The Court of Frost is not meant for the feint of heart - or for a bumbling changeling and her human friend. Cress has found herself plopped smack dab in the middle of Alfheim, otherwise known as the Realm of the Fae. Which wouldn’t be such a bad thing - considering she has finally proven herself to be one of them - except she’s brought along her best friend who is most certainly 100% human.
A spur of the moment announcement from Prince Roan, leaves Cress and the two remaining court heirs in a mess of a situation. As a potential crimson princess, Cress must somehow find a way to get through intercourt politics without getting herself - or her friend - killed.
Only one person can play the game of Fae politics better than anyone else. If she wants to survive, Cress is going to have to rely on the one prince she hates the most - the Prince of Frost.
USA Today bestselling author Helen Scott spends her time alternating between fantasy and reality. She likes to think she’d be sorted into Hufflepuff and would have been a Physical Kid from Brakebills. Her days are fueled by tea and cuddles from her four-legged kids and amazing husband in their home in the Chicago suburbs.
When not reading or writing, Helen can be found baking, enjoying a walk in the woods, crafting, or playing video games. She’s a lover of sushi and K-Dramas and is convinced there is magic in the world if you know where to look.
Whether paranormal or contemporary, Helen loves writing sassy, kick-butt heroines and drool-worthy love interests. She's the author of the House of Wolves and Magic series, the Cerberus series, and the Of Demons and Dragons series.
Soooo, in this book, we go to the headquarters of the Fae, and meet the two Queens. I'll be honest, the authors tried to paint the queens as these bad women who are villains, but I didn't think they were fearsome at all. Like much of this series, it lacks character development. Also, Ariana was there too, and just...no. she annoys the hell out of me. I was also confused by Roan's sudden love for Cress, I mean, where did that come from??? If there was something like a mate bond, maybe it would have made it believable, but there isn't.
One thing that annoyed me a lot was the way Cress appearance changes. On the first book, she had long hair that fell down her back in waves (according to the authors). Now she has short hair. Also her eye color also changes?? From amber to blue/gray? What?
Anyway, it was alright. The cliffhanger wasn't exciting at all, but I will finish this series. At least to have some closure lol.
I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters in this installment; the snark, the heat, the potential. I still have a ton of questions, but that is kind of the point. There is one moment when it appears her powers get revealed, but it fades to another scene and the mystery builds. I just KNOW there is more to her than meets the eye, changeling, half breed, what have you... Cress is unique.
Things are starting to move and build, launching the series forward and setting the stage for what appears to be an epic journey.

My Final Verdict on Court of Frost Heat, magic and danger are woven together in this fast moving, and sometimes disjointed, fantasy tale. Questions are answered, more are asked and the quartet of curious souls move ever closer together.
I stayed up till 2 a.m to finish this book and then debated whether I should start the next one immediately. Finally, I decided to be a little patient, so that I didn't end up with headache.
The book is amazing! There was much more conflict in this one compared to the prequel that kept things interesting. Cress developed from the rebellious girl who jumps head first into trouble to someone who thought things through and took advice from others.
In terms of romance, the lust was still there, but they also started caring for each other. Hopefully it'll turn to love in the next book. I did enjoy the smut though, it was well-written.
The book had many villains and I wanted to see how Cress would deal with each one. It was also difficult to decide whom I hated the most. I'm yet to decide. The book ended on a cliffhanger, so I expect to see a lot of action. I recommend it to all RH fantasy lovers. This is a must-read.
