But the people are starving. The government is in chaos.
Welcome to Venezuela.
On the heels of an attempted assassination that has left her fighting for her own life, President Maggie Trousdale is once again faced with the impossible task of securing a volatile Free World. When an anonymous informant provides evidence that the assassination attempt was an act of international aggression, Trousdale has no choice but to chase the enemy into the heart of economically devastated Venezuela.
She’ll send the Prosecution Force—Reed Montgomery and his team of off-the-books operators who are motivated by their own thirst for revenge. Deep in hostile territory with global security on the line, what Reed finds in South America is worse than anyone imagined.
A superpower is making a play. Venezuela’s wealth is up for grabs.
If it falls into the wrong hands, it just might fund the next world war.
The fourth title in Logan Ryles's action-packed Prosecution Force series kicks everything up a notch. From Moscow to Caracas to Washington, Reed and his team will fight harder than ever to forestall war before it's too late.

Plenty of action, political intrigue and good characters. Logan Ryles' writing gets better with each Reed Montgomery book. It's hard to describe the books in this series without spoilers and that certainly would not be fair for a thriller.
Failed State, #4 - My first of this series and I did not miss the first three books. Standalone, interesting with Wolfgang as a member of another "group". 4*
Good story lines, good characters and plenty of action with good dialog and some humor. There are parts of hollywood influence and some boring bits. There are more parts interesting and intriguing. Well written and clean, nothing graphic. Source: Ryles' ARC team.
The Wolfgang Pierce Series: That Time in Appalachia, prequel - An intense, riveting story about the two days before his fifteenth birthday that changes Pierce's life forever. Recommend read first. 5* That Time in Paris, #1 - Wolfgang becomes part of the elite Charlie Team. Pretty neat trick how Wolf stopped a merger. 4* That Time in Cairo, #2 - Picks up four months after Paris ends. I was a bit bored with this story. It was too much hollywood for me, but what they found was interesting in several points. 3* That Time in Moscow, #3 - Pick ups one month after Cairo. 4* That Time in Rio, #4 - Picks up exactly where Moscow ends. Plenty of action. 4* That Time in Tokyo, #5 - Picks up three months after Rio. Boring beginning and gets worse. 2* That Time in Sydney, #6 - Intense with a lot of happenings. 5* That Time in Bangkok, #7 - Cliffhanger. 4*
Mason Sharpe Series: Point Blank - 4* Take Down, #2 - 5* End Game, #3 - 5*
I received an ARC through "Severn Publishing" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story begins with Reed, Wolfgang and Turk idle since that attempted assassination of Maggie, POTUS Maggie is in the White House recovering, but she calls a meeting to learn what has been done to find out who was responsible for the attempt. No answers were forth coming. While this was going on, a high-ranking Russian was in the process of being arrested. He managed to escape and the next time he was heard from is when he was waiting at Wolfgang's home. He relayed information that pointed to who was behind the attempt. Wolfe contacted Reed and Turk for a meet where he relayed this information. Following the meeting, Reed later contacted Maggie and told her what was learned. As a result, Reed, Turk and Wolfgang made a trip to the location where the Belsky, the one behind the attempt, was located. Their task was to bring him back to the U.S. It turns out there was more going on that they wound up getting involved in.
To learn who else was behind the attempt, what other events the team faced and who assisted, what transpired in Washington and how this all played out in the end, you must read this book. You won't be disappointed.
Will the Prosecution Force succeed in their manhunt?
Failed State, the fourth book in the Prosecution Force thriller series lives up to its billing as a thriller and is an excellent addition to the series. This installment takes Reed and Turk to Venezuela to extract a person of interest in President Trousdale’s attempted assignation. To say their tasking is fraught with risk is an understatement. Once again, this story is layered like a set of Russian nesting dolls, and each layer is just as intricate as its predecessor.
While I have been blown away by the first three books in this series, Failed State took the series to a new level. I would have to say of the four books this is my favorite not just for all the action, but for the human interest woven into each of the character’s lives as the story progresses.
When I was offered a review copy of this book by the publisher, I didn’t realize I hadn’t read the first three. I’m sure glad I went ahead and read the three earlier books because this book would not have been nearly as enjoyable. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and chose to provide my review.
Failed State will keep you at the edge of your reading chair! This is another riveting volume in the Prosecution Force series, with Reed Montgomery and his cohorts causing mayhem at the same time they try to prevent World War III. While working to save the world, will they lose those closest to them as a result?
This book is action packed but also takes a deeper look at the relationships between the characters, which makes them more relatable. There's a job to be done, but in the end, we see what matters most to these heroes of the moment.
For full disclosure, I had the privilege of reviewing an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I can honestly say without a doubt that if author Logan Ryles has one fault, it's writing books that are very hard to put down and get finished in record time. I can't wait until the next one!
