Previous to Sparks, Ryan coached internationally and US collegiate rowing at Yale University, Wesleyan University, and Bates College. Leigh Carroll is a former Brown University and US national team coxswain. She holds a Masters in Education from Stanford University and is a full-time educator. She also coaches coxswains at Sparks camps. Prior to Stanford, Leigh coached at Harvard University.
