674 books131 followersThe Belgian author Morris (full name Maurice de Bevere) is best known for his humorous cowboy character, Lucky Luke. Morris started his career in 1945 in Le Moustique, creating various covers and illustrations. By the end of the 1940s, Morris met his colleagues Jijé, Franquin and Will. These four artists would be called "The Gang of 4", because they all worked in Jijé's studio at that time. The first episode of Lucky Luke, 'Arizona 1880', was published in L'Almanach Spirou 1947, and was later continued in Spirou. In his early 'Lucky Luke' comics, Morris was greatly inspired by animated cartoons à la Disney.
In 1949, Jijé took Morris and Franquin to the US, where Morris met Jack Davis and Harvey Kurtzman, whom he helped with their plans for Mad Magazine. He also met René Goscinny in the US. In 1955, Morris returned to Europe and collaborated with René Goscinny on 'Lucky Luke'. Goscinny wrote the scenarios of over 35 stories, which led to the great success of the series.

Bacaan dipagi Sabtu, ditemani secangkir coklat panas cukup menghibur sebelum melanjutkan aktivitas pekerjaan pada akhir minggu. Mengundang good mood sebelum hectic day dimulai. Petualangan Lucky Luke membasmi kejahatan yang dibekingi perempuan berkuasa Belle Starr. Belle Starr mengumpulkan para penjahat yang ditangkap, membela mereka dan menyuap para Hakim serta bekerjasama dengan Bankir untuk pencucian uang. Pada sisi yang lain ibu Belle berbaik-baik dengan warga, memberikan sumbangan-sumbangan kepada masyarakat dan gereja serta aktif dalam kegiatan keagamaan ....hmmm....sound familiar :)
Jika kejadian ini diceritakan terjadi pada sekitar tahun 1870 an....maka dapat dipastikan kondisi yang terjadi lebih dari seratus tahun yang lalu masih tetap eksis hingga sekarang.
Tetap sukses bikin tertawa. Apalagi kalo sudah ada scene Bu Dalton dan anak-anaknya, penjahat bersaudara yang ceritanya kejam tapi langsung takluk jika berhadapan dengan ibu mereka..... Ga nahan wajah mereka ito lohh....
Jika kejadian ini diceritakan terjadi pada sekitar tahun 1870 an....maka dapat dipastikan kondisi yang terjadi lebih dari seratus tahun yang lalu masih tetap eksis hingga sekarang.

? Een stripboek van Lucky Luke dat ik niet goed kende...
🤔 Als ik het vergelijk met Ma Dalton en Calamity Jane dan is dit album gewoon minder leuk, komt Belle Starr er misschien een beetje weinig uit en lijkt het op een gegeven moment wel een parade van sterren (Billy The Kid, Ma Dalton, Jesse James, etc.). Wel aardig vond ik de historische foto's van de niet corrupte rechter en zijn handlanger aan het einde van het boek (mooi nagetekend in de strip), maar gewoon minder dan andere albums...of het dan met de nieuwe scenarist te maken heeft? (X. Fauche).. misschien ook wel ;-)