*Spoiler Alert* Book 2 kicks off with Cress (FMC) making a journey to Court of Frost with Roan, Orion & Sorrell. As the name suggests its a cold and cruel place ruled by two Queens - Crimson Queen & The Frost Queen. A dangerous place to be where politics, backstabbing and subterfuge are common place. Old enemies - Ariana is still causing problems and new guy Tyr is a source of mischief. Loving this series so much. The relationship and the banter between Cress & the guys is great to read. Oh and that cliffhanger ending?? Omg that was jaw droppingly good. Cant wait for book 3 now
Second book, these should be read in order. I had to steal some of my words from my review for the third book. I couldn't be bothered to stop reading to review this one properly. 😂
I enjoyed this series immensely, the characters were all so different, the storyline packed with everything you'd want. Action, mystery, suspense, and some sexy AF scenes. I need endless chapters of Cress and her princes. Seriously!
Encapsulated from the start, i fell more and more in love with the princes and Cress. The guys are sweethearts and they're so easy to love. I loved every second of this. The sexual tension, evil fae and the amazing storyline.
Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 1/5 —————-> I don’t understand the dislike for this series. I’m kind of vibing it. Spiteful queens, convincing brothers, princes all infatuated with her, touch her and die vibes, stalking. I mean it checks a lot of my boxes. 🤷🏻♀️
I don't think a sequel could've been better than this! The start of the story picks up right where book 1 left off, and honestly, I was so happy about that because sometimes time jumps in stories can just throw the reader off.
Remember how Cress brought her human friend along? With them being summoned to the fae realm and being called to the Court of Frost, we learn that humans don't survive there. With the boys already unhappy about a human in their court, they are at threat with being in the realm and harboring a human. You know damn well that Sorrell aint happy with Cress even more. But with them being summoned to the court, we also finally learn the history behind the war between the Humans and the Faes.
The war started because the Brightling Court trusted humans too much.
Are we really surprised? Humans finding out about the existence of magic, the power they could possess, and then taking it for themselves. We don't live in a world too far off where humans are selfish and greedy already.
We also finally see a different side to Sorrell with Cress. Each of the boys had grown up having their own issues with themselves and others. And with Sorrell, he just wanted to make sure his brothers would get their heartbroken, and he himself was protecting his heart. But with Cress, just like she was drawn to the castle, they are drawn to her. We also see Sorrell and Cress’s natural progression with each other and honestly? ITS ABOUT TIME. I’m surprised it didn't happen sooner, especially with that HOT camp scene he walked into between Cress, Roan, and Orion.
This ending is different from the last book. While both end in a cliffhanger, this one has you straight TRIPPING on how the third and final book is going to go. There's so many things that are going to happen, and don't forget, there's something that the boys didn't tell Cress about herself. I wonder what that could be?
Things have definitely stepped up in the second book of this series. The authors have pulled out all the stops and I did feel like the story, plot and character relationships were given a light dusting of sparkle to improve the brilliance.
Roan is no longer fighting his own attraction to the changeling Cressida, boldly making his feelings known especially to Ariana who I hope ends up rotting in some dungeon alone somewhere but I doubt I will be so lucky. She was a good antagonistic character to the main FMC and her men providing that slice of drama and political goals needed for a fae romance. But if you think that Orion is letting up his claim on Cressida so easily then think again. She chose him above all the others for her first time and that meant more to him than we could possibly know. And the reader is in luck because at long last due to some forced proximity and unwavering loyalty to his fellow throne brothers we do finally see the Ice Prince finally thawing as well.
Cressida is still the same, completely naive to the fae courts, she’s honest and doesn’t play the political games that her men are so used to navigating from the fae females which is so refreshing for them. But it also leaves her lacking as she fails to identify the dangers around her and how vulnerable she truly is with her lack of knowledge. Unfortunately, her men aren’t much help, staking claims, not educating her properly and just being generally possessive. The only single minded focus they all seem to have is getting away from the Queens of Ice and Fire
Overall, the second book did have slightly more in than the previous one but I do wish that there was a little more world-building mostly because as a preference I prefer books where there is a lot as I like to get absorbed in the worlds I escape too but there is enough for those where the world-building is not as important. I liked that we were able to visit the other fae courts and get some night into how their’s differs from the court the three prince’s rule. I also enjoyed the extra spicy scene we got with Cress and two of her men which was sizzlingly hot.
