I'm Author C. Monet of Clarksville TN. I write transparent creative romance with a splash of urban. My stories feature, smart, witty boss women and swoon-worthy, loving, flawed men all looking for one thing..... LOVE. Yes, you guessed it I write about love. My novels usually center around instalove, opposites attract, and redemptive love. However, I've been known to come up with love that cant be placed in a box. All in all, love is the motive no matter how it's reached. My books will leave you full; full of love, gems, and pieces of me.
Once life started to happen for and around me I grabbed the pen and decided to unmute my truth. I pen love unfiltered and undefined because rules can’t exist with creativity. The poetry in my words takes you to a place filled with dreams and aspirations of love and how it heals the soul.
This was an excellent read I loved all the characters. I was so proud of Lia her growth was something amazing and I’m just glad that she was able to find love and happiness after being forced to become an adult and parent before her time. She never let her circumstances smother her dreams to the point where she lost her passion and that was admirable.. The love she shared with Key was so amazing to see them go from enemies to lovers that was truly amazing...I loved the friendship and the family dynamic between all the characters it was so refreshing...Definitely a five star read for the win!!!
I loved this book. It hit home for me sometimes we as women are forced to grow up soo we than we need to and have not even begun to understand who we are.
Lia and Key! 🙌🏾 First off, the healing that took place within Lia after all the heartbreak. Aruba did her some good. I love that after giving so much for her sister, she wanted to focus on self. I’m so proud of her for chasing her dreams. It’s nothing like having your own. I loved the drive and determination that Lia had. Not many would have been able to take on that responsibility of being mother/big sister at an early age. She's strong! And even stronger for going to therapy. Many feel ashamed to take such a step! The bond that her and Ty has most long for in a friend. He was a true ride or die. And Keyyyyyyy! He was so loving and caring and affectionate. I thought it was so cute that he was so determined for them to work. He kept saying, “just try!” All he wanted was for her to put in the effort and he would do the rest. He knew they were stronger together than apart. He just wanted them to fight and fix their demons together. Although damaged, they both had room to repair! C Monet did her thing yet again and it had an urban feel and I loved the different storyline from her. I definitely recommend.
Dahlia had a rough life. I love how she looked out for her sister. I think Ty was so wrong for going behind her back the way he did. If that was me he’d be dead to me.
I thought Key and her were feeling each other at one point and then it went left. It took a long time but they got back to a friendly relationship. I kept wondering if it was only by Ty left. This was a good hood story. There were some errors that I wasn’t sure if it was intentional or not, like using rather instead of whether. If that can be distracting. Hood talk/slang is one thing but and it still flows for me but when it’s not, it forces me to reread the sentence.
Anyway I’m happy Dahlia had a nice middle/end to such a rough life and she wasn’t completely lost to the streets. I’d give this author another read
This story was a good read and to see Tykey go from thug to a sappy romantic was good. This was the first story I've read by this author, however there were some grammatical errors where I felt the story was being rushed. I sympathize that Dahlia had to grow up fast to raise her baby sister all because their mom fell after losing their father. No child should have to endure that at such a young age and losing themselves all at the same time. Failure was not an option for Lia and she was determine to see that she and her sister never were separated with the help of Ms. Alisha who seem to also be their support system. I thought Tykey and Dahlia made a cute little couple.
Great read! It's a story that based on accountability, love and perseverance. Dahlia was thrusted in a parental role at very young age with the basic goal of seeing her sister graduate, go to college and become more than she was....which is a single parents mantra! To lose both parents and have no family support is difficult, but to overcome the odds is the feel good part. They and her had fireworks from beginning to end and to see their relationship evolve was humorous and somewhat expected since they are very different and also very similar at the same time. The story doesn't disappoint!
This was beautifully written and i enjoyed every moment of Tykey and Dahlia's friendship turned lovers story. A story of a young lady who was faced with taking on an adult role before she even had a chance to experience all the things teenagers do but she didnt let that stop her from achieving her goals all while falling in love with the one person she never thought would give her the time of day. I loved the character development and how real the story was. And that's what i like about the stories C. Monet writes. Great job.
Just to think 😉 they kind had a hate to Lover's type relationship became friends first then love came...
I do feel like her sister and Ty could have told her that they were messing around But I see he really loves her sister he moved with her so she can go to College also to give her sis the time to heal and to take care of herself!!!!
Dahlia &Tykee what's meant to be will be now they have new start I'm glad 😊 she went Aruba gave her time to think about everything and she missed him just as much!!!!
