Angelina Rappaport Some people might call me sheltered. That doesn't begin to cover it. I've been practically sequestered my whole life. Constantly warned by my eccentric and reclusive mother against the "dangers of the world," I was only allowed outside my home to attend a strict girls' school. No parties. No sleepovers. NO boys. Ever. Even now in my early twenties, the extent of my social life is spending time with the adorable three and four-year-olds at the preschool where I work. I've hardly ever spoken to a man, except for exchanging morning greetings with the fathers of my students. And soon, I'll obey my mother's wishes and enter religious service, training to be a nun. But gazing out my bedroom window in the turret of my family's crumbling seaside mansion, I secretly dream of a different life, one that involves freedom, adventure, love, and children of my own. I at least want a kiss before I give up and follows my mother's plan for my life. Sullivan Reece As a heavyweight boxing champion in prime condition, I can easily go twelve rounds with the toughest fighters on the planet-but when it comes to my two little girls... I'm a lightweight. Now that my ex has declared herself "done" with mothering, and my spirited and mischievous daughters are living with me full-time, I'm realizing just how much I don't know about raising kids. My own upbringing in a tough neighborhood left a lot to be desired-I basically raised myself, and honestly, didn't do all that great a job of it. And then there's my demanding training schedule and the travel required for my career. What I really need is a live-in nanny. Yesterday. But as newcomer to Eastport Bay, I have no idea where or how to find the right caretaker for the two most important people in my life. So when my neighbors say they know the perfect person, I jump at the chance to hire her. She has experience with children, she needs a place to live, and she's exactly the kind of classy role model I want for my daughters. There's just one problem... the new nanny is everything I'm not -sweet, innocent, good. It goes without saying she's completely off-limits. Oh, and she's a total knockout. The Baby-whisperer and the Brute is a full-length small town rom com fairytale retelling of Rapunzel. It's a standalone single dad/forbidden love/forced proximity/slow burn romance with no cheating or cliffhangers but plenty of humor and heat and a gentle bruiser with a heart of gold. Award-winning author Tru Taylor writes small town romance that's hot and sunny (and a little bit funny.)
She runs on Coke Zero and dark chocolate, lives for lunches with her girlfriends, and drives to the town beach several times a week to watch the sun set over the water.
She loves LOVE and will attempt to turn any show or movie she's watching into a romance whether it is one or not. Star Wars? A romance. Lord of the Rings? Clearly a romance. The Expendables? Okay, well not even Tru can redeem that one.
When she's not writing, Tru enjoys watching movies and reading books with happy endings, spending time with Mr. Tru and her two kids, and sneaking Hershey's Kisses from the top shelf of the freezer throughout the day. (Top shelf because... two kids. Enough said.)
Tru is the author of the Eastport Bay small town rom com series and loves living in a small New England town where she's surrounded every day by the beautiful coastal setting you see brought to life in her books.
Angelina lives with her mother in a castle by the sea. Not a real castle but a large stately home with a turret so very castle-like. Angelina’s bedroom is in the turret and she often sits and looks out the window, watching the world and people go by.
Angelina is an only child, was homeschooled and has lived a very sheltered life thus far. Her father has not been in her life at all and her mother is a bitter old woman. Men and the temptations they offer are to be denounced. Right from when she was young Angelina has been told that she will enter a life of celibacy as a nun and that time is coming up very soon.
Angelina works part time at a local school. She loves her work there and she is passionate about helping children learn. When a job opportunity as a nanny for a local family comes up, her mother is adamant she can’t take it. She goes to very extreme measures to make sure that Angelina stays on the course she has plotted out for her.
In a rare act of rebellion Angelina decides to throw caution to the wind and do what is in her heart, what she feels is right for her. She will still commit to the life her mother wants but wants to put it on hold so she can experience another life before that. The family she will be working for is the man she has been watching run past her tower for several months. Sully is a well known champion boxer and has his two precocious daughters living with him for the summer. It is obvious that he is way out of his depth with them and he is in awe of Angelina’s ability to connect and reason with them.
Angelina loves being a part of this family and the longer she is with them, the more her feelings towards Sully are growing. This is all new and very confusing for her, it challenges the moral compass she has lived by thus far. Sully thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has ever met and thinks she is making a mistake committing her life to a convent.
