This book looks simple but packs a powerful message. Very easy to read as the chapters are short, funny and informative. It's easy to pick up and read another chapter, then put it down again while I think about what she had to say. I appreciate that the book is well written and presented.

After reading this book I became a dedicated 'Shift Head' as Jennifer Powers calls the fans of her message. Oh Shift, is about taking situations that happen to all of us in our daily lives, and 'Shift' the focus to find the good in what happened. It sounds simple, but you know what? It takes work and reminders. That's why I've continued to pick this book up over the last two years.

I'm now on the Oh Shift mailing list as well as her Facebook 'Oh Shift' page. Through an email I learned of her new 'Oh Shift' three week (6 class) workshop. Today I finished the workshop and felt the need to share with other readers the power this simple book can have in your life.

Oh, the workshop was fabulous! I met great people and was able to attend from my home office as this is a teleclass (you call in). Jennifer keeps the class size to 8 people and it's perfect. The workbook is one I can keep and use often.

Really, Jennifer's shares such a simple message. 'Shift' .. but it's going to take some practice to get my brain retrained to always look for the good. If you think about it, all of us often feel like others have more power than we do in some situations. Or we're mad that so and so did this... and really, is all that negative energy doing you any good? So Shift!

I love this book so much I've been giving it out for Christmas and birthdays. I've even given out the 'Oh Shift for Teens' book too.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and read this book! If you laugh just once or learn only one thing, then the time is well spent. But, like the people I've shared the book with, I think you'll laugh often and be grateful you took the chance on her message. It's well worth it!

This book is SSOOOO good I don't really read books like this, but my mom kept telling me to read it, so I finally did. The book is all about changing your atittude towards situations you can and can't control, and doing the best you can to be as happy as you can. Making a shift in your reactions, changes the way you live your life. The theme of the book, is changing the words you say, into something positive. Saying shift instead of.... the other word, making you change your reaction from something bad, into something good.

This book teaches you to be more confindant, independant, positive, and outgoing. It is incredably funny, not to long, and presented in a way that is very enjoyable to read. Oh, Shift is inspiring, and I think it's something that everyone should read.

I don't think that everybody would like the way this is written but I loved it. It is such an easy read but helps shift the way you react to situations in your every day life. It is blunt and everyone could relate to and benefit from reading this book.

This is a fun, funny and high-impact read that will remind you that a series of small shifts can lead to massive change. I've had the opportunity to hear the author speak, and I can say that she really walks the talk.

Not my cup of tea. I try to be positive already & at the beginning, it helped remind of of this. Got to 27% & just done!

If you’re a negative person or dealing with those who are, maybe you will enjoy this.

I love the self help genre, but this wasn't quite my cup of tea. The base message is good (if a bit unoriginal), but the changing text size and off kilter page layout along with the overuse of the words "oh, shift" just didn't work for me.

Great message, just redundant. It’s a very fast read. This book is one that should be left sitting out on a coffee table or bedside night stand to reach for when you need a quick reminder on how to shiFt your mindset.

I like the idea but the entire premise could’ve been encompassed into a few sentences– Change your mindset to find the good in things and use the list of provoking questions such as “how does this benefit you?” recommended by a therapist so I had to read

Interesting take on another method to have a positive outlook. It's a really quick read including all of the fluff (there's a LOT of fluff). However, I recommend taking your time to absorb.

I liked the simplicity of this book. I so often am reading the in-depth brain science versions of this message; that your thoughts matter, and direct your brain and behavior. The author has created a humorous framework for a serious topic.

Fun. A little off the wall. Honest. Witty. Testy language. And full of advice for those who need a shift in their relationships. The author's secret? Practical steps to look at life differently through small gearshifts in your perspective.

Jennifer's style is different, and I like it. (Any author who admits to being a "self-reflection whore" has my attention.) The layout makes an EASY read with various font styles, sizes, indents, and wisely placed white space—a good memory tool.

This book's headed to my college aged kids—they tend to make mountains out of molehills. I'm thinkin' they'll read something in their own lingo and style. (Admit it. Don't you pass books on to your kids who need advice from someone other than a parent?)

I really enjoyed this book. I have read a lot of books with similar themes of self help, change your attitude, refocus, etc., however this one was written in a way that gets through. It is light, funny and an easy read.

In this book it teaches you how to change what you say with just one letter. It teaches you to be a better person, when talking at school or work. Not everyone appreciates swearing, I personally used to do it a lot until I read this book. It taught me how changing one letter can brighten your day and improve someone else's. It makes me feel better when I know i'm not hurting someone by using foul language and using funny words in place of those foul words. It can improve how you feel about yourself. I personally do not like feeling like I have to use those words. I like to sit for a few minutes when I want to use those words and count to 10 it helps relieve stress instead of saying a bad word and if you still want to say one of those words you can modify that one letter and make it into a better word. I hope you will chose to do some of the same things I tried to make my days better. My favorite part of this book was the whole book itself and the way it is written because it is a short book and it was a fast read. The pages did not have that much words and the ones that did they were easier to read. I chose to read this because I wanted to change the ways I talk in public and with my family.