Despite the latter half of this review, I like the story, the characters, and most of everything. But, I feel like this one started to drag and you didn’t really know what was going on, I don’t know if it’s purposeful that stuff isn’t mentioned, if I’m missing it, or if the information I want just isn’t there.
Possibility of spoilers below:
At the beginning, you know they’re going to the Court of Frost and they’re journeying there and you do learn a bit about why the world is so desolate. But once they fall in the pass, it’s a fade to black of how they get to the castle and what happened with Cress’ magic and after she passed out.
And later, it mentioned the Feast of Beasts, I don’t understand the point of this tradition and wish it was explained, the queen talked for 2.5 seconds to the guests, there wasn’t a feast, and nothing seemed important (outside of Tyr). Why did she need an attendant (and if it was so important for her to not be alone because it’s so unsafe, why was she constantly being left alone??). And were the guys not curious about what she could have told them about Tyr, they went off searching for him yet could have also asked her. The lack of communication was frustrating.
You don’t learn anything about the Run of the Gods until it’s pretty much starting but even then, there isn’t much world building going, just the action that was the purpose of the scene, very rushed.
I also was a bit frustrated that Cress’ magic wasn’t mentioned much throughout the book. Book one made it seem like she was court of Crimson but somewhere in this one it made it seem like she wasn’t but there hasn’t been much talk about it besides her being “weak”. It could definitely be intentional but I think more info or hints should be dropped or something. You get this sliver of information about the Brightling Court but it too was very minimal and not really helpful.
This is the second book in the Twisted Fae series and you definitely need to have read Court of Crimson first. So if you haven't, run and do that now. Court of Frost picks up right where we left off. Cress and the guys end up in the Realm of the Fae with the worst possible carry on. A human. That's just where the fun begins. It was no accident they ended up there, they were summoned. Cress is about to get a crash course on all things Fae politics.
We really pick up the action in this book. Even though they are in the Realm of the Fae they have to travel to where they are going. It's not an easy journey. Once they make it to the castle, things don't get any better. After Roan decides to make a decision that effects them all, Cress finds herself in a whole new world of trouble. Sorrell really steps up in this book when it comes to Cress. Even if he's confused and makes poor decisions sometimes. Orion is still a sweetheart in my book which is odd as he's the dark one. Y'all know me and the dark ones.
We do get to meet a new character in this book and boy does he throw things up in the air. Not in a good way either. Lots of drama and action going on in this book. Now it does end on a dramatic cliffhanger. Like what the hell ladies, how could you?? But I have a feeling they won't keep us waiting too long to find out what happens.
I enjoyed the first book in this series and I think this second book just ups the ante. Can't wait to see where we go from here.

This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved the first book so I was excited to find out what was going to happen in the sequel. I was not disappointed either. So Cress, Orion, Sorrell and Rowan are in the fae realm and are summoned to court. Also remember she brought her friend along. Well the guys are not happy about that. However, Cress pretty much tells them that they are going to deal with it cause she was not leaving her behind to die. Sorrell seems to be a d-bag to Cress this whole time but is it an act or ruse so that he cannot catch feelings for Cress. However that does not stop Rowan and Orion. Que some smexy times. Unfortunately it only takes one moment that changes everything and Cress needs to learn how to get through all that will be expected of her. So be prepared for all the twist, turns and OMG moments. As you read you will see the intense story build and leaving you breathless and edgy. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens.

This book follows the ending of the first book with a perfection. And I absolutely love it. In this book Cress and the three princes find themselves in the realm of Fae where the Court of Frost is located. And as expected the trip that was not planned don’t happen without obstacles. Their biggest concern wont be on the road to the court itself but what happens when they get there. And how much trouble can two queens, one new guy and an old tradition cause? Well the fast answer will be a lot, but the best answer? Will be that you have to read it for yourself because i can say it’s worth it.
