On a certain day, Chu Yi, feeling quite peculiar, goes to a bar for a drink and ends up drastically changing his life.
Unspeakable deeds were done and he accidentally picks up a husband.
It was quite a coincidence that this husband of his turned out to be a senior from his school, the one who people call a ‘mountaintop flower’.
However, he didn’t expect that this aloof and hard-to-approach husband of his to not only flirt without batting an eye but also love eating vinegar (getting jealous).
When he talks to others, his husband eats vinegar.
When he laugh with others, his husband eats vinegar.
When he compliment others, his husband eats vinegar.
Even when he post about anything related to others on his Moments on WeChat, his husband eats vinegar.
Chu Yi understood later that his husband should be pampered, and should be the only one in his heart.

Qin Yiheng has always lived his life the way he planned and he has never strayed off from his plans. Until one day, he met a certain person in a bar and certain things happened.
In a responsible manner, he decided to marry this person, brought them back home and included him in his plans. He was ready to live a life of mutual respect with this person.
However, he didn’t expect that the husband he picked up would actually make him so addicted.
Finally! After days and days of being busy and falling to illness after exhausting my body, I finally finished this!
First, what can I say? I thought Do You Like Me? and The Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish was fluffy, but none of them compare to the amount of fluff and teeth aching sweetness this book has! 💕 It was so worth it. I loved how everything, including small details were beautifully wrapped up. I loved the couple and how after angsty and sad moments, they communicated and talked things out —resolving their issues.
I never expected this to be angsty but boy, the angst was real for a fluffy modern danmei. It wasn't crazy like Meatbun novels, but enough where I wanted to throw the book from frustration. Especially towards Chu Yi, the bottom. However, it made it that much sweeter when they finally would resolve things.
I found this so incredibly funny! If you ever need to recover from an angsty novel, this will cure your depression! It's also not long at all with only 83 chapters and 8 extras. 🥰 I recommend it to anyone who enjoys green flag couples with fluff and wholesome content.
The side characters were hilarious! Chu Yi's best friend always saved the day, while Qin Yiheng's cousin made things worse, but better at the same time haha.
This story is about a half shot gun wedding where a two men that had a one night stand, end up meeting again after a month, and where Qin Yiheng asked Chu Yi to marry him with the explanation of it just being convenient. The two develop feelings for each other over time, and you see how jealousy, sadness, tenderness, and communication really makes their relationship bloom as they get to know each other.
It was hard rating this one. The story was pretty good, but too sweet for my taste. I almost didn't finish it.
They got married in the first chapter, and the book was about their new life and how they fell in love (slowly 😫). Nothing happened. There was no drama or big misunderstandings. A very light read.
Only one thing bothered me. When they met one of them was drunk and they had a one-night stand. I don't feel comfortable reading about drunken sex with strangers (or at all really ). There are no details or descriptions, the author just mentioned this at the beginning of the story. The drunk one didn't remember much, but he wasn't worried and felt good about it. It's just me being me ☹️, I guess.
Either way, this was pure honey... with sugar on top. I needed to stop a few times because it was too cloying 😑. Be prepared if you want to read.
Nada. Léanlo.
I've been staying up for the past days because I've been grinding a project and this book really helped ease my back pain, haha! It's sugar, it's sugar, it's sugar! This book is really full of nothing but sweetness. I really like the fact that I can just turn my brain off when reading this but it still has some substance so it won't make you feel dumb, get it? I, to be honest, don't know how I'll rate this one.
If his flowers are gone, he can buy another bunch. It’s Qin Yiheng who’s his future. There's minimal angst about Chu Yi's family but that angst made me genuinely like this. Because we at least get to see layers from the characters and their situation. Chu Yi, despite being radiant and excellent, he only wants to be small and ordinary, to blend into the crowd and not attract attention. That line about him seeing himself as "as humble as a dog" really struck me, it says so much about his lack of confidence and how his childhood shaped the way he exists in relationships. I think that angst works because it gives depth to all the sweetness surrounding it.
“We are each other’s husbands. We have built a family together. We are a family. There is nothing troublesome or not troublesome.” What made me really like Qin Yiheng aside from his stiff and vinegar-filled personality, is his gentle protectiveness to Chu Yi. Telling Chu Yi that he doesn't need to force himself anymore, that he has someone now, that he doesn't need to cater to people, feels like Qin Yiheng slowly unteaching him the instinct to endure everything alone. He gave Chu Yi another meaning to family. Great!
I don't really have complaints because I didn't have expectations for this book, I may think that it's too long for the plot but I also think that it's just enough. But it was really fun reading this one, plus the great and funny side characters too especially Zhao Xin, haha! I love how Qin Yiheng is full of vinegar and Chu Yi is full of love. They deserve each other! Their love story is too good to be true! But that's also part of their charm.
*Deep, dreamy sigh* Where do I even start with this sugary sweet cotton candy read? I'm so glad that I joined a danmei group on facebook because this never would've crossed my radar otherwise and that is a DAMN shame. Chinese BL stories are in a league of their own and while we (english readers) have to accept that translations aren't perfect (especially fan translations) it doesn't detract from how enjoyable they are. This one is the first modern danmei I've read and it was absolutely fucking adorable and I loved it, but I will probably stick to wuxia/xianxia/historical danmei in the future because I was really missing that special something. That being said I recommend this as a starter danmei and as a palette cleanser, or if you're someone that just really likes super fluffy, super sweet romances.
CY & QY's romance made my face hurt -- and that's not an exaggeration or a euphemism, my face literally hurt from how much I was smiling while cruising through the 90-something chapters of fanslation on my tablet. From the very first chapter the humor, the cheeky narration, the banter (especially when QY didn't know he was flirting!), all of it just made me feel warm and fuzzy. Their relationship starts AND progresses out of order (one night stand, to marriage, to "chasing", to love) but the way things start to fall together, the way their feelings develop and they pursue them, then the way they fall in love ... it’s all incredibly cute and heartwarming.
There are some things that as an english reader I wasn’t familiar with and the translator (snaggletooth) did a great job with notes! But I had to look up the vinegar thing because while the context clues are there, I felt like I needed to know to enjoy the humor as it was referenced a lot. The main character Chu Yi (CY) mentions “sugar” a lot, which means compliments, love, affection, affirmation (at different times) and in contrast “vinegar” is more or less jealousy (or insecurity). So the title means that CY accidentally married a jealous man, and boy oh boy does it lead to some REALLY cute moments and lines. This being one of my absolute favorites:
Qin Yiheng sighed softly, "Chu Yi, I don't want others to know you better than I do."
*swoon*
I don’t want to spoil too much so I’ll wrap it up by saying that the supporting characters are all really great, especially the ones closest to them that are rooting them on (their assistants, ML’s cousin, MC’s bestie, their moms). They played a pretty key role in things getting better because the ML (main’s love) Qin Yiheng (QY) is very autistic-coded and needed a few pushes in the right direction and some guidance with these feelings he's never experienced and doesn't understand. The MC is also slightly traumatized from his upbringing (not too bad with the TWs, the translator does give you a heads up on chapters though and I love them for it) and that leads to him being rather timid in relationships and a people pleaser, so he doesn’t always communicate his needs.
Thankfully that and a small problem with the MC’s dad that rich hubby takes care of are the only “drama” aspects, the rest is very Slice-of-Life and chill. It’s a really snuggly sweet story and I really loved it!
I think the love between them developed at an unusual pace. Also, Qin Yiheng character is still medium-developed when the story end. A great and fun read, it’s 3.8/5 for me.
PURE PURE PURE SUGAR!!!! surprisingly, w all those sugary plot it's not even tiny bit cringe. really love how natural and fluffy their relationship progress.
its cute and makes no sense if this happened irl lol i mean i would never date emotional constipated men its emotional draining but their story cute nonetheless (bcs its fiction duh)
“accidentally married a man full of vinegar” is such a sweet read.
marriage of convenience after meeting once. chu yi and qin yiheng are complete opposites, one is the most outgoing person ever and the other one is so cold and aloof everyone is intimidated, and both of them are trying to navigate their marriage with as little misunderstandings as possible, because they do actually want this to work. them getting to know each other, learning how to take care of each other and actually slowly falling in love is so endearing i was fuming with envy because damn this love exists only in books. cold qin yiheng learning how to pursue chu yi because he started genuinely loving him and wanted to spend the rest of his life with him, and chu yi having second thoughts because he felt like he can get replaced since he’s nothing too extraordinary. them comforting each other’s worries made me feel so warm. i love them, go read it if you want something sweet without anything angsty <3