Deep down inside Angelina yearns to be a mother and have her own family. She could so easily fall for the happy ever after option with Sully and his daughters but the narrative drilled into her by her mother is always at the forefront of her mind. Can she truly trust what she is feeling for Sully or is she simply falling for the temptations her mother has always warned her of?
This is kind of like a modern day version of Rapunzel so if you enjoy fairy tales you will love this :)
she's been raised to be a nun but now she's questioning if that's what she really wants. he needs a nanny, she needs a house...you can see where this is going. they slowly start to fall for each other, but what i loved most was how much they acted as a family!!!
also, he falls first, there's this scene in which he offers to buy her clothes because he likes spending money on the people he loves!
4.5 Stars for The Baby-whisperer and the Brute (Eastport Bay Billionaires #4) Another visit to Eastport Bay and another single dad to tickle your fancy, if single dads are your jam you need to make sure Sully and Angelina’s story is on your radar. Angelina is a preschool helper who loves her job, problem is her mother has other plans for her and once the summer is over she needs to leave Eastport Bay. Determined to experience life she becomes friends with her neighbours who I introduce her to Sully and his two little girls. Sully is a man who needs help, his girls are out of control and it seems Angelina is the only woman who can get through to them yes she is a baby whisperer… A summer together leads to so much more and it’s pretty obvious from the first time they meet that this couple have a connection but what will the future hold for experienced boxing champ and the innocent preschool helper. Guess you need to read the hook to find that out. This is an entertaining read that will appeal to a wide range of audiences, it has wonderful characters, it’s witty, it’s emotional, it’s steamy and it’s sweet. Loved everything about this book and can’t wait for my next visit to Eastport Bay.
4 Star The Baby-whisperer and the Brute (Eastport Bay Billionaires #4) by Tru Taylor
Tru Taylor is a new author to me and although this was my first book it will not be my last. Although book four in the series, I had not trouble reading this as a stand alone. In fact when time permits I am going to go back and read the rest of the books in the series.
Angelina Rappaport has led an extremely sheltered life, with little to no contact with the opposite sex. She works at a preschool and loves her job but her mother has her heart set on her becoming a nun. However fate often has other plans for people and this is certainly the case when she meets through neighbours, single dad Sullivan (Sully) Reece .
When Sully offers her a job as the girls live in nanny, she agrees and that’s when the complications set in. From the moment they meet there is an undeniable connection between Angelina and Sully and it only strengthens as they get to know one another. Sully is in awe of how she relates to his children, she seems to be a true baby-whisperer.
I really felt for Angelina she wants to follow her mother's wishes but there is a part of her that is desperate to get out there any experience life. I was really cheering for Angelina and Sully, her relationship with the girls melted my heart and I loved the journey that she and Sully embarked on.
This was a well written, emotional, witty story about finding love when you least expect it. The characters were engaging and easy to relate to and I found myself quickly invested in this slow burn story.
"No matter how dark and murky things may look, there's always a way through. Just trust that, and a solution will present itself."~Cinda ( her story:The Baby and the Bluebood)
OMG I just wanted to smack her mother sooo much. I am so happy Cinda was there for and encourage to follow her heart. Not her mother dream and the guilt she puts on her. Love Cinda wish she was my friend and so happy that she enter Angelina life. She has found a good friend and she experiencing what a good friendship is #friendshipgoals
Sully is a boxer & single dad to hyper girls. That he loves with love all his heart but he needs help and this is when Angelina comes in. With a lot encouragement from Cinda. Sully is a good hearted man and he works hard for his girls but he need help with the managing. Angelina is truely the baby whisper and there is some fantastic tips in here !! 😀 What I love that with Sully and the kids she experience what it like to be a mother and to be inlove. Thank god (no pun intended) she finally decided what her dream truely is...no spoilers
Back to the love story there are sook many awww and moment and YES when she slowly opens up to him AND their first kiss 🥰🥳 I had a little dance but then alot of other thing happen after that kiss...no spoilers from confessions to experiences
They are all adorable together & this is more than a love story. It's a self discovery journey for Angelina to find herself. Her mother is the devil women in my eyes. She was basically Rapunzel and the amount of guilt she but on her was cruel!

