There’s a war waging inside Bane, and Jules might be his only lifeline.

Bane Saunders doesn’t have much time left.

His inner grizzly has gone berserk. Without his missing soul mate to anchor him down, he might devolve into a dangerous beast. But there’s still hope for Bane. The omega he saved years ago might be his salvation, but Bane was never cut out to be anyone’s mate. When Jules stumbles back into Bane’s arms, badly injured and marked by a dangerous predator, Bane realizes he’s made a terrible mistake. He lost Jules once, but it won’t happen again.

Jules Hagen’s days are numbered.

He made one fatal mistake years ago, and now he’s being hunted by a tenacious master vampire. With no place left to go, Jules flees to Moon Burrow and back to Bane. Everything changed when Bane saved his life years ago. Jules has always pined for Bane, but Bane made it clear he doesn’t feel the same way. When Jules discovers Bane needs him as much as he does, maybe there’s a flicker of hope for the two of them.

Bane is an m/m shifter romance and the fifth book in the Moon Burrow Bears series. It contains mpreg, vindictive vampires, an unstable biker bear, and his tenacious mate.

Nice addition to the series, lots of editing problems

Bane and Jules were really good together and the way they came together with Zack and Thad to take care of the vampires was great. And I am so glad Christian will also get a book.

The only downside was a really large number of editing issues: misspelled words, wrong words (“sounding” instead of “soundly”, for example) which kept distracting me from the story. Nevertheless, I continue to enjoy the connected stories across these series.

The last time I read a book in this series was almost exactly a year ago. I walked into this story blind, with very vague understanding of what was going on. That being said, since each book is about a different couple, each novel could technically be a standalone.

Moon Burrow Bears always seems to make me more interested in the hinted bonds between side characters (foreshadowing future books) than the MCs, but when I finally get to them I'm bored. I've fallen for the trap a few times now, I don't think I need to read the remaining 5 books (not including short stories or prequels). Once you've read 1, you've read all 10, yk?

I just can't seem to get into this series, but I love the author - so I'll give it 2 stars rather than 1. It's giving "I have bills to pay."

When Jules was a cub, Bane came to his omega's father's rescue when he was attacked by a rogue. It was too late for Jules' father but he saved Jules life. Ever since then Jules has believed that they were meant to be fated mates. Bane didn't feel the same way. Jules was horrified when Bane and his brother were attacked and exiled from the pack. He missed Bane but when Bane didn't come get him, he decide to leave the den and make it in the big city. Jules quickly found himself in danger but was rescued by a powerful vampire. The vampire made Jules his toy and food source in return for protection. Jules really hated himself and finally got the nerve up to return to his den. The vampire isn't giving up though. Jules returned to a pack that was being torture by polar bear shifters. Jules figures out that the den's only hope is to get Bane and his brother's help. After being beaten, Jules runs for help. Bane and Bash take care of the polar bear shifters and Jules hopes that Bane will finally claim him but Bane just ignore him. Jules returns to his old den just in time for the Vampire to find him. Now Jules is on the run for his life.

Bane feels like he is unworthy of being a mate. He and his bear have done horrible things and he feels like he has a monster inside. Meeting Venom has calmed his bear and now he feels like he has a den and a home. When Jules enters his life again, he still feels unworthy of being anyone's mate and pushes Jules away. However after Jules left, his bear is on a rampage. It wants its mate, Jules. Bane is very close to going feral when a human drags a dying Jules back to their den. Maybe Jules needs a monster to keep him safe.

I have so many thoughts about this one. Let me start by saying that I love this series. They are such feel good stories with these lovable characters. While the editing issues and name swaps really perplex me, I can easily ignore them most of the time because the stories are so nice. With that being said, Bane made me so mad.

Let’s talk about Bane for a minute. He has seen so many of his shifter friends get control of their beast after finding their mate. So what does he do? He sends Jules away and then wonders why he can’t control his bear any more.

Bane finally acknowledges that Jules is his mate and wants to be with him then proceeds to “take things slow” leading Jules to believe that there is something wrong with him. Ugh.

Jules gets hurt and needs pain meds. Bane doesn’t want Jules involved in solving the vampire problem. What does Bane do? Bane drugs Jules with sleeping pills when he gives him his pain meds. Let’s forget that shifters are supposed to have a high tolerance, I mean, they can’t get drunk but they can get pain meds and knocked out with sleeping pills. Also, what happened to that shifter healing ability, huh? But I digress. My biggest issue here is that Bane drugged his mate and they never talk about it. Ew.

Jules was, of course, adorable and I loved him. I also loved that we got to visit with several past characters and their babies. I loved that we met some new characters, especially Greed and Christian. But overall, this one left me wanting. The resolution with the vampire was a little anticlimactic, the baby aspect was a little lackluster and the overall feel was slightly rushed. Here’s hoping the next installment is a better read for me.