Tytułowa Belle Starr wraz ze swoim mężem mogła wieść spokojny „żywot” miasteczku Fort Smith, gdzie nikt nie odważył się podważyć jej autorytetu. Dzięki przekupionemu sędziemu dosyć często ratowała ona z „opresji” lokalnych bandytów, którzy stawali się wobec niej bardzo lojalni. Dzięki temu szacowna „dama” miała pod swoją opieką prawie całe miasto i mogła pozwolić sobie na wszystko. Przynajmniej do czasu kiedy to miasta przybył sam Lucky Luke. Nie trzeba raczej dodawać, że dzielny kowboj nie miał zamiaru przymknąć oczu na łamanie prawa i postanowił zaprowadzić ład i porządek. Nie będzie to jednak nazbyt łatwe i będzie czekać go sporo wyzwań.
Xavier Fauche (scenarzysta) skupia się tutaj na Luke’u, który w swoim stylu radzi sobie z każdym pojawiającym się problemem nie zawsze musząc sięgać po broń. Do tego dochodzi jeszcze spora dawka humoru, która jest przecież znakiem rozpoznawczym całego cyklu. Nie zapomniano tutaj również o sporej wartości edukacyjnej. Dotyczy ona nie tylko tytułowej „Królowej Bandytów”, ale również kilku innych historycznych postaci, które pojawiają się na łamach tego komiksu (chociażby „wieszający sędzia” czy „książę katów”). Jest to naprawdę miły „dodatek”, którego niekoniecznie oczekuje się od tego rodzaju komiksów. Plusem jest również umieszczenie na końcu albumu krótkiej notki biograficznej dotyczącej wspomnianych osób.
Fabularnie tytuł powiela więc sprawdzone schematy serii, zapewniając jednak czytelnikowi sporą dawkę rozrywki. Nie zaliczałbym jednak tego tytułu do ścisłej czołówki cyklu, chociaż biorąc pod uwagę jakość całej serii, nie ma tu zbyt wielu powodów do narzekania.
Wizualnie komiks prezentuje stały „bardzo wysoki” poziom. Zresztą nie może być inaczej, skoro za rysunki odpowiada Morris. Jego cartoonowy styl nigdy się nie zestarzeje i nigdy się nie znudzi i cały czas zapewnia fanom komiksów niesamowitych doznań wizualnych.

Ein interessanter Fall, den Lucky Luke da zu knacken hat: Die Verbrecherkönigin Belle Starr scheint über unversiegbare Geldquellen zu verfügen. In Fort Smith hat sie die Justiz soweit in der Tasche, dass sie sämtliche Ganoven direkt nach der Verurteilung durch den Richter für geringe Kautionen freikaufen kann. Außerdem gibt sie sich als Wohltäterin. Luke lässt sich als Verbrecher verurteilen, um in ihre Bande aufgenommen zu werden. Dort trifft er auf jede Menge alte Bekannte... // Lucky Luke Band 69 "Belle Starr" hat mir sehr gut gefallen: Zum einen wird wieder einmal mit Western-Legenden gekonnt jongliert, zum anderen stimmen Bild- und Wortwitz hier gut überein. Der Verlauf der Story bietet sogar ein paar unerwartete Überraschungen - ein sehr gelungenes Abenteuer!

To little Belle Star.
Not a bad story, but fare from a good one.
I actually like the Idea, but Lukes plan sould not have worked on her. She has been charakterised as wicketly smart, and well connected, and she clearly knows hes not an desperado, so why the hell did she act as she did?
Her gang was a bit lacking to, its nice to see so many familiar faces in this story, but her core group is just the Daltons, Billy, and one one time villian. I feel that could have been polished.
I hope she shows up in later volumes, because she was a great charakter done dirty.
And well the ending whit the real life references was in my opinion quiet tasteless.

The subtle Dalton treatment -even with Ma included- was fresh and interesting! But in a quick and tiny panel within, I appreciated the calling-out of the "prudeness" (my interpretation) of the Francophone publishers when Joe chides Luke for not killing anyone in over 45 years (in tome 1 as "Luke's double" since he was so different looking back then).
Billy the Kid just annoys me though. Sure, he's supposed to, but I would be a bit more original in his brand of brattiness.

Snel lezend verhaal. Andere scenarist maar Morris tekende nog steeds het verhaal. De Dalton broers komen er ook nog even in voor.

È raro che un personaggio femminile sia protagonista assoluto di una storia di Lucky Luke e, quando succede, io ne sono sempre parecchio felice, dato che si tratta sempre di soggetti particolari, come la grintosa Calamity Jane.
Non è stato il caso di Belle Starr, ipocrita e megera esattamente come la sua controparte reale, a cui Morris e Faux si sono ispirati per creare il personaggio di quest'albo. La storia in sé non era affatto male ma ha finito per segnalarsi più per i camei (i Dalton che ritornano!) che per i vigliacchi comprimari che permettono a Belle Starr di fare il bello e il cattivo tempo - e anche qui, come al solito, si segnala il divertito cinismo con cui Lucky Luke si diverte a sbattere in faccia al lettore tutti i limiti e le ipocrisie degli esseri umani, che di fronte alla corruzione sono capaci di mettere da parte molte remore.
