AFRAID OF ECSTASY
Tamara Warde was eleven when she saw her father killed and her mother ravished again and again by interlopers on their Caribbean plantation. From that moment, the act of love stirred terror in Tamara, even when she grew to exquisite beauty in aristocratic England.

But there was no safety from desire, as Tamara soon discovered - in the manor of the powerful and depraved Duke of Lyndenhurst...in the employ of all-too-attractive Sir Richard Foxcomb, who offered her everything by marriage...on shipboard with Mark Schofield, a childhood friend grown to disturbing manhood, as they sailed to the American South on the eve of the Civil War...amid the dangers of blockade-running and the perils of marriage to an absentee husband and courtship by a tantalizingly seductive lover...

Tamara had conquered her fear of love - but could she control the wantonness that was suddenly awakened in her?