I loved the book through and through, the intensity and excitement, and add on a really nice steamy scene in a tent. And it’s incredible. But the ending? I hated it! Not that it was bad because trust me it was amazing. But i was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for a scene im sure would be so steamy when one of the most nerve racking cliffhanger happened. So now i have to star book 3 right a way and if you haven’t already, you should start the first one.

I love the style of writing!

Wow another amazing installment in the Twisted Fae Trilogy!
The book starts right where Court of Crimson took off as they land at Alfheim and now they must make there way to the Court of Frost.
This court however Cress soon discovers it is not the same as Crimson's or the princes that rule it -or at least most of them. Its much colder and dangerous especially to her and her human friend that she brought along.
Cress has to leave her behind in the travel to the new Court where she will meet the 2 Queens that rule. Things take an unexpected turn all round in this book as while some twists are forseen easily others where a shocker.
The cliffhanger ending has me dying to read Court of Midnight. The authors have some great writing that the suspense created has me needing more.
I would definitely recommend the story to other readers who appreciate Paranormal Romance. Can't wait to get the chance to read the finale of the trilogy though I have grown attached to the characters I must know what happens!
1) The ending of book 1 didn't match the beginning of book 2, it's like the authors decided to re-write how things happened. It's weird. At the end of book one, all the mmc's somehow knew she had a human with her, and spoke what happens to humans in the fae world etc. But in book 2, suddenly the ice jerk didn't know? lol. 2) Really can't get over how Groffet went from being a dwarf to a troll. Seriously complete opposites. Dwarfs are short, trolls are huge. How could you get them confused, and it's just freaking lazy writing seriously. 3) The whole point of the FMC doing all the dumb shit she's done was to find out her heritage, but I couldn't help myself and I looked at reviews for book 3. Guess what? We never quite learn about it. It's glossed over.
Seems like the authors didn't communicate well for this series at all and just threw together whatever they wanted. None of it made sense, and it was just a bad time.
Still just really an annoying book but I’m still reading? I feel like this could be saved if there was some kind of overarching plot that made more sense or that I could see us working towards but there’s really no main thread to follow, I was deciding to stop reading them but the ending of it intrigued me enough and the books are short enough that I’ve decided to at least attempt the third. Also how annoying for this to be called court of frost and NOT have Sorrell actually admit he’s into her, that seems wrong (and her inner monologue of “he’s hot but he’s an ASS” was driving me up the wall). Also how have we not found anything else out about her magic, like no attempts to train her, nothing? Seems strange after the whole first part was about getting her to reveal her magic.
Basically nothing makes sense in this book and I was rolling my eyes the whole time but I read it so….. guess it’s ok
This was an amazing second book! If you enjoyed the first one you will adore this second one! The FMC is amazing and her guys are so hot! She has to much she has to do and she has to work with her men to accomplish it. This is definitely a series that has to be read in order to understand what is going on. Cress has to learn about all the politics of the Fae and learn fast since this is not a realm to make mistakes in. The action is much more intense in this one than the last book. There were a lot of curve balls thrown and a certain new character is tossing everything up in the air. I loved how real these characters felt along with their flaws and emotions. I can’t wait for the next book! I don’t want to say too much for fear of spoiling anything but if you love Fae then this is an amazing series you have got to try.
So first off, I am writing this honest review after reading an advance copy from Booksprout.
This book, and the series in general, are a good read. One girl. Multiple sexy guys. Pursued and coveted by all. Super steamy stuff!!
While both books are a good and enjoyable read, I think the fast pace 0-60 sexual interaction cause personality issues to come across in the writing with Cress. I’m not sure if the quick changes in the characters makes some of the character development and interactions between them to fall short in areas and cause confusion to readers.
Also I didn’t see a reverse harem disclaimer when I started reading and that would have been nice.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What’s this? Book two done in two sittings as well? You betcha!