This is the fifth book in the Moon Burrow Bears series. I loved this book. Reading about the Moon Burrow Bears is like putting on a warm, comfy sweater. It instantly makes me relax and enjoy the book. This is the story of Bane Saunders and Jules Hagen. Bane is an enforcer for the Grizzly Reapers MC and twin brother to Bash. He is a grizzly shifter who is slowly lossing control of his bear. He knows who his fated mate is but believes the younger man deserves someone much better than him. So he sends him away. Jules on the other hand has been trying to pick up the pieces of his life when his mate sent him away. He made a few bad decisions and now he’s being hunted by a tenacious master vampire. After an attack, Jules is near death when his new human friend Christian brings him to Moon Burrows. He just wants to see Bane once more before dying. Fortunately, Bane and others aren't going to let that happen. This is their story. Trying to build a new relationship while trying to escape a master vampire would be stressful for anyone. Let alone new mates. I really enjoyed this story. It was well written and easy to read. There are a few name errors but it doesn't detract from the story. I look forward to the next one in this series.

- a MM shifter romance! bear x bear, omegaverse, second chance, fated mates, motorcycle club, MPreg, found family, hurt/comfort!
- i am very worried about Jules and the danger he is in
- i am also very worried about Bane and how feral he is becoming
- i know he’s not a shifter but i want Christian to have a HEA too 🥺
- oh goodie chapters from the bad guy again, they make me so anxious!!
- these two are so angsty with each other, GET BABY MAKING
- Bash having the idea to build a house next to theirs made me want to weep, he’s my fav alpha
- FINALLY FOR THESE TWO OMG, their sex and mating scene was perfect!! even If it was at Bash and Colin’s house 😂
- this third act conflict lasted a WHILE in this one as there was so many elements!!
- the fights were done SO good and i’m so glad those vampires are gone, they were scary
- my plan was to read the raven books after this series but i fear i should of read it in between because i have missed several things 😂

I was so glad when Book 5 came out. Happy for Bane to get his second chance with Jules. Now I did have some reservations just like Bash did with Jules...wasn't sure if his feelings were true...his behavior and attitude in Book 4 wasn't all that great but he somewhat redeemed himself in this one so I was OK...Bane needed him to keep the beserker away. I think if there was a little more flashbacks to when Jules was younger and showed more of his feelings and antics with Bane, then it wouldn't show him as a user to achieve his selfish goals...I do think bringing in a new character...Christian was a good move...befriending Jules made him more of a likeable character and a good and deserving mate for Bane. Sooooooooooo while all that is going on, there is a threat looming over their newfound relationship...I will say this...the way Bane and crew dealt with the threat was not at all predictable...I was so surprised...it really wasn't a climax...a little violent but I wasn't at all disappointed because I was ready for the healing, more romance and BABIES...LOL...I definitely was satisfied with their HEA and can't wait for more stories:).

Part of the Moon Burrows Bears each book can read as a standalone with a shifter and the mate he finds but thinks he doesn’t deserver for one reason or another. Bane a grizzly shifter on the verge of going feral due to not finding his mate, no matter how hard he has searched but to no avail and now if he doesn’t find his he most definitely will go feral he saved an omega once but locating him maybe his answer. Jules is in trouble with a vampire the only he trusts to help him is the grizzly bear who helped him so many years ago but he gets injured on his way but with a good friend who takes him to the bear he remember and they both need to get him there before he dies. Both of the have been looking for the other Bane nearly feral and Jules hurt by the vampires the thing is he wanted his grizzly back then but Bane didn’t want him or so he thought can they connect enough to work together, can they help one another in time to have something more, will Bane heal his omega, and can they both heal each other enough to find happiness?.

Learn to Communicate !! . . .

Bane Saunders’ grizzly bear is going feral and will have to be killed for the protection of others if he cannot find his soul mate in time. In the past, years ago, he had saved an Omega. If he could find him, maybe there is a small bit of hope for him to survive this? Yet Bane knows he is not a good mate for anyone. So when Jules Hagen is in trouble with a powerful master vampire, he runs to the only one who can save him, the grizzly who rescued him years ago. But Jules is attacked and injured by the vampire and his friend, Christian, takes him to Bane who can take him to the healer. (Bane is not pleased to see Christian touch Jules.)

Jules has never forgotten Bane and has wanted him since they first met. He knows Bane doesn’t want him… at least he didn’t back then. But finding out Bane is also in serious trouble, will they take a chance on each other? Can they get over their issues? Will Bane tell Jules how he actually feels about him? And are they ready to become mates?

Glad Bane didn't go full beserk shifter

I didn't like Jules in the previous book and I still had problems with him now but he did redeem himself to an extent. I liked Bane but he was also problematic because he'd seen his friends get control of their bears once they found their mates and he still didn't want to give Jules his mate mark. I just wanted them both to grow up and accept that they were fated mates.
The book had the usual typos, grammar and editing errors which could so easily be fixed and it's such a shame because the stories are actually good, but it's so frustrating to be constantly pulled out of the story every time.
What I did like was seeing Zack and Thad again, as well as more of Bash and Colin and their adorable son, and I liked Christian very much and I'm glad he's getting his own book next.

