I read this book on a lark. I was at our local public library looking for something to read. Nothing was catching my attention. I came across this book, and it literally was a "judging a book by its cover" and I checked it out. And, I enjoyed the read.
New York photographer Kelly Santos returns to her home town of New Orleans after Sister Grace dies. The nun had been the only loving influence in her life while she grew up in St. Anne's orphanage. It was Sister Grace who had given Kelly her first camera; she went on to become a professional, always hiding behind a lens, living separate from others. But with good reason. Kelly has a unique psychic gift which as often separated her from other people.
Upon touching a newspaper on a coffee shop table, Kelly senses a chain of events that lead to murder. Kelly reports her knowledge to the local police who scoff at her information; that is, until a victim surfaces that meets her exact description. The police suspect Kelly of committing the murder except for Jack Callaghan, who has previous experience with Kelly's "gifts." Further, when Kelly touches Sister Grace's rosary, she realized the nun had been murdered as well. Little does she suspect that she herself may have been the link between the murders and that she is in terrible danger.
As with any popular book you have to have a love angle. Kelly and Jack develop a passionate romance even as danger throws them ever closer together. Furthermore, combining the elements of a police procedures with the paranormal results in a gripping tale which will keep readers turning the page. FLASH POINT was an enjoyable read with a moving plot that keeps readers engaged. I am glad I picked it up.
Some great reading. I literally could NOT put it down and read it in the course of a day. A sexy mystery novel and although some of the passionate love scenes were enough to make me chuckle whilst I rolled my eyes skyward, nonetheless, it still grabbed you and made you want to keep going to try and solve who the murderer was. All in all, it held me enthralled and I can't wait to read some more of Metsy Hingle. Recommended.