Court of Frost saw Cress meeting the cruel and cunning Fae Queens in their home realm, as well as a few more secretive characters which added to the depth of what the *heck* is going on behind the scenes?!?!
It was steamyyyyy, addictive, action packed and fast paced. Just the right amount of Fae boys and ladies in beautiful attire to absolutely fab girl over the setting.
I’m really hoping that Cress has some kind of hidden mega powers to prove all these judgemental Fae wrong, my only dislike for this book was that we didn’t see much more about her kind or her species revealed, and that Cress herself didn’t take many steps to find more out about the Fae and powers/Courts.
Onto book 3 to hopefully find out more and see how this wraps up!
This was an amazing read that I could not put down no matter what I needed to do. The pace at which this book moves along makes for an enjoyable read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them and no matter what you want to be there to help them out. You want to see them succeed no matter what may get in their way. Each of these characters are unique in their own way and they compliment each other with their differences. The story will not let you down no matter what and once you are done, you are needing more, much more. This is an amazing read that has to be read.
Cress is out of her depth. She may now belong among the fae but she is on over her head with fae behavior and court politics. She must keep her best friend safe and to do so means relying on the one person she would rather not. Still, since she is a magnet for trouble, if she wants to keep them both alive, she must trust the prince.
I love the fae. Always entertaining. Sexy, sly, dangerous. The characters are fantastic and the story is great fun. A likable lead female and a worthy villain. So much drama! The intensity grows along with the steaminess and suspense. That ending left me anxious for the final book. Should be a good one.
The continuation of Cress's story brings the reader deeper into the world of the fae, and it is one bumpy ride!!! The twists and turns make this book difficult to put down. Learning more about the fae men is enticing, and watching Cress bumble her way through Court politics is equal parts endearing and heart wrenching. Orion, Sorrell, and Roan are mysteries that beg to be unraveled, and the new cast of characters introduced in this book are so much fun to hate! I cannot wait for book three of this series!!! (Book two does end with a cliffhanger, so if you need to wait for book three to get the series, I will let you know when it's out.)
This story picks up directly after the end of the previous book, with the castle for the Court of Crimson landing in Alfheim and summoned to the Court of Frost. Danger presses in from all sides as Cress continues to navigate the new world she finds herself in as well as explore her growing relationships with her Fae princes. This installment is full of action, intrigue, a bit of angst, and plenty of steam. Great read that I’d recommend, both this book and the series as a whole. Can’t wait to see what the authors have in store for the conclusion this series.
A stunning story that is one that is unique and unable to be put down. It is drama that keeps you engaged. Suspense that keeps you guessing what is going to happen. There is a bit of mystery and definitely has some sexy scenes. Cress is developing at a beautiful pace. She is feisty and strong-willed. She is one that draws you in and doesn’t let go. Our prince's have grown as well and we get to see sides of them we didn’t in the first book. I love this series and can’t wait to read the next book in it. It is a phenomenal series so far and one that is a must read!!!!!!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a fantastic addition to the series!!! This story picks right where book 1 ended so if you didn't read the first book in the series I totally recommend that you one click you won't regret it. Cress's story dive us deeper into the fae world and politics. Things now are starting to get really intense with lots of drama, action, and intrigue it does end on a cliffhanger but I'm really excited to see what else is in store for this series. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Honestly, Orion? Love him, puppy dog. Roan? Hot as hell and so smitten he doesn't know what to do. And Sorrell? Needs to get his head out of his a** and really needs a hug. Like a good hug.
Tyr is Dark and smexy but definitely a big baddy, and I'm losing my mind waiting for some progress on why she's so special. I mean obviously she's special, she's a badass, and talks back to literally everyone, even the frosty queen, but come on, I would like to know why she's super glowing all the time and has magical life saving wind at her disposal. Mysterious wind that keeps getting mentioned but having no further investigation is my new pet peeve.
Also I hope her human friend will be okay.