It seems like the CIA is looking to eliminate Reed or getting him to eliminate someone else. Not this time. An attempted assassination was made on President Maggie Trousdale and she wants to know who is behind it. They blew up the boat that he was on, so obviously he is dead. Only he isn't and the proof, or at least the reliable probability of the proof, comes from Wolfgang Pierce. He is in Venezuela and now Reed is important to the Administration again. Think "plausible deniability". He and Turk needs to extract him from maybe the most volatile country in South America, and bring him to the President. Page turning excitement awaits!
Very interesting storyline. The US getting involved with another countries internal politics and potentially causing a regime change Obviously this stuff happens in the real world, but this story also looks at the trials and tribulations of the powers that be and the legalities of the process. Thankfully is this, they have the Prosecution Force a totally deniable team to take the heat should things go wrong 2 of the team are getting older/growing up, the 3rd is picking himself up after his world collapses around him It's a good book, no real surprises, but it keeps you interested with the sub plots
I was greatly appreciative of an ARC. A thriller taken from today’s headlines with most interesting characters. Although reading the previous novel in the series would offer some background, it was not really necessary in this case. The novel fully paints the psychology of each character and weaves it into a compelling narrative. In addition to action/thriller readers, I would highly recommend this to policy wonks to better understand kinetic solutions. Great book
Lots of action in this new entry to the series. Previous characters and events are woven into the new plot which means we have old bad guys, foreign and domestic, hiding out and plotting evil in some new places — Russia, U.S., Venezuela. By when the story brings in the Prosecution Force, bad guys beware. I received an advanced copy of this story from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.
He just keeps getting better. I can’t wait for Hollywood to come calling and The Prosecutor is on the screen. Best story yet, kept me turning pages. Worst part is when the story comes to a close. I must admit, the tease for the next installment did not make me happy, but I really have no choice. Waiting will be torment until I can tear through another installment of Logan’s thrill ride.
I am usually reluctant to recommend a book. Logan ryles is the exception. I know "Can't put it down" is over used, but it is the case in every one of his books. Whenever Someone recommends a book to me I go to good reads. (I need at least 4.2 to try a new author) Check out the goodreads numbers for Ryles. Another great thing about his books is that you really don't lose anything by not reading previous books in the series.
Yet again Reed and his team are faced with impending disaster after being used by the White house and specifically the President to track down and capture the Russian oligarch who hired the sniper who tried to kill her. They end up in Venezuela and ultimately end up in a situation where they have to fight their way out and escape with the oligarch against overwhelming odds and very little help from the government who sent them.
President Maggie trousdale is determined to hunt down the people behind her shooting on US soil. The hunt takes Reid and the team alongside a female British special agent to Venezuela where people are trying to take advantage of an unstable government and broken economy. Lots of action, lots of characters and not as much character development in this one. As always great escapist drama, where the good guys take a beating but generally still end up on top.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review. The story starts fast and continues fairly fast. It does allow the reader to weave with the plot all the way to the exciting finish. The ending may have left room for a follow on book. I sincerely hope to see a follow on book as the characters were great and very believable.
Well, the action took a while to be developed in the plot, Reed Montgomery and his off-the books team try again to make the world safe from evil. Reed makes a decision that leads him wondering if he made the right decision, to put his life in danger again, possibly losing his family in the midst of that decision.
I really enjoy the Logan Ryles books on the Prosecution Force. The non stop action and story ensure that you want keep reading, even late into the night when it’s time to go to sleep. The stories also have sufficient similarities to real world dramas.
Kinda wishing the assassin had finished the job. Muddy Maggie is frickin’ insufferable and hard to root for. In fact, the only characters I like in this one are Turk and the one legged guy…they aren’t even memorable.
Book 4 of the Prosecution Force is further proof that Ryles has successfully graduated to the big leagues. This thriller is ripped from the headlines, action comes at a breakneck pace and the dialogue rings true to character.
One of the Prosecution Forces best yet. I'm sorry to see them come to an end, but I get it. Mr. Ryles is a really good writer who keeps my interest throughout and keeps the excitement going. Very relatable characters, too. A great mix for a great story.
Loved the action and suspense.. The main characters did as I expected, it definitely was adrenaline fuled. The only issue I have is the editing, there were words left out and you put in your own. That is why I only gave it a 4. I will read the next one.!!!!!!!
Mr.Ryles definitely knows how to write a page turning loose a lot of sleep book!! Lots of dialogue and suspense on every page. Definitely recommend this book to all walks of life
This was quite the exciting book. The Prosecution Force solves the mystery of who shot the President and brings them to justice. Then decides to retire. But of course it’s not that easy. We will see in the next book.
What can I say! Mr. Logan Ryles delivered another action packed story. The book continues where the third one left off and the puzzle pieces came together flawlessly. Can't wait to read his other books.
