Seven earthlings are snatched from their homes. Imprisoned together in a spacecraft hurtling into the unknown, they must work together to resist the species of virile aliens intent on making them their companions.
Just your average writer/reader who loves to write what she wants to read. These books are primarily for my own guilty pleasure. Feel free to see if you like them too!
I particularly enjoy slow-burn erotic romance with complex characters and dark undertones. Though I still love a raunchy quickie!
This book could have been 4\5stats but there were just too many MC. By the time you get to know one set of characters, another set is introduced. There was just way too much going on.
G. M. Marks has done it again. I've read her a few of the books in her Unnatural Instinct series. The books in that series are NOT for everyone and the same can be said for this series as well. Some of the elements portrayed in the Unnatural series can be found in this book as well. Senitive topics, out of the box views and thinking, controversial even but that's right up my alley, again, not for everyone and that's OK.
We have seven earthlings abducted from earth to be the 'companions' of aliens. Initially, I thought it would follow the same pattern as past books I've read and some of the many others out there. But I was pleasantly surprised we were given realistic traumas to work through along with the characters. How Marks was available to fit the emotions, conflicts and resolutions into one book amazed me all while juggling so many POV's. I can guarantee though that it did not distract from the overall progress and emotional complexities of the book.
As with any couple their progress all progressed differently and in its own time which I liked. No insta-love here. The story was well paced but at times dragged for a bit, this is in no way a major complaint and I can't say that I really have any. I can't wait to see where Marks takes us in the future installments.
Only read if you enjoy surprise cliffhangers. While the story was ok, the cliffhanger annoyed me enough that I will skip the rest of the series and pass on this author in the Future.
