Blaze follows Kiera, an energy vampire's, journey of her own self destruction. Until she meets Asher, a chaos demon, that is really much more of a puppy, who slams smack dab into her life . Asher strikes up a deal with Kiera, that she initially refuses. But then one night she sees what Asher's crime lord family does to him and she simply can't ignore the collaboration anymore. She wants to save him and protect him. She will do whatever it takes and at whatever cost, but could it be at the cost of her heart?
Kiera, our FMC, is our resident bada$$!!! There is no room for arguments on the subject. She is strong, fierce, grumpy, s3xually empowered, knows what she wants, is the alphahole of the story, and so on and so forth. I loved her from the first time she came on to the page. Like yes I will bow down and kneel to you.
Asher, our MMC, is the sunshine to Kiera's grumpy. He is witty and loving and not what you expect out of a chaos demon. He does not do what his family wants him to, not at the cost of harming people. And I love that he sticks to his morals on that. I love that he lives to serve our queen of the story. It's just ughhh. I haven't read many stories like this and I wanted more of their relationship where the male does anything to satisfy our FMC.
I loved the mentions of characters that were in Haunt and I absolutely detested Asher's family. Seriously August..... I know you are a chaos demon but really?

I love Rachel's writing like always. The quotes in Blaze had me swooning and burning up. Her books are a delicious treat in between large books and I couldn't be happier. If you don't like books high on the smut factor then you aren't going to love this series. But for me... I love when Rachel can just take the reins when my brain is fried from other books. Blaze is a sizzling TBR palate cleanser. Themes of betrayal and family are woven throughout. I loved the grumpy/sunshine trope. Full of vampires, witches, and demons. This is the second book in Drake’s standalone interconnected series. I can’t wait to dive back into this world with book three!

I love Keira’s character arc. How she’s been hardened by the world and has to grow and learn how to be vulnerable.

Keira is definitely my favorite character. I understand her temper and needing to avenge those she loves after they’ve been done wrong.

I love these interconnected standalones. We get to explore the world, meet new characters while still being able to revisit old ones and see how they’re doing as time goes on.

This book is the spicy little snack I needed, and it was absolutely delicious.
The story is about an energy vampire FMC and a chaos demon MMC. She is a total badass that comes into his life like a hurricane and changes everything. She is the grumpy to his sunshine.
If you like spice, romance, murder, spice, different paranormal characters, grumpy/sunshine, more spice and HEAs, this book is for you. It’s a quick read that is oh so satisfying! 100% recommend, but please, as always, read the trigger warnings before starting.

Another fun, spicy quick read from Rachel and I highly recommend it.
I loved this story with Kiera (energy vampire) and Asher (chaos demon). I also loved the reversal of roles, where Kiera was doing the saving and Asher was the damsel. Asher was such a good boy.
I enjoyed the chaos that they created together and Kiera getting revenge later.
Can't wait for the next book in the series, Bite.

Looking for your next hot, spicy read? Look no further! Now, I love a good paranormal romance. Add in a little spice, and you can definitely call it my guilty pleasure. But I know how hard it can be to find your next favorite. I promise you, this is it. Rachel has a wonderful way of taking the paranormal creatures and concepts that we know and love and turning them on their heads to make them unique.
Want vampires, but tired of the typical blood-sucking variety? How about an energy vampire instead? I've read a lot of vampire stories (especially in this genre), but I can't think of any that I've liked as much as Kiera. She's sexy, strong, and everything she does throughout this story will keep you on your toes. She's not your typical heroine, but that just means you'll love her more.
Then there's Asher. If you've ever wanted a hot puppy dog of a demon, this chaos demon is for you. Asher is sweet, intelligent, a little bit sneaky, and hot at the title of the book! These two together make such a formidable pair that no reader will soon forget.
And you know such a strong couple has to have a strong plot to drive their story forward right? Rachel didn't disappoint with this either! Kiera and Asher are in some tough places in their lives, but when they team up, all of that begins to change. Grumpy and sunshine work wonders in this pair against the harsh realities of family, power, and corruption. And the smut is just chef's kiss. It will have you hot from beginning to end!

