Lockdown Lessons

Rate this book
Life always provides us with all the lessons we need. If only we listen.

Woh har lamha kuch kah rahi thi mujhe
Meri gaflat ke kuch suna hi nahi

[Life was speaking with me every moment
How unmindful of me to not have listened]

In a world of easy distraction and mindless busy-ness, The Lockdown provided the space and context for many to connect with their inner self. And what emerged were lessons that we should have heard long ago. Lessons not just for the lockdown but for all times to come.

In the book - Lockdown Lessons - the author Riaz Mulla shares his insights in the form of Learnings, which came to him while he meditated and had a conversation with his Inner Self during the lockdown. Those moments spent in quiet introspection made Riaz discover the miracles happening in his life, and his intent in putting them together in a collection is to open up these miracles for others.

The words, Riaz says just came to him, while he pondered on life’s many shades and they are presented in the book in exactly the same way and order, with no embellishments whatsoever.

The author feels that these learnings are universal and what we will get out of it depends upon our state of mind then. And that makes this a book to go back to and discover newer and deeper meanings each time.

The simplicity of the wisdom in the Learnings and the deeply intuitive writing, is what makes Lockdown Lessons a book that will perhaps encourage the reader to start a meaningful conversation with his or her own self and embrace the unexpected with deeper courage and faith.

I know the author personally. He is a great personality that clearly reflects in his writing. My review is going to be a bit biased for obvious reasons!

No gimmicks, no unwanted drama, the book is plain old school writing, that makes you sit back and introspect at a lot of places. Love the book for its simplicity!
