ARC Review📚 Possession by T.S.Reed

I gave this 4⭐️ We follow Katerina & Xavier, who meet and end up meeting, having a fun time, and then bump into each other a year later, and this starts their love story.

Strangers to Lovers, Alpha Male (she's mine), finding the ability to love & forgive.

I really enjoyed this and it was a great 2nd book in the Confession Series, I especially loved Eloise who is Katerina best friend and she gives off hurt my friend and they won't find the body vibes!

Possession – T. S. Reed
4 ☆☆☆☆

From strangers to friends to lovers... it might seem an easy road, but it's not. Not when the past is staying in front of the happiness.

At twenty five years Katerina Zamfir suffered more than some do in their whole life. Life was cruel with her and it still is, making ger fell all the pain, the loss, making her cry and break. It was hard to read what she's been through, I can't imagine how it must feel to be in her skin. But thinking about everything you can see how strong she is. 🥹

She's not seeing it, but Xavier Russo, the stranger with whom she has a one night stand at a wedding where she was a bartender, sees everything and one year after that moment, when he finds her, he is determined to not let her go. If he manages to do that and finds happiness, you need to read to find out 🫣

“You want the moon? I’ll get you the moon. You want a house full of paints and puppies and fucking picnic baskets for every occasion? You want galleries and studios? Pretty dresses? You want quiet nights with just me and you and candles?”
“Katerina, I will get you all of it. Just tell me what you want and it is yours. You’re my tomorrow, and my next day, and my forever. So tell me what you want.”

Possession was my first read of 2024 and I don't regret even a bit. I loved the book and Xavier. He's so perfect, even with his past who hurt him. From his first appearance he was the sunshine of the story, opossed to Katerina who is a little of a grumpy girl and in some moments pissed me off.

He's a gentleman and at the same time an Alpha male, he won't let her go, she is his from that very first night and everyone needs to know that. He will give her everything, he does everything just to see her smile.

I loved the age gap, even if it wasn't so obvious cause Katerina is older at soul and mind after everything that happened to her. I loved to read about a romanian female character, to see Xavier learn my language and say some words in it.

The book surprised me more than once, I didn't expect those things. I cried, I smiled, I laughed, I loved, I lived with the characters and it was a good read for the start of 2024, with a lot of emotions who escaped from the pages and made their way into my heart.

And I think that this shows how good an author is. I am a little sad that I didn't read the first book first (cause now I know the end of the two characters from there and I won't read it), but I am so so excited for the third book (the characters from that one are so funny, so different)

I really recommend this book, for the romance lovers, who enjoy a good age gap and are willing to cry a little with the characters 🤭😅

Congrats T. S. Reed 💖

I loved Collision and have been waiting for the second book to come out. This is a stand alone but in a connected friends group. This story follows Xavier and Katerina’s story.
Katerina is very guarded after things have happened in her past, she keeps herself at a distance from relationships due to this but Xavier is coming along to knock them all away! Xavier is sweet and gentle, with a hint of ‘keep your hands away/she’s mine’ vibe, he shows emotions but also takes charge when needed 😉
This is a ONS - strangers - friends - lovers. (This is also an age gap, she is 25-he is 35) They meet at Mik and Bens wedding, then don’t see each other again for a year and then literally ’bump’ into each other.
There are lots of twists and turns through the book that keep you turning the page. Although this felt more of a ‘slow burn’ book, the story of both Xavier and Katerina keeps you hooked as so much more is going on in the story and not just those two.
This book is overcoming heartbreak in the worse way and finding the strength to keep going with people around you!
I also love the side characters in Eloise and Asher (both FMC/MMC best friends) and I can’t wait to read their story next.

!!ARC REVIEW!! 🥇5⭐️

This book exceeded my expectations!! I started reading it with the thought that it would be good, it wasn’t. It was freaking great !!

I honestly like the writing and the story so much. This book has so much love and pain in it and it has a great way of making you feel exactly what the characters are feeling.

It has multiple POV’S which is always a plus in my book!!
My heart went out to out main girl Katerina because she was dealt a shitty hand in life but she was so strong and inspiring.

Our main alpha male, Xavier, though strong and dominant, was just one soft loving character. I can without any shame or doubts say that he has joined my book boyfriend list.

This book tackles a serious topic that many child bearing people could suffer and it brings light to the grief and pain you can feel even years later.

