Some of the adult characters (Principal "No-Man", Chief, several teachers) seem more like exaggerated stereotypes than real individuals, but the kids are interesting and most seem real. The outcomes of various dilemmas and investigations seem to be a little too pat and handled too easily. I did enjoy the story, though. I think Callie learns some valuable lessons, and I think this is a great story for being who you are and not being ashamed about what you are not.
