My life has never been typical. Most people weren’t professional ballerinas. Most people didn’t have two happily married, four century old dads and an aunt who was actually your mother. Most people didn’t have pointed ears they had to hide or wings that would pop out of their back when they got too excited or angry. Most people didn’t have my problems.
But it turned out, I had the same mundane human problems as them.
My boyfriend cheated on me. My best friend lost her job. My two other roommates refused to grow up. And I was suddenly twenty-five and realizing I wasn’t happy. I was, however, the type of girl who solved her own problems. I just need to get away from my life for a while to clear my mind. Thanks to the Neverland Classified app, I found myself the perfect little cottage in Megelle Island to run away to for Christmas.
No work, no stress, and absolutely no boys. It’s the perfect plan, what could go wrong?
*Part of a mini-series but can be read as a standalone, in any order with the others
I have loved each one in the series. They can be read alone, but you will want to read them all. This one is flirting, fun and has a lot going on. These are some of my favorite characters....but I think I have said that about all of them. Just read the story already
Cameron is a fae who lives in Vegas and hates it. The men are pigs there & women can't even defend themselves without being sent to another realm. That rule needs an exception for attempted rape or rape! She moved there with her best friend who she considers family. Her best friend is Brittany who injured her knee & can't dance be a professional ballerina anymore. So Brittany is a waitress & constantly having guys manhandle her at work. Cameron has been dating a string of fae who constantly cheat on her. Finding her boyfriend making out in a pool while she watches with a girl she knows is her breaking point! She needs to get away. Brittany has the perfect solution. A house swap on Megelle Island. She find Kate Graham who just listed her cottage. Wait for Kate's story. Now like the other books in this story Jude & Cameron's felt like a Hallmark worthy movie. With some rip your clothes off sex thrown in. To make the story even more heart wrenching there is an adorable 7 or 8 year old, I don't think they ever give an accurate age. We just know she is over 5 years old because that is when her mom walked out on her family. Nicole is a model now and quite famous. She does do right by her daughter by sending money, gifts, phone calls & visits when she can clear her busy schedule. Kate was dating Lark Vauntero who dumps her. She tries to do it nicely but I don't think that's possible! Anyway Kate is upset not devastated because she didn't love Lark. She was more in love with the idea of them falling in love over time. Lark told her all the royal had soulmates. And Kate was wasting her time when the could be finding her soulmate or someone to love. Kate realizes it will be impossible to get over her when her face is on ads all over the Island. She knows their are other Fae in Vegas so she makes a haste decision & lists her house on the swap site. And gets a fast response. She doesn't even tell her family as she leaves for a month. Imagine Kate's surprised face when s finds 3 women at the apartment that she didn't know about. Couple that with Gem a walking out of her bed naked. Yeah she has no shame. She's a stripper. This really made the story go downhill for me. Gone was the Hallmark feeling all the previous 4 books achieved which was sad. I loved the others. Now don't get me wrong the part about Kate & Jude and his daughter, Daphne was so sugary sweet I was tearing up. And the love story between Kate & Brittany was okay but I thought it was done a disservice because it wasn't given equal time as Jude & Cameron's story. If Gemma & that'll hadn't been in the book. I feel like they were unnecessary & took away from the love story. Back the Jude & Cameron's story I was so blown away with the way Nicole decided to be the bigger person & fix what she caused. That's all I will say because you know that I don't reveal endings.
Cameron, a very gifted blue haired Fae just found her boyfriend cheating with a human. She suspected but now she has proof an that is enough to throw his behind to the curb.
During that time, Kate, a teacher island resident just got dumped by her princess girlfriend who admitted that she doesn't love her.
Kate finds a website specializing in apartment/residence swap for a given period of time. As this is the Christmas season, they both land on the same website and proceed with the swap.
One will travel to Sin City and the other to the island to each find what they hope will change their lives.
Bravo to the authors for writing a festive story filled with obstacles that have the way to complicate things without rendering them insurmountable if you have the right partner.