Sully and Angelina's book has all the feels and more. Angelina, all set to become a nun, starts to feel like that's not what she wants. When an opportunity presents itself, she takes it. Will she get more than what she thought ? Sully just moved to town with two daughters and is in desperate need of help with them. Will he be able to change her mind about what she really wants? Definitely read and find. They give you a story full of emotions, laughter, and some really sweet moments. It was a great read, and I can't wait to read what others she got.
This is an adorable single dad/virgin FMC romcom reworking of Rapunzel. It has a gorgeously written fairytale feel to it and the main characters are just too cute. Sully is the Brute heavy weight boxing champion with two young girls that he is struggling to control. Angelina is the innocently overprotected preschool helper with limited exposure to life, kept at home by her controlling Mum. She has a way with children and is the perfect answer to Sully's childcare issues. Over the course of the summer together they bond and grow together as a ready made family almost.
This is a surprisingly seductive slow burn. These two really sizzle. I loved the lingering looks and the building chemistry heating up the pages. It feels like an awakening for Angelina and her coming in to her own desires and identity. I loved how the Rapunzel elements snuck their way in not too subtly but adding to the romance and magic of the story. This is a really fun and easy read. I read it in one sitting and enjoyed every page.
I seem to be the odd one out in these reviews, but I just could not get through this book. I enjoy the author's voice, and I really loved the first book in this interconnected series, but this one..? I just couldn't.
It just seemed like we were waffling between the FMC being raised in a cult-like setting, but was also working outside the home...? And she just goes along with her mom for the majority of the book, including the third-act breakup...? UGH. I just wish we could have seen her standing up to her mom from the get-go. Making plans to leave the house, saving up her money from the job in secret, fucking SOMETHING. She was just a very weak FMC for the vast majority of the book, and it was so cringy to read.

I have to say this was an odd, quirky, yet intriguing tale. One about a girl whose mother, to hear it from her mother, said that she had committed a mortal sin in the eyes of their church. You see, she had Angelina Rappaport out of wedlock, and it cast her into shame. Being that Angelina’s mother came from a well to do family, with that great wealth she could be as eccentric as they allowed. As she was doing with Angelina. You see, if you don’t know any better, you don’t know to fight against it. As in Angelina’s case.
As for her mother, she knew perfectly well what she was asking her daughter to do and gave up. To be forgiven for her sin, she had convinced Angelina through manipulation, intimidation, and all-out lies by saying that she, meaning her mother, would die or worse, something bad would happen to her or Angelina if she didn't follow her rules of no friends, no boys, and no worldly things greater than God. She did get a job that the nuns told her about working at a nursery school as an aide.
However, her mother forbade her to speak to any of the fathers. She wasn’t even really allowed to meet and talk to their neighbors for fear of too many grandiose ideas. However, it was now the end of the school year, and she had been asked by the party committee and the administration to help them with the end-of-the-school-year party. Angelina was so happy and proud to have been asked. As expected, her mother was not pleased at all. But like Angelina told her, it was part of her job; therefore, she had to help.
Her mother conceded, and well beyond distressed, she allowed her to help. It's at that session that she gets to know the moms of her students. She enjoyed their time together and their straight talk around her, even though she didn't understand all of it. What she did understand is that one of the mom's moms used to know her mom when she was a young, free spirit. She told her that her mom used to love to dance. Which she finds ironic since she can’t watch TV or listen to the radio. Her mom picks her music choices. And she won’t allow her to dance. Saying it’s the devil's work.
They tell her how she has such a wonderful way with children and that they are sorry to hear she is leaving. They asked if she was going to college. She told them she was going to fulfill her postulancy and how it was always in her mother's plan. Plus, she had no idea what she would do if she didn't, since she never had friends, let alone boyfriends; her mother never allowed it. Before she left the neighbor's home, she could see Angelina was restless. You are starting to notice that what your mom may have told you is something less than the full truth to get her way.
The neighbor fully understood because her upbringing was not far off from Angelina’s. She left the meeting feeling more than a little enclosed in her ivory tower. Her only relief had been watching a new man in the neighborhood who would go jogging through town without a shirt. Then it's the day of the party, and who does she meet? Sexy jogging guy with two daughters who haven’t started school yet. That’s why she didn’t know. It's not hard to tell the two are running circles around him. She intervenes and helps to get them under control, and he is ready to hug this angel of the gods.
Breathing is no longer an option for Angelina. Just seeing him up close was overwhelming. It's when she dares to tell her mother she doesn't want to go to the holy order. All hell broke loose. Come see how this princess gets her dragon slain.