5/5 this book was perfect, very few modern danmei can catch my heart and attention, yet this was able to do just that , this is my second reread and I still read it with the same enthusiasm as the first time , the relationship between them is so beautiful and adorable, the side characters are so loveable and there wasn't much of plot twist nor antagonist in this (aside from Chu yi's dad 💀) and I love that they didn't give us a "was in love with him since long before" , they met as adults , got married and fell in love in the process of cohabitation , overall it was a beautiful soft read , i don't always wish to have a thick plot with plot twist that make me rack my brain , something light and sweet is very much welcome, I wish to get more stories like this

Chu Yi and Qin Yiheng are the main couple in this danmei novel and if you're looking for something sugary to jump into, this is the perfect story.
If you're looking for an actual story (like with plot and character development), this isn't the one for you.
I promise that if you ever bored, you can skim chapters ahead because truly NOTHING happens aside from two people getting to know each other in 91 chapters. On the plus side, everything is cute and wholesome because of that.
Ohhh this one is full of sugar sugar sugar 🥰 Qin Yiheng and Chu Yi are the sweetest. They struggled to communicate in the beginning but they were getting better as the story progressed. The mutual pinning is wholesome too! Xiao Yi is so cute and Yiheng grows his character🥺 In the end, they have a healthy relationship and I'm so happy to see them together ❤️
4.5- cute fluffy story about two people falling in love after a flash marriage. Little real conflict but two well suited people learning to be in a relationship. Was fun to watch them start liking and loving each other. Simple feel good story
If you’re looking for something with no drama, completely sweet from beginning to end then this one is for you. There is no plot whatsoever tho, just a story of 2 people getting to know each other and falling in love after getting married (yea after, you read it right).
Fluffy, sweet and adorable! Love when MCs and MLs are communicative and don't let external factors influence their love lives for the worse. Qin Yiheng raised the bar for husbands for both men and women. Chu Yi deserves a stable and happy life where he only gets showered with love and comfort!
"As soon as he thinks that someone would be making things difficult for Chu Yi in a place he can't see, he would feel very uncomfortable. Why should his baby suffer from this kind of misery?"
