Peach-Pit (ピーチ・ピット Pīchi Pitto) is a female manga artist duo in Japan, made up of Banri Sendo (千道 万里 Sendō Banri) and Shibuko Ebara (えばら 渋子 Ebara Shibuko). Their group name derives from the diner hangout Peach-Pit from the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210. Although both have similar styles, with some artwork it is possible to identify which artist drew it. Both are known for their bishōjo styled works. As noted in their books, they are both Geminis and have "Almost flushed our phones down the toilet...twice."

The two of them grew up together and went to the same elementary school and have been best friends ever since. Both started as doujinshi manga artists, but not as Peach-Pit. Then they were scouted by Dengeki Comic Gao!. In 2008, one of their manga, Shugo Chara!, was awarded the Kodansha Manga Award for best children's manga. Shugo Chara was also turned later into an Anime television series.

LOL mine was a withdrawn library copy from the Stevens memorial library. First printed in November 2006.

The end of the series! Ren is a bit sad that her pet rabbit died. Apparently DearS can only live to be 20 years old? Mochi and a little girl have bonded and they’ve named her IO, she will become the next “watcher”.

DearS are revealed to be a type of parasite that travel around judging who they can see to host them. If a host has lost all its value and is no longer seems suitable the gate keeper will pass judgment and Ren is the gate. If you’ve ever watched “this ugly yet beautiful world” you’re going to get the same vibes.

Miu is sad that her host family is sick, the grandfather is in the hospital and might not make it. In fact he dies, and Miu is viewed as the culprit. With this new wave of hated sentiment directed at the aliens they can barely function. Meanwhile a new watcher has been born and is the “key”.

The new watcher came to the conclusion that their race can only live with love and if humans cannot provide it then humans must perish. Also the alien race came about from a different time. During an interstellar war and they’re the only survivors. Mochi is a bomb. Ren announces that she will leave the planet but Takeya doesn’t want her to go. He loves her but can’t admit it.

Meanwhile other aliens are having problems in their host homes, they’re close to death. In a rather uneventful ending Ren decides to stay on the planet, death is avoided because Takeya confesses his love, however in a weird twist him and some of the other DearS decide to leave into outer space to live forever. Also Ren is capable of reproducing while none of the other aliens are. Sigh.

That was not what I was expecting. It was good, but Takaya pissed me off with hitting on his step mom and then Neneko after Ren left. I was thinking to myself the whole time that I would punch the shit out of that child. If he loved Ren so much, why did he not go after her in the first place!!
I get that he is kinda awkward and shy, but still common sense. Go and get her to tell her side of the story. She said she loves you and then left...
Just ugh./
Other than that, the story was pretty good. I laughed really hard at the end of the bonus manga "Some R rated electromagnetic waves"
It did bother me that the 20 year life span was not addressed, but I suppose that they are going with the explanation that "Ren is changing, so all the DearS are changing, so normal life span now"
It seams a tad rushed to me, maybe 2-3 more chapters would work it out more completely.
I can be kinda lenient since this was Peach Pit's first original work.
If you liked this, check out their series Rozen Maiden for more of their super artwork!

I was a little disappointed by the ending. After being drip fed information for a while it was nice to get a conclusion but I felt slightly unsatisfied by the outcome. Almost as if the author wasn't sure how to wrap it all up.
