I absolutely loved this volume! Finally, we get the fun date at an amusement park trope that is extremely popular in romance manga. Haruna and Macharu are aware of each other and they focus on having as much fun as possible.
The drama with Haruna hiding her feelings from Macharu when it comes from her father is so real. It's not that Haruna doesn't trust Macharu, she needs to unpack her feelings about her father by herself. But Macharu, stepping up to let her know he doesn't like knowing that she's crying alone, is squeal worthy.
I also enjoyed the short story at the end of the this volume with Macharu's sister and her crush on Atsu, Macharu's best friend. It's nice to see more into Macharu's family and to enjoy a sweet Middle Grade crush story.
Monkey High is a wonderful school romance, and if you can get ahold of the physical copies or the digital copies, I believe it's worth it for people that enjoy school romances.
