homeless, his grandmother Hinata proposes that he work for her at the Hinata House as manager in her stead. In this sense, he now not only has a job, but a place to stay! But the catch is... he's the only male there! And on top of that, all the girls are rambunctious, fiery, and want to tear his clothes off to search for a strange "treasure"! What ever is a nerdy pervert to do?
First of all, I quite disliked this book. It was a book only suited for sex craved adolescents that can't quite get any of the real deal. Although, I must admit the last two chapters were strangely intriguing. The story seemed to mature away from the perverted ways of stripping Keitaro's clothes (but don't take me wrong, the clothes stripping did not cease). All in all, despite the hype, Love Hina is not a series worth reading unless, of course, you're new to anime and you don't mind many of nude scenes.
Very fast read, so if you're really that curious, at least you won't waste a lot of time on this. And that's the nicest thing I can say about it.
Ok, so it's not all bad. By the end it was growing on me like the manga does. And that sounds way dirtier when you look at the cover. Sorry.
So. The Love Hina manga is utterly ridiculous and full of snap judgements and misunderstandings. Frustrating in manga form, maddening (for me) in novel form.
I adored the Love Hina anime (a gift from my partner for Valentine's Day one year) and this novel captures the same spirit as the anime (I haven't yet read the manga though I intend to).
The illustrations were great and I laughed out loud while reading. If you are a fan of the series I recommend checking it out.