Despite giving it 3 stars, which to me means I doubtfully will ever want to re-read this book, I loved it. An obvious retelling of Rapunzel, set in modern times, with the princess being the nanny here, the prince a champion boxer with two young daughters. It was a great read, with enough sexual tension to power a house but Angelina, the heroine, was really hard to like.
In the end, she's the cause of the 2 missing stars from the rating. A young woman, early-to-mid-twenties, working with children... acting like one as well. In the classic fairy tale, the long-haired princess is locked in a tower by a witch/woman pretending to be her mother (depending on who tells the story), hiding her from the world, mistreating her. In this book, it's too similar. Her mother, a bat shit crazy woman, has raised her daughter to believe she's wanted to be a nun and it was her destiny. So, she forbid her friends, forbid her a normal life, and basically threatened her with her own death (mother's death) if she even had an impure thought of a man. As if God would strike her for her daughter wanting a relationship. Hypocrite, come on! Judging everyone around, all the while knowing how she herself became pregnant, no church-going husband around.
I was hesitant to read this book in the first place because the premise was for the heroine to be a future nun, virgin, awfully shy, and overly innocent which is just not my kind of story. But from the beginning I could see changes in Angelina, her wanting to burst out of the forced-upon-her cocoon. So hope grew that it would not disappoint. I bit through frustration in the start when an adult woman was acting like prison was normal and her mother - treating her like a disobedient little girl - was just life. I mean, for her it was and I was glad when she realized there's something wrong with it all. Late but better than never.
And yet, throughout the book, her character was what I was afraid of. The reason why I avoid most virgin stories, or religious ones, is because the people tend to be written as if they were trapped in the far past when torture was a daily occurrence and women had no right to anything and were raised to be prudes, and saying "God's will" was an enough of an excuse for murder, amongst other things. Angelina was an adult at one moment, a teenager finding herself the next, and a child with no choices of her own after that. Her inner evolvement was exhausting and rejecting, the chapters before the ending were disappointing to a point when I almost gave up but the finish saved it all. HEA was guaranteed but the heroine was no heroine to me. Sullivan suddenly because a single dad in need of a perfect nanny and he got it. Too bad for him she was so troubled.
And yet I loved the story. It was a hardcore Rapunzel retelling and it grated on me a lot but the HEA was worth it, the hero was heroic and the witch needed professional help (hope she got it)
Champion boxer Sullivan "Sully" Reece's plans were upended when his supermodel ex-wife, Anouk, informed him that she needed a "break" from parenting and was handing over full custody of their daughters to him for the summer. Sully adored his girls, 5-year-old Skyla and 4-year-old Claire, but their behavior was out of control and all of his efforts at discipline failed. Not only that, Sully was supposed to be training for an upcoming fight against a dangerous young challenger who was determined to take his heavyweight title from him. What Sully needed was a nanny, and his neighbor, Cinda Wessex, knew the perfect candidate: Angelina Rappaport, who had recently left her job as a preschool teacher's assistant. Angelina planned to enter religious service in the fall, training to become a nun in accordance with her mother's long-held wishes for her. The problem was that Angelina herself had some doubts about becoming a nun, and when she expressed them, her mother threw her out of their house. Sully's job offer couldn't have come at a more perfect time, and while Angelina was nervous about spending so much time with a single, attractive man, she immediately fell in love with his daughters and knew that she could help their family.
Sully and Angelina were super cute together, and I particularly loved that he called her his Angel. Maybe it was just that she was so sheltered and innocent compared to most women her age, but there actually was something kind of otherworldly about her, so the nickname was a perfect fit. She flourished when she was out from under her mother's roof, and it was wonderful to see her gradually grow more sure of herself and her choices. Angelina had always loved kids and secretly longed to be a mother, and if given the option, would have chosen to be a teacher rather than a nun. She was wonderful with Sully's daughters Skyla and Claire, proving to be exactly the missing piece their family needed. As for Sully, while he may have been a tough boxer on the outside, he was a total softie on the inside. His generosity knew no limits, even if it should have at times since he had a tendency to spoil his daughters. However, my absolute favorite thing about Sully was that he read (and enjoyed!) romance novels. (Be still, my heart!)