Sometimes guys have to get out of their own way. Bane saved Jules and another omega during a stressful time in their Den. Then he rejected Jules thinking Jules could do better than him. Present day, Bane and his bear are loosing touch. Now, Bane's bear is loosing his perspective and on the edge of going bezerk. Bane, starts thinking of Jules more and more. Jules, made a few mistakes then realizes he's endangering his Den and needs to leave. He thinks of Bane and heads to Moon Burrow. Their journey is not easy. There are a few miscommunications, crazy choices and some serious bullheadedness. Good story, nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. Really nice cover art!

Bane is becoming feral and doesn’t know why. Jules is hiding from an old vampire. Jules heads to Grizzly Reapers MC to Bane who has always been the protector. Unfortunately the vampire bounty hunter finds where he is. A human, Christian helps him but Jules is badly hurt and Christian takes him to the club house. Bane flips out when another biker try's to help Jules and goes berserk fighting everyone. After recovering Jules has trust and communication issues with Bane. Bane fears he will hurt Jules and there is still a vampire hunting Jules. Bane and Jules have to learn to work together so both can heal.

I have absolutely loved this series and am extremely lucky to have received an ARC from the author via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.

I was sucked into Bane and Jules relationship when we first met them in Bash’s book. They are such a complex couple and really needed their time to shine.

Jules has always been drawn to Bane ever since he was saved as a small child by the two brothers. It’s only fitting that they find their mates within each other.

I loved reading this book and am extremely curious about what’s going to happen with Christian.

I have been impatiently waiting for this book that I read it in one sitting, and way too late in the night (morning) and didn't get a lot of sleep. I am so glad that we finally get Bane and Jules book! I loved the connection and chemistry between these two but also the pain they share. These have their own issues that they have to work through but also a vampire from Jules' past. I really enjoyed the drama, emotion, suspense, and HEA. I can't wait for Creed's book next.

What's not to love about this?

Little by little, Bane is losing himself to his beast. The consequences aren't good. Not having his mate to tether him is proving difficult.

Omega Jules is in danger from a vampire. His only hope may be the grizzly that saved him. A few tough and go moments occur, but ultimately, he makes it to Bane's side.

Their connection is touch and go, but in order to survive, they must save one another. Can they? A wonderfully crafted story of love, need, emotions and healing.

'It had been a terrible mistake letting Jules go, but it would never happen again. I made that silent vow to myself.
Those who knew me understood I kept my promises.'

I've really enjoyed the Moon Burrow series, and this book was no exception. Good world building. I loved Jules. I thought he was sweet, and he's been through a lot. I liked Bane too, though he was stubborn with an out-of-control grizzly- a problem Jules was the perfect fix for. The trouble with the vampires kept things in suspense. Looking forward to the next book in this series. 4 stars.

I am in love with this series and world! This book definitely did not disappoint. Bane and Jules have such amazing chemistry, history and shared pain. It takes Jules being hunted and almost killed by a sadistic vampire for Bane to realize that fate is right! This book is well written, steamy, and oh so good. I cannot wait for greeds book next. Also looking forward to Christians story!.

I am so happy that Bane finally got his happily ever after. I enjoyed the story like I did all of the past stories in the series. Bane is such a stubborn bear! Jules is such a sweet and strong omega that has horrible luck. Thankfully ending up with his fated mate settles things

There were some name swaps that weren't caught in editing and some other gramical errors. but that happens, they always seem to be daughter after publication is made, I'm sure they will be fixed in no time.

Escaping the Past

Bane was a grizzly bear shifter, that was out of control. He'd walked away from the only person that could calm the beast and him. Until one day Jules showed up injured to the point of death. Bane knew he wouldn't let this chance slip away. Jules was on the run from is ex, a vampire who wouldn't let him go. Jules knew that Bane was his mate, he just had to convince Bane. I enjoyed their journey.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Bane is losing control until Jules returns to Moon Burrow looking for help. They are mates and this time, Bane finally claims Jules. Although not all is smooth sailing with a master vampire trying to claim Jules and has to be dealt with. I like how they do this and the unexpected consequences that happened.

Continuing Moon Burrow shifter love story

A great fated mates story! Bane is almost feral without a mate to calm him. Jules is running from a crazy vampire. They once knew each other but separated. Now is their chance for their love to grow. I really enjoyed the dynamics between Bane and Jules and all the side characters.

This series is good and I continue to enjoy the storyline. This book felt slightly different than the others but I did still enjoy it and would recommend it. They MC's worked out their issues in lightening speed, much faster than normal. But they have known each other for years. I liked hearing the backstory about how they met. I do hope Christian gets his own book.

Great Addition to Series

I enjoy the author's writing style and became invested in the MCs' lives. I like how I get a chance to reconnect with other characters who have their own story. I'm hoping to see more of Christian and that he gets his own HEA.