I highly recommend this book and rate it with 5 Stars.
This was really quite good - maybe even excellent. I really enjoyed it. it was sweet and contained not one, but two love stories. Also, a mother who left her husband and child when said child was small has returned and is trying to redeem herself. The characters were great and I really liked them all. I found myself moved to almost tears a couple of times.
However, the proof readers/editors did a poor job of finding and fixing typos/mistakes. If there's only one or two I generally ignore it and move on. But I found no less than 7 or maybe 8, and it was annoying. Little things like that kept this from being a 5 star read because those little annoyances pulled me out of the story and affected my enjoyment. Beyond that I really enjoyed this.
LaVaun's stories are interesting: The Coven books being my favorites out of all the series--but I digress. I enjoy the dynamics of the individual and "soulmated" social relations; and being a small town girl, I can imagine myself living in such a place as Megelle Island. The many nods, via one liners/quotes, to some of the most highly acclaimed books and films in the entertainment industry today are well-placed. My only criticism--I hope it's taken as constructive--is the lack of proofreading and proper editing. The errors in "Stuff My Stocking" were often quite distracting. No doubt, I'll be reading more from LaVaun (and Montero) in the future and hope this will be a non-issue.
Okay, firstly, loooove the names of all these books. Secondly, fantastic conclusion to such a cute and fun series. I absolutely adore all the couples. This book definitely hit the feels. That epilogue was epic! Chandelle and Megan have created another fantastic series.
Stuff My Stocking (The Night Realm: Christmas Marked Book 5)
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 loved this world they've created so much, it's full of amazing characters and I love reading about the different couples and the soulmates, enjoyed the epilogue and I definitely recommend this book 📕 / series 📚 !!!!
I wasn't into tis book because it changed the background of Cameron. I loved the original story of how she found out that she was fae, becoming a Storekeeper and all her battles. That is one of my favorite books. In the original story, she didn't know she was Fae, she only worked at the casino and was not a dancer, I really was disappointed in what was done to her.
Just a lovely story. I hadn't thought about this as a romance book but it actually is. I loved it just as I have all the others. I chose to read it due to the fantasy genre it deals with. Could you imagine I mean, powers, immortals, fae, mortals, mages, vampires, shifters, and CHAOS!
The epilogue was epic...the entire series is epic so far, I can't wait for more!! I loved the way the story shifted between the two main characters, but combined at the end was great.....it just flowed.
What a series! What a story! All 5 books are incredible and continue to make you want more. More of each story, and more of Megelle Island. Come on ladies , we want more.
I’ve read the whole series and loved every book. I absolutely loved how the epilogue brought it all together. It makes me said 6hat it all over as I would gladly keep reading this series forever!
I loved this book, tied for first a long side ‘Bite me, Santa’ I don’t want to sound needy but PLEASE tell me there is more to come from this series. I have absolutely adored the characters and just the light hearted nature.
Wow! I love this series it had me laughing so hard had tears coming down my chees. I was hoping for more there's A few more to get their soulmates. Please let there be more. Thank you so much. Always a fan.
All of the books in the series were fun and quick reads. This one definitely reminded me of the movie The Holiday, so that made it even better. The magic of Christmas, soulmates and family. I am glad I read all 5 books!
I couldn’t stop reading these books. This is the last and that just can’t be. I have to many questions that are left unanswered! Read all 5 books! You won’t regret it! Hopefully more are coming!
I love this series of books. The stories are written to engage and they do. I cannot turn the pages quick enough. I also enjoy that you see how the Islander stories are woven together. They feel like old friends. Ladies you did it again. I go back to read this series time and again.
Another fab read from the ladies. I loved this world they've created so much, it's full of amazing characters and I love reading of all the stuff they get up to.
These Christmas books based on Megelle Island in The Night Realm series are so much fun!! Like a Hallmark movie in book form. A definite seasonal must read!
Really enjoyed this one - liked to see the events that overlapped with earlier books from another viewpoint, and really enjoyed the supportive friendships and family connections.
