Hedley Paul "Ned" Willmott was a widely published military historian, author, former Senior Lecturer at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has written extensively on modern naval and military history.
He had retired and lived till his death in Surrey, England.

Most military history books look at a single event. This one looks at a single month. It is an interesting perspective on a single month of World War II. It makes you realize that it truly was a world-wide conflict.