I love the relationship between out MC and her love interest, which is obviously Xavier!! The communication and understanding is on point. Their playful nature and love made my heart warm!!

The topic of the best friends of Xavier and Katerina? I can’t say much except that I loved them. Eloise is everything I want to be and whenever I read about her I just feel so much joy. Asher reminds me so much of my best friend and he is just amazing and the goofiest, funniest guy ever. These two characters have made the book a little lighter and funny!!

I sometimes forget that the Xav and Kat have an age gap because Kat is so mature and wise for the young woman that she is. Which means the way she grew and matured off of her pain and grief was written so well.

This book was an emotional one for me and I do recommend that you go into it with a strong mind. Even if you haven't experienced anything close to child loss, because the pain you experience for the MC is something that could make you cry.

Katrina's story is one that can bring you tears. But you also admire how strong she is.

I would 100% recommend Possession, the second book in the confession series, to any person who loves age gaps, alpha male, redemption type stories. And of course romance!

Okay ratings
My Emotional damage: 4.8/5
Romance: 4.8/5
Spicy: 2.8/5
Giddiness: 3.7/5 (especially when Xavier was so cute and loving towards Kat)

4.5/5 ⭐️

This is the second book in a series of interconnected standalones and my favourite out of the books so far. I read Collision(first book) quickly before reading Possession so I could have a grasp on what has happened, you do not need to read them in order but I highly recommend that you do so that the friend group makes sense! The first book is about Ben and Mikaela (brothers best friend, enemies to lovers), Possession is about Xavier (Ben’s friend) and Katerina.

Xavier meets Katerina while she’s bartending at Ben and Mikaela’s wedding. They have an instant attraction and get interrupted before Xavier can get her name or number. Fast forward to a year later, Xavier finds Kat again at a bar and still has the same attraction to her. Long story short, they decide to become friends due to Kat being apprehensive since she is still healing from a traumatic past. Xavier wants to prove to her that she is everything he wants and needs, and helps Katerina through her feelings of self doubt and trauma from her past. It is a beautiful story and I hope that there’s an extremes epilogue or that we get to see them again in the next book!

I love how TS brings up these traumatic experiences in a delicate, respectful way. Please check your trigger warnings as the first book talks about abuse and this book talks about child loss.

Tropes:
•Strangers to lovers
•Insta love/lust
•Age gap
•Found Family

TS has now become an automatic buy author for me and I cannot wait to read Asher and Eloise’s story!

10/10 would recommend!!

🌸 Possession 🌸

When he decided you're his, how do you escape ? But will you want to escape ?

Katerina,

Prologue : nine years earlier.

Seen the two faint pink lines on a pregnancy stick at the age of 16 ! With your best friend beside you in the school toilets, to running away to start a new life. But it catches up with her eventually..

chapter one. 1 year year ago.

Xavier,

Attending his friends wedding, stuck with his sulking friend. Then heading to the bar his suddenly focused in on a dark eyed almost black eyed, hot ! bar assistant. They both can't stop looking at each other. With his blood racing he, follows...

You cannot help but feel all the emotions in this novel. Love, heart ache, warmth and sadness. The book is about strength and support and not give up. I started this book and honestly couldn't stop reading, i really wanted to know Katerina's
Story. It's beautiful how she finds the support she needs, even though she try's to push it away. It stayed strong and forever more her rock and in turn, she became their's. The Beauty of Love.
Family, friend's and friends that become family 💕.

Book has got some triggers for people : the pain of child lose and it's lasting effect, depression and suicidal ideation.

Book is released 14th January 2023z

Thank you for adding me to your arc team 💕.

Before I start, I just wanted to say how I absolutely loved the first book Collison! And after reading Possession I know I am a hooked for life reader! This story follows Xavier and Katerina's story. There's a lot of different things I loved about this book, one of the top favorites being the tropes! Strangers to friends to lovers and an age gap! Oof!

Xavier is perfection, a kind and sweet soul but has that look of "Don't touch what's mine". You know the best things about a guy, he isn't afraid to show his emotions and loves to take charge. Katerina is guarded due to things happening in her past and wants to keep herself away from relationships. I need you to read this book to see how Xavier comes to show her how she should be treated. Although this was a slow burn, I truly loved the build of their relationship, the progression of the story, the world building, and the way that this is an absolute page turner and kept me hooked from the first page.

