This was an absolutely fantastic book! At first, I was unsure if its relevance to my life (just a thing of personal situations I face, not a reflection on the book itself), but I gained so much from it! I will definitely reference it in the future!
I found the book very good understandable. I found a lot theoretical and practical advices for a good leading of my life and another people. Linette helped me to organize my plan for the future by finding my vision and mission and purpose statement of my life. She showed me how important is a good leader ship and communication skills. She encouraged me as a woman and pushed me to find the way how to improve my communication, public speaking. She showed me nice techniques how to be more successful and patient on the way to the successes.
This is a Power-up and inspirational book for any woman who is career oriented & striving to be more successful. Author Lynette Lewis, stresses the importance of planning for you future by finding your vision, mission & purpose statement in life; reaching your professional and personal goals. She provides techniques to be more successful and patient while on your path to success, i.e. how to develop your leadership skills and improving your communication skills. This is a great book, highly recommended.
I can relate to Lynette's message. I felt like she was speaking directly to me. I have had the opportunity to speak with Lynette and feel she is an geniune as the book. I love the concept of "being whole"; it explained a lot about the women I encounter everyday and gave me something to strive for as I move through my career and interactions with other women (even men). I recommend reading this book.
Everyone should read this book, especially every woman. It doesn't matter if you're climbing the corporate ladder, managing your home, starting your own business or working in ministry this book is inspiring. Lewis begins by helping you hone in on your personal goals, purpose and mission. She teaches you how to deal with difficult people and how to survive feeling overworked, unappreciated and underpaid. This book will help you identify your goals and help you succeed!
Definitely a power-up for women, this book encourages both men and women alike to hustle while waiting for God's best. Indeed, most of the time we cannot just let things happen, but we need to make things happen, not in a rebellious, self-sufficient way, but in a wise view of the opportunities and open doors that God has set up for us to discover and open.
A fun quick read for women looking to reaffirm and reorient their personal and professional goals. Sometimes a bit schmalzy as well as a bit victimizing of women in the workplace, but the later chapters on building a personal board and establishing good mentors are particularly useful.
Great, inspirational book for any young woman who is career oriented and feels torn over whelmed, over worked, under paid, or not appreciated. This book put a few things into perspective for me! Highly recommend!
This is written by the wife of one of the pastors at my church - it's loaded with practical tips for women in how to grow in your career. Lynette also has a wonderful blog and if you have the opportunity to hear her speak, it's definitely worth it!
This is a terrific book. It focuses on women's leadership but it holds great lessons for all. I loved Lewis' ending paragraph, "You are a gift to the world. So put on whatever shoes make you feel beautiful. We are in this climb together, cheering one another on each step of the way."
A treasure of wisdom from an amazing woman who lives out the principles of this book. A must read for anyone beginning their career in the corporate world (male and female).
I met this woman at a church I was going to and she is fabulous! The book is about making it in the corporate world, but it's mostly about staying true to yourself and living your life positively.
definitely learning alot from this book..and it also enables you to participate because there are practical exercises in every chapter..a must read for women
it was such a pleasure to meet and talk with Lynette, and her book is such a vital tool for helping see and go after your dreams, and inspire others to do the same !
