I don't usually like Lena Mattews, however, this book received such high ratings, I thought I'd try it. I even borrowed it from another Kindle owner because I didn't trust buying it (and I haven't done that in at least 2 years). I must say, I think this is the best LM book I have read thus far. I really enjoyed this read. It was Ty and Charlotte. Ty is a cowboy and Charlotte is a city girl. Now, I might be about to head straight into a cowboy phase (because that's how my reading spurts go), and later this book might not appeal to me as much, however, I thought the book was sweet and the perfect length. There was also no huge amount of focus on the whole black white thing or the physical attributes of either (it got close, but a survived). In all, I would loan this book to a friend. TTFN-Elise

Silly me!
I read "For Love´s Sake Only" after "The Blacker The Berry"...
But even in reverse order, these two stories were fantastic and both worked as stand-alones, if I can say so, for such rather short reads.
This was about half the page length than the other one, and therefore a little bit rushed in the relationship department but the dialogues...oh, the dialogues!
They totally made up for it!
Sparkling, funny, showing the scintillating wit of the two congenial protagonists.

A great well-written story I would definitely recommend!
I will have to check out the other books of this author.

I truly enjoyed this story. I couldn't wait to read the book to follow. I am loving the way this author writes and the fact that she has so many interracial tales. She is a must read for me. I am plowing through as many of her books as I can during my hiatus from work.

The heart wants what the heart wants...

... and there is no sense in fighting it. That 's just what this cute couple did. One look and that was all it took for Charlotte Sane and Tyson Wilcox to fall instantly in love. Charlotte had to get over her read of messing up Ty's business because of small town attitude towards her color not being the right one for Ty. The thought of losing Charlotte was more than Ty's heart could take. He was not letting her leave. She was not only his world but his galaxy and he was going to convince her. The thought of being without Ty was just as frightening. Once he convinced her to stay, he hauled her butt to the justice of the peace as soon as he could. They were such a sweet couple. I enjoyed reading this story and I can tell Charlotte's friend Tamara is a mess. She's going to be a handful.

Yes! The chemistry between these two was immediate. The banter funny, sexy, and sweet. I laughed out loud so many times in this book. If it wasn't the heroine Charlotte delivering great quips it was her trusty, loyal, fabulous best friend Tamara. And let's not forget Ty. I love a man who knows what he wants, claims it, and doesn't let anything or anyone get in the way. Tyson was determined but also loving and respectful. "Watching" this couple come together was fun and entertaining. So glad I stumbled upon this treasure. Can't wait to jump back onto the FB reading group to give thanks for leading me to this series. Great job Ms. Matthews!

Cute lil read

What a cute lil read. I stumbled across this sweet read while taking a much needed break from another story. i was kinda of struggling. Then Amazon sent me a recommend reads email. And I'm happy I clicked this story. Charlotte and Ty were adorable. The entire story was adorable, sexy, funny and worthy of going on to the next book in this series. I usually don't like novellas. But this one was perfect and it read smoothly and is taking me to the continuation of the rest of the story. Wonderful job Thanks Ms Matthews.

Growing from an Instant Attraction

Ty and Charlotte are from two different worlds, but a chance encounter sparks a romance. The plot moves at a good clip and Matthew’s lets their racial differences have some space and room to surface conflict without them overpowering their connection. While most of the culture clash is on the FMC’s side, the MMC also has to do some growing and adjusting to get to their sweet HEA (via spicy scenes). The best friend is a hoot and has my name, a nice bonus for this reader that I don’t see often in character names.

What a hot sexy love story

From beginning to end we are immersed in a sexy story of two individuals brimming with intense sexual chemistry, the attraction between ty and Charlotte is immediate and you can feel it through the pages, and it was a delight to read their love story, I haven't enjoyed both main leads at the same time in a long time, but I enjoyed them and this story

Awwwww too cute!

This book was so cute. I read it in just a few hours and it was definitely worth my time.
Love at first sight must exist, even if only in the realms of literature.

Good Quick Read

Though not long by my standards it was well fleshed out and it didn’t feel rushed and the love the characters, humor and the boot knocking!

Give it a go...I actually bought the series so I have a good feeling I’ll enjoy the others.

Very short and pretty cute. It was 85% smut, which was unexpected considering the publishing date. However, the bits we got of Ty and Charlotte's flirting/banter was cute.

I couldn’t settle on anything to read the other day and did a quick looks through my ebook folder and low and behold – I met upon two of Ms. Matthews books that I have not yet had the pleasure..

Ms. Matthews is one of my favourite interracial authors and these two books did not let me down. In FOR LOVE SAKE ONLY, which just happen to be the third book in the Loose Id Spurs & Mistletoe series, I met up with Charlotte Sane at a rodeo and she not enjoying it at all..

Charlotte is a city girl through and through and cowboys doing what looks to be not pleasant things to some poor horses is not her cup of tea. Not prepared to sit around and watch the highlights get any gorier than it has already, she makes her way to the offices to at least get some work done.

Meeting Ty Wilcox is not part of the plan when she set out, but Charlotte being Charlotte she takes the meeting in her stride and gives Ty as much sass as he was giving her back.

The attraction between then is instantaneous and Ty is not willing to have this pint size mouthy woman walk out of his life without knowing more about her.

What follows next is such a fun read. Ty and Charlotte does not waste any time and the only source of disagreement is literally about how soon Ty can convince Charlotte that home is wherever he is.

I really enjoys this book, not only did I laugh out loud as some of the home girl slang Matthews peppers the book with, but there was a nice balance between Ty and Charlottes personality and I cannot imagine them not being together for the long haul.

The main characters for her next book was nicely filtered into FOR LOVE SAKE ONLY and they did make an impact and I was very eager to see what Ms. Matthews do with their characters…

If I had any grouse with this book it would be the cover – I do remember a time where there was a loads of cover like that. I didn’t like it then and I don't like it now…

Great book – I will be checking out the other two books in the Spurs & Mistletoe series

I have to say that I really liked this story overall! I liked reading about how Charlotte met Ty and it was "love at first sight" particularly after reading about them briefly in "The Blacker the Berry." This was a quick read that had blazing hot sexy scenes with both characters and I enjoyed the way the author wrote their story.

Fans of the The Blacker the Berry should give this story a go, you won't be disappointed!

Though this book was short and steamy, it was rather hilarious at times. Charlotte and Tamara are two very humorous witty people. The awkwardness of interracial dating for black women could have been expounded upon in more depth. However, the Author very tastefully chose another route. But overall...it was well written. I especially enjoyed the imagery of Ty being big and Fyne!!! A Tall glass of milk. Just like I like it.

This first story was actually pretty good. It was short and sweet and although it was a sexually charged story actually had some substance. It was very refreshing en-light of other stories I have just finished that have been full of stereotypes and sex and nothing more. All the characters where likable and the black women in the story were not over the top and ghetto as hell.
