This book is really funny. I enjoy reading Geronimo's books rather than Thea Stilton's. His books are funny and he uses "Rodent Language" which i love. Geronimo's Christmas has never been so horrible or him. He got into all sorts of trouble but his family members helped him out.b
As someone who teaches English to children I try to read some books that are directed at them, so that I am able to recommend them or not to my students. I have always enjoyed Geronimo Stilton and this book is funny but simple which makes it really easy to read. I will definitely recommend it to my students.
Confession: I did not finish this book. I started reading it to my 8 year old daughter, but she decided to read the rest on her own. This is the first “official un-graphic novel” that she has read! I’m so proud!🥲❤️
Never realised how pessimistic Geronimo truly is, and one can't really blame him either considering how most of the time, things go wrong for him. He's like the mouse version of wimpy kid, sucking up to everybody and meeting their demands, not arguing, and accepting everything that comes his way. The Benjamin initials section had me dying of laughter. Guess that part was lost in translation or the author just thought that kids wouldn't realise. It's way more structured than the previous Stilton book I read and has more of a Christmas Spirit tone but still, not enough to help me enter it. 2 more to go :)
Stilton too is made of money and him acting all humble doesn't help. Trap is still one of my least favourite characters but he sure was a great help in this one. So was Thea. The Christmas Eve dinner was a success even after all the tragedies that befell the main character. I suppose the moral of this tale is that giving and being present is more important than receiving presents. Also to think of those who are less fortunate, but that could be said of any time of the year haha
Our girls really like the Geronimo Stilton chapter books. I think they are quite corny, but they are fun and filled with action and adventure. We've also read a few of the graphic novels. I prefer to read the chapter books aloud, but our girls are enamored with them both, so I humor them.
This story was a depressing Christmas-themed read that ends happily, but is so unbelievable, it really takes away from the story. One disaster after another occurs to poor Geronimo and while a silver lining seems to be behind every cloud, it just isn't that enjoyable of a story.
interesting quote:
"Wow. Someone has his cranky coat on today." (p. 83)
I think this book was great because he never gave up to find his wallet when he loss it and he try every appointment the other person was going to be at but he was also afraid to arrive late to his grandpa house because it was Christmas but he gave up and when to his grandpa house and there was that bag he was looking for because somebody came to leave for Geronimo Stilton and Geronimo Stilton did all the work for nothing but he finally had a happy Christmas.
This book is funny and talked about the true meaning of Christmas and how Geronimo safes people and helps people I love love love love love this book !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geronimo prepares a grand feast to celebrate Christmas! However, little does he know that he will soon be broken by all manners of tribulations. His shins are shattered, his tail trampled and his face bruised! And just when he thinks he can catch a break, his entire house and belongings are burnt to a crisp!!!
In the end, Geronimo must give up his life savings in order to restore his home, and even though he remains a broken mouse, his countenance is uplifted by the companionship and love of his friends and family who gather around to celebrate Christmas.

Miss 5 listened to this by audiobook and enjoyed it so much that she asked for another. (After we listened to all of the audiobook Geronimo Stilton's that we could borrow, we started buying and borrowing the physical books; it helped that she was already very familiar with the characters and their quirks).
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
My 5 year old love’s Geronimo Stilton and while it is fine, it is not my favorite. Geronimo is pretty consumeristic spending lots of time on gifts and a party to impress people. When his house has a fire instead of gathering people to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas or have a humble gathering of friends, instead everything is pulled together to have an even more outrageous party with all new furniture and a chef etc etc. It missed the mark for me.

Everything is going wrong for poor Geronimo this Christmas! Will he be able to pull it together before his big Christmas Eve celebration? This was adorable as usual. Great illustrations and a fin variety of fonts. Lots of play on words revolving around cheese and mice. I am not a huge fan of the constant calamity trope so this wasn’t my favorite Stilton book but it was still cute.
When I read this book I thought " Wow, Geronimo is a hard working mouse!" And Geronimo is a hard working. I love this book. If you like this book and the books in the series you would want to get Geronimo stilton and the kingdom of fantasy. Geronimo stilton and the kingdom of fantasy is it's own series. This book is for ages 7-10 years. This book is quick read for kids.
I liked this book because I liked the part when Geronimo kept on trying to get the old lady off the road because he was very nice to save the rodent's life. I also liked this book because I love Christmas.