I enjoyed this one more than the first book for personal reasons that have nothing to do with the book, but everything to do with my preference. They are standalone books that can be enjoyed separately or together, because it's the same world and characters are featured in each book.
Now about what I loved about this book:
1."little chaos". Pet name Kiera gave to Asher, a chaos demon with family problems that they deal with together and that dynamic was everything! I melted everytime she called him that, it's so cute and sweet.
2. It's a spicy story about energy vampire and chaos demon, with an emotional plot, short but hits deep. Some spicy scenes still made me uncomfortable, but again, it's because I'm ace and only like reading about certain kind of intimacy. But I like reading and finding my limits.
3. Supernatural romance is superior because it's paranormal and most fun to read about.
4. Modern day Robin Hoodesque tale of a badass energy vampire and sunshine chaos demon taking from the rich and giving to the poor and having fun spicy time in-between the heists.
"I may be a villain to this world, but I’ll always be the hero for you.”
I can't wait for the third book! Witch and a vampire! It'll be epic!

Blaze can be read as a standalone, but is part of a Paranormal Romance series with Multiple POV's and ends in an HEA.
I absolutely loved the first book, and I am so glad I preordered the second book and read it as soon as it was delivered to my kindle. This book was fantastic. I loved it.
It was so fun to learn more about Kiera and how she feeds as an energy vampire. Kiera is so bad ass and independent. She is strong and sassy and I want to be her friend. Asher is not your typical chaos demon as he is such a cinnamon roll. He is just the sweetest and is so loving.
I loved the whole plot of the story and the world that Rachel Drake has created within the first two books is incredible. It is detailed and so in depth. I loved how Kiera and Asher's chemistry starts off strong and just gets hotter. Kiera became so protective of Asher, I just loved it.

Super sexy, great plot
I absolutely loved these characters! I was a bit unsure for the first few pages as I'm not used to reading characters like Kiera, but soon, I was hooked. The contrast of her strength and Asher's softness make the most delicious combo.
And it's not only about the relationship- the plot is intriguing and so inventive. This was the first book I've read by Drake, and it will definitely not be the last

A kookie story in a world of supernaturals. When a chaos demon meets a cute but solitary emotional vampire, they team up against his evil brothers & sisters in-law who are mob like. Will they win & save his tortured mother or will they die in the process? All I have to say is I was so hooked I finished reading in just a handful of hours.

This book was absolutely great. I love the relationship that these two characters have. I also loved that in the authors note that the author wrote that the relationships in the book aren't pictures of what healthy relationships look like.

This book was steamy! It had a great plot that made me think of inspiring ways to love others and myself especially through the main characters. The tension wasn't too much or too little and made sense regarding the plot.

Kiera’s world revolves around her needs and wants until she meets the puppy of a chaos demon known as Asher. Asher proposes a deal to Kiera that she refuses until she sees just what Asher has to lose and at once she knows she will do whatever it takes to protect him. But, will her heart be to high a price to pay?

Kiera is definitely a major bada$$ and the grumpy in this Grumpy/Sunshine relationship. Along with being a grumpy alphahole, she is confident, uses S3X to empower herself , knows exactly what she wants and takes it… Basically she is exactly what you want in a Bad B¡tch FMC.

Asher is such a sunshine puppy of a chaos demon and I love him! He most definitely is not what you would expect from a chaos demon which leads to problems with his family. He is very much against harming others while his family have literally started wars in order to get the chaos energy they need. This desire to do no harm is what leads Asher to Kiera. Asher would do whatever it takes to make sure all of Kiera’s needs and wants are fulfilled, he lives to serve her and loves it when she takes control both in and out of the bedroom.

We also get to see snippets of our favorite characters from Haunt while meeting new friends but we don’t just get new friends we also get some new people to hate… And, boy did I hate Asher’s family! There were a couple of tiny rays of light amongst the darkness that is his family but I’ll let them guide your way to finding them.

Asher is such a sunshine puppy of a chaos demon and I love him! He most definitely is not what you would expect from a chaos demon which leads to problems with his family. He is very much against harming others while his family have literally started wars in order to get the chaos energy they need. This desire to do no harm is what leads Asher to Kiera. Asher would do whatever it takes to make sure all of Kiera’s needs and wants are fulfilled, he lives to serve her and loves it when she takes control both in and out of the bedroom.

We also get to see snippets of our favorite characters from Haunt while meeting new friends but we don’t just get new friends we also get some new people to hate… And, boy did I hate Asher’s family! There were a couple of tiny rays of light amongst the darkness that is his family but I’ll let them guide your way to finding them.
