I'm giving an entire extra star based on reviewing it for the book it was as it was written 15 years ago. It is wickedly difficult to find books on PMOs and so I went into this one skeptical of the age but not feeling like I had a lot of other options. PMOs have been around a long time but when you want to get into the nitty gritty of setting up a PMO, looking at metrics, making a business case, deciding what kind of PMO to be, you don't have may research options. This book is exactly that. It was a little difficult in points since much has changed in the decade and a half since this was published, especially regarding Agile development. So, while I could translate giant portions of this book into current parlance, it was a translation since made of the modes or techniques for actually managing projects are a smidge outdated. Still, I read it with a highlighter and a pen and made liberal use of both of them. Even if it didn't give me all the answers, it gave me the right questions to ask to start to get some of those answers myself.
Excellent book on PMO which covers various aspects such as strategy, planning and implementation of PMO IT, Organization and enterprise levels. A cookbook for PM profession to set up PMO practices.
Good book about PMO and Portfolio. For me the title was very powerful comparing with the content. I was expecting something related to the calculation of PMO ROI. Despite this it is a very good book about the topic.
Bom livro sobre PMO e Portfólio. Para mim o título é muito poderoso comparado com o conteúdo. Eu estava esperando alguma coisa relacionada ao cálculo do ROI do PMO. Apesar disso o livro é muito bom para o assunto.