Overall, I loved this delightful modern take on "Rapunzel" and highly recommend it for all contemporary romance and romantic comedy fans. The Eastport Bay Billionaires series has been fantastic so far and I can't wait to find out what's in store for us next!

I know this was supposed to be a Rapunzel retelling, but Tru Taylor, please forgive me when I say I was humming Sound of Music as I was reading this.
So how do you solve a problem like two rambunctious kids and an upcoming title fight?
For Sullivan Reece, you count your lucky stars that the local pre-school volunteer and renowned kid-whisperer Angelina is looking for a temporary home and childcare gig as she contemplates whether heading to the convent to be a nun -- yes, I said nun -- is really what she wants for her future.
I always love visiting Eastport Bay, and this go-around was no different. Tru always creates endearing and relatable characters. While many of us are not likely pledging ourselves to a lifetime in a convent or 12 rounds at MGM Grand, we could definitely sympathize with Angelina and Reece's problems.
While the tension is quickly established, this one is a slower burn than previous books in this series (maybe a close tie with Cinda's), and it made total sense. The progression in Angelina and Sully's relationship from nanny/employer to friends to lovers did not feel rushed nor did it feel like it dragged on.
There is a small trigger warning for Angelina's mother, who has control issues.
If you want a light-hearted, wholesome read with wonderful characters, I definitely recommend this one. While a full trip to Eastport Bay is highly recommended so you can fully appreciate the mentions of characters from previous books, this book can also be read as a standalone.
** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. **
This was a weird one for me, but I was interested enough to see where this was gonna go. And I was really surprised.
Angelina worked as a assistant teacher at a preschool. She loved her job and she loved the kids. Her mother was not happy though. Her mother has been training her from a young age to become a nun. Angelina didn’t know if this is still what she wanted. She feels like she hasn’t lived a life. Especially once she met Sullivan and his two daughters. So when she tells her mother she wants to only leave a the end of summer, her mother kicks her out, so she excepts the position of becoming the nanny for the two little girls. Not knowing this will change her whole life 😊
Sullivan needs help desperately. As the boxing champion he is suppose to be training for his next fight. But he also wants to spend time with his girls, especially when their mother decided that she needed time to herself. So when he meets Angelina at a kids party and hears that she is looking for a live in job he hires her and his whole life changes.
This was a sweet story. Sully was definitely a Brute of a guy with a soft spot. The things he did for Angelina to help her settle in and to make her a part of his family was too sweet. Angelina was exactly what he needed to help with his unruly little girls. She knew that she wanted a family and she just needed that little nudge to get her there. Loved the story, loved the characters, the little girls were adorable 😊 Looking forward to the next one… Wilder and Jade???😉
I received this ebook ARC, from the author, on the condition that I write an honest review. This story was loosely based on the fairy tale of Rapunzel. Angelina is a gifted kindergarten teacher, but is planning to become a nun. She has been closed up in her home by a mother with psychological problems. Although Angelina is a young adult, she has not experienced true life, because of her mother’s control. She desperately wants to experience life, and that is when she becomes friends with her close neighbors. They recommend her as a nanny for the new neighbor. The new neighbor is a boxing champion, with two uncontrollable little girls, and he needs a nanny immediately. He had met Angelina at the neighbors party, and saw her beauty. He hires her, and she succeeds at controlling the girls, but in between, boss and nanny begin to develop feelings for each other. Preparing for a major fight, Sullivan’s life centers on his training. The fight is a success, but with major bodily damage to Sully, and Angelina becomes his caregiver. This closeness leads to love for each other. A misunderstanding splits them up, and Sullivan has to fight to get Angelina back. The story ends in a beautiful HEA for the couple. I’ve read the previous books in this series, and have loved each character. Tru Taylor does a marvelous job with her writing, of the characters, and their romantic story, and I recommend her books.
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair. It didn’t take me very long into the book before I realized that ‘letting down her hair’ in a more figurative sense was something that Angelina desperately needed to do. (And I’m still looking for some additional closure to the reason why she needed to let loose so badly.) Sully is completely adrift with a pair of charming pixies that have completely taken over his life. And just like the Fair Folk I compare them to, his daughters need to be approached, and appeased, in just the right way to prevent absolute chaos and mayhem. I had so much fun watching as this pair got to know and fall in love with one another. The romance is a very slow burn, which works perfectly for the story. It’s also a bit of an emotional roller-coaster with everything from devastation to laughter. Speaking of laughter, I will never think of goosebumps the same way ever again. And now that we’ve been introduced to the leading couple for the next book, I’m already itching to get my hands on it. It looks like it’s going to be even more angsty and emotionally fraught than I found this one. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through Give Me Books Promotions.