I can't wait to read about Asher and Eloise next, because I absolutely loved them as side characters. Please make sure to check your TWs!

Spice: 2/5 🌶️

This is an honest review in exchange for an ARC.

I have absolutely been waiting on bated breath for this book, ever since I read collision!! This book can be read as a stand alone but is part of an interconnected series (connected through the male friendship group)

This book follows Xavier and Katerina, who meet at the wedding of the first books couple, and have a ONS. They then meet again a year later by literally bumping into each other. Their love is hard at times due to Katerina being guarded after her past and Xavier's very "she's mine" attitude.

There is an age gap in this book (25f and 35m). However Katerina's best friend, Eloise, slightly steals the show with her "hurt my best friend and they will never find you" attitude 🤣 absolutely cannot wait for the 3rd book in the series and see Asher and Eloise's story.

I LOVED every second of this 😍 or I should say every page!! I'm glad it was a stand alone but a connected friends group.

I LOVE Katerina 🥺 And wish I could hold her and hug her and tell her everything is going to be okay. She's obviously traumatized from things happening to her past but Lovely Xavier comes strutting into her life and helps her deal with all of them 😍

I love a GOOD age gap Romance 😍🥵 I typically don't like a slower burn but this one was just beautiful and kept me hooked from the first page!

Xavier is my dream man I swear 🥹 sweet, gentle, protective and possessive and isn't afraid to show his emotions? YES please!

This is the second book in the Confession series, however it could be a standalone read. The group of friends are connected across both books with a small reference to events in book one, it will not leave you feeling lost.

This book is the story of Xavier and Katerina. Katerina does not have a good past and she carrie’s some heartbreaking personal details locked away behind the walls she has built around her heart. She keeps her distance from any relationships.

Xavier is soft and gentle, loving and caring with a bit of the need to be controlling. He enters Katerina life and wants to break down the walls, take care of her, protect her while moving on from her devastating past.

I would recommend reading book one first but only because I’m that kind of person I need to do things in order.

Great read.

I read this and it really gave me peace of mind in a way with the loss of my daughter. There were things I needed to hear that lovely old Norman said and feelings that were expressed in much better words than I can say. I will be rereading this when I need to feel something. I think the way Katerina felt is spot on and the control Xavier gives and takes leads into a very sweet dynamic. I can’t wait for book 3.

Good but not great

Overall the book is amazing. I loved their relationship, and the group friendship is just beautiful. Xavier is just so wonderful and beautiful and every positive description possible. Katerina 😪I loved her but I couldn’t stand her. I get that she was in pain and was going through hard time but come on 🙄. Some of her attitude and decisions were a little bit selfish and annoying. Anyway can’t wait for Asher and Eloise story.

I have not read the first book in this series and after reading this one, I wish I had! apparently they are connected but you are not lost when reading this book. It is a standalone. HOWEVER, reading this made me want to immediately start book one. Nothing like a age gap, possessive romance to get you going.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Again it was a bit too long in my opinion.
But I loved the characters. Their interaction was great and they were so funny. It was such a fantastic, fun and supportive group of friends. I loved it!
And Xavier can certainly be added to the list of book boyfriends. He was amazing!
Looking forward to the next book!

I had the absolute pleasure of Alpha reading this for my lovely friend T! I really loved it!!

T may have called some parts of her manuscript 'a chocolate ice cream emoji' but I loved every single sentence she wrote. She wrote a diamond-like draft and every time she edited it and made it better, it was like seeing the diamond from another perspective. Still stunning and purely perfection!!

As you can see, I started reading this on June 7th, (three days before Collision's release) and I finally read the last sentence on christmas eve. I dragged it out for seven months, I didnt want to finish it and have to wait even longer for Diversion.. (from what she's told me, its gonna be a 'fire emoji') I really wanted to savour it, as I knew that Possession would be perfection.. and **spoiler alert** .. IT IS!!

When I first met Xavier and Kat, they were so broken and steamy together! But through reading their changes; character development wise and through T's edits..

When my paperback arrived, (yes, i have a paperback copy, even though I alpha read this) I was so delighted to finally hold it in my hands, from reading it in T's manuscript, to a beautiful book that could sit perfectly in a book shop!!

T, You are an auto-buy author! I will read anything you ever write! Even if you think it isn't good enough, as I believe it is, as you are a fantastic author! :)