Author Tru Taylor has been releasing a sweet and spicy romance series that is based on some of my favorite fairy tales. Her newest release, The Baby and the Blueblood, is a modern retelling of Cinderella. Cinda Brown is having a tough time keeping her cleaning business booming while raising a child that the father doesn't know exists. Alexander Wessex is her long lost love from years ago that just happens to be the father, and unbeknownst to Cinda, a prince. The story heats up with an accidental run in that surprises them both and is a reminder that they both still have feelings for one another. Finding their way back to each other isn't easy, but Alexander is a determined man! I found both characters likable and I was routing for them from the very beginning. The story moves quickly and is a great retelling, without being too predicable. This romance has it all-- long lost love, handsome guy, beautiful girl, cute kid, and lots of romantic tension. Every book in this series has left a smile on my face and my heart happy. If you're looking for a quick read, with lots of heat this weekend, this is the book for you. The next book in the series, The Baby-Whisperer and the Brute is out now!
I have to say that I'm really loving my vacation with the Eastport Bay Billionaires, and I'm very new to the series. Sully is a boxing champion who has found himself underwater with his two tiny human girls after their mother decides she's done being a mom so things are quite chaotic at the moment, and he's supposed to be training for a big fight so a nanny is definitely in order. Angelina is a very sheltered girl whose mother wants her to become a nun, and this poor girl hasn't lived life even a little bit yet but she is very good at taking care of tiny humans. Luckily, she ends up Sully's nanny for the summer, and it's quickly apparent that they have a connection neither saw coming. However, there's nothing instant about their journey as this girl is amazing with his girls & maybe just what the doctor ordered, but again, she's a pure good girl so it does have a slow burn aspect. I LOVED everything about this story as these two unlikely people slowly move into something amazing that neither saw coming, but will Angelina be able to actually stand up to her mother at the end of the day?! You know what to do to find out as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
In a Rapunzel retelling, a shy virgin gets the life she didn't even know she wanted.
Angelina is torn - her mother has warned her repeatedly about the dangers of the world and men. Trying to come to terms with what her life will be like if she continues to allow her mother's influence in her life , she is suddenly doubtful of her decision. And her shirtless, jogger neighbour - in sudden need of a temporary nanny - threatens what's left of her sanity.
Sully is desperate, so desperate. His children aren't the little angels he's always thought them to be, and he needs help fast! Hiring Angelina is an answer to his prayers, but he didn't count on her stealing his heart, too. Will he be able to convince her that love, he and his children may be in her destiny?
This single dad/nanny trope, combined with the fairytale vibe was a good read. This book had me excited and eager to see how Angelina & Sully's story would end up. Their slow burn romance was perfect.
I am looking forward to book 5.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the 4th book in this series and is Sullivan and Angelina’s story. Sully is a heavyweight boxing champion and now single dad to his two adorable little girls, and he feels totally outweighed by these mischievous cuties, and due to his demanding training schedule and travel requirements, Angelina is recommended to him. Angelina has led an extremely sheltered life, due to her controlling and manipulative mother, who wants her to become a nun. Angelina works at a pre-school for 3- and 4-year-olds, and when she is offered the opportunity to become a live-in nanny, she jumps at the chance to get herself away from home. The chemistry between these two is sizzling and undeniable. This is a well written modern day fairy-tale, which is filled with humor, witty banter, and is an entertaining slow burn, which had me enthralled throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Angelina is 23 and has been isolated her whole life as her mother had determined her future when she a child. The only freedom she has is to work part-time at the preschool and it is a job she loves but she must go directly there and is not permitted any stops along the way. The highlight of the day is watching a sexy stranger as he takes his daily run so when he needs a nanny for his two daughters, and she finds herself homeless it seems like the solution to both their problems.
Sully is a professional fighter who is trying to balance preparing for his next match with looking after his daughters when his ex-wife drops them off to live with him full time for the summer. Angelina is everything that he and his daughters need but between his past and the future that was planned for her they have some obstacles to overcome.
Sully is the perfect mix of sweet and sexy and he along with his daughters help Angelina realize that the only place she belongs is with them.
A cute contemporary version of a retelling of Repunzel. She’s a child care worker who is being pressured into religious service gazes out from her mansion’s tower window and dreams of freedom and the rippling muscles of the neighbor she occasionally sees running in the neighborhood. He’s a boxer, a championship fighter and winner, who finds himself flustered when he gets full time care of his two little girls dropped in his lap. The couple are cute but awkward and there’s certainly more than enough sexual tension to go around. Unfortunately, it’s obvious that the author has no idea what strict religious upbringing entails. I don’t think the characters go to church once, for example. The female protagonist gets a little childhood prayer book out once to read but that’s about it. There really is almost no feeling at all of the protagonist and her mother being at all religious. Some of the boxing references were also off.
This story was absolutely adorable! There’s so much build up in this slow burn fairy tale romance and it’s SO good!
Sully and Angelina have such a unique set of obstacles both individually and together. Their chemistry is undeniable and it’s magical watching them finally give in to each other.
‘Unless I was a complete dope—and the point was debatable—she wanted to be kissed. By me.’
There’s so much growth in here, especially for Angelina, that their relationship doesn’t seem rushed. Her innocence and naivety is endearing and the perfect compliment to Sully’s larger than life persona.
Tru Taylor has given us another fun, light-hearted romance that will completely sweep you off your feet!
I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
Sully was looking for a live nanny. His two beautiful girls were running all over the place. Even running out of the in their nightgowns to go to the Birthday Party next’s door. Sully chased them and that is when he first saw Angelina. To him she looked like a real life Angel with long beautiful blonde hair. Angelina was to get the girls to actually listen to her and Sully knew she was the for him.
Angelina’s Mother was a real wicked witch. She told Angelina that all men were bad and she was to become a Nun. But, Angelina wanted a month to see what the real world was like. Her Mother kicked her out of the house and disowned her.
Angelina needed a job and a place to live so she could decide her future. And enough Sully needed that live in Nanny. Fairytales really do come true sometimes.
In The Baby Whisperer and the Brute, Rapunzel is charmingly updated for the modern world. When Angelina, the story's modern day Rapunzel, meets Sully, a championship boxer whose 2 utterly adorable, but wild child young daughters (ages 4 and 5) are dumped on him for the summer by his ex, he is immediately smitten by her kindness, her toddler wrangling skills, and of course, her beauty. Pretty soon, he knows he'll do anything to make her his, but how is he going to convince her to turn away from the path she's been on her entire life? This modern day fairy tale retelling has likable characters, adorable kids and a paints a sweet portrait of an unlikely couple coming together to form a believable family. I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads contest and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This slow burn romance had all kinds of steamy anticipation! Based loosely on Rapunzel, it was fun to see the comparisons and I adored seeing how everything played out. Angelina is amazing and one of the purest souls I have read about in so long, so sweet and lovely and the perfect addition for Sully when he needs a nanny.
All in all this book is sweet with a little spice added in. I adored reading it and loved the connection between Angelina and Sully and the girls. I give it 4 outta 5 stars and totally enjoyed reading it!
PS: Thank you to Tru Taylor and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.
I am loving this series by Tru Taylor. These stories are sweet full of swoon worthy moments. Angelina and Sully's story had me rooting for them from the very beginning. Angelina has lived a sheltered life with a controlling mother, when really she wants to have her hair hanging down and a chance to escape her lonely tower. Sully is a divorce and a single dad to two little girls that get into everything. When he happens to meet Angelina by chance at his next door neighbors son's birthday party, well lets just say sparks were flying. I couldn't get enough of them. I was laughing out loud, grabbing some tissues and screaming finally! I can't wait for the next one in this series.
This book had me at the blurb. It sounds like a book right up my alley. I mean I can't pass up a single dad/nanny romance. This book definitely gives you Rapunzel vibes. I did not like Angelina's mom. Nasty piece of work. What a bright light she is for the Reece family. Poor Sully, he's so overwhelmed by his little girls. You can tell he is a great dad, just needs a little guidance and help. It made my heart so happy to see Angelina blossom and come out of her shell. If anyone deserves a HEA it's Angelina. She has such a big kind heart. She's someone I would want to be friends with. A great book that pulled me right in.