I ate this story up like a succulent treat. I rooted for Lia and Key. I wanted to see what they built from the rubble. This was a story that touched me because life has a way of throwing curve balls and that can leave you feeling staggered and unsure. To have someone return the love to Lia that she unselfishly have to her sister was endearing. We all aspire to have a love that enhances us and encourages us to be our best selves.
I came across this book scrolling through facebook and it caught my eye. Deciding to give it a chance, I began to read it. I am happy I did. Beautifully and well written, very descriptive, great character build-up and you could feel all the emotions. It was almost like you were there in the story. Loved the humor added too. I had a few good laughs. I highly recommend this author. I am glad I found her. I am a new fan.
My heart is so full of love right now! You Could do Damage is definitely one of my faves by C. Monet. All the the characters were so real life and relatable. Tykey and Dahlia was the cutest together. Tykey gave me butterflies.. he is bae allll day😍 The realness filled with passion throughout this book wouldn't let me put it down once I started reading it. Great read, and I highly recommend it to all readers!!!
I really took my time on this novel. I wanted to savor every message every emotion of the characters! And this has got to be one of my favorites. Dahlia is so strong and she is her sisters keeper. I could just relate to her so much! I loved the growth she had as a character. Tykey as well, from him going from an arrogant butthole to a loving partner willing to sacrifice himself to give Dahlia life..this one touched me! Absolute favorite!
Omg this was a perfect book! I love your writing style, the story flowed so perfect. It wast too fast or too slow. Dahlia and Key won me over. But it was Key who surprised me. His whole street dude persona but at the same time, he had feelings and showed his vulnerability and he wasnt afraid to show it. How he loved Dahlia was giving life. I cant wait to dive off in the rest of your catalog.
My first book from C. Monet and now I’m a fan. I started reading this book right after meeting her in person at the SHSK 90’s Mixer. She is such a VIBE with a great personality. A book filled with heartache, drama, and in the end, a passionate love that could withstand anything. An inspiration to show that anyone is capable of being loved, even when you think the odds are stacked up against you.
If you don't do anything else with your life, you better write! Honey, this book here is a gooddun lol! If you would've told me that things would work out for the good for Lia and them, I would've called you a liar. Awesome read! Great things are found in damaged packages. Just unwrap it with care.
My heart went out to Lia. She was put in a position no child should ever have to be. But with a friend like Ty he made sure she had. His mother stepped up also. She changed for the better for her and Deja. Keys knew in his heart she was it and he changed for a better man himself
Once again perfect penmanship brought to life! This storyplot was amazing and has profound meaning. Damaged can still be rectified and made into good as long as the person or people are willing to change and put in the work! This author definitely has a gift to write and I love her work!
Whew! This book was sooooo good. I literally couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I’m so happy that Dahlia finally got her happy ending. She’d spent so much time doing for others that she forgot about herself. Once they did get it together I loved how hard Tykey loved her and how he built her up. This was really a good book.
Poor Dahlia...damn al to often teenagers are forced to grow up before their time. I’m a icing witness to that. It makes you socially inept. Her and Key had a foundation. I can see both of their perspectives. I knew what wild happen because they never were precautious. Good job!’n
Who said a damaged person can't have their forever. Dahlia didn't have the best childhood but it didn't stop her from becoming. What better person to help her grow and build her up besides Tykey her childhood riival. I loved watching them grow despite the odds stacked against them.
This is my first book by this author, and I enjoyed reading it. Dahlia is a true survivor and she takes the bull by the horns to keep her sister and her afloat. She needs time to put herself first and that's what Key didn't really understand. I love their chemistry and how they went from enemies to lovers.
This was my first read by this author. I must say this story was perfect. I feel like I’m Dahlia I’m so many cases of her story. With the exception of a few errors C. Monet did an amazing job. The errors are the reason for the 4 stars otherwise this would have been an easy 5 stars.
A lot of stuff the editor should have caught. The story of Key and Lia has been told before - like most stories of course. There was nothing distinctive about these two from other similar books. It kept my attention enough to finish. I do want to read about Ty and Deja. I just think as characters those two are more interesting.
Life and it's struggles are wisely written and displayed within this book. Being strong enough to overcome the trials and tribulations were captured in these characters, plots, moods, and settings. I love when C. Monet allows us to visit previous characters lives. This book deserves 4.5 stars. This maybe my favorite! I Am So Proud of You! Well-written and Well Done!
Wow I really and truly enjoyed this book. You had me on edge at one point I didn't know if you was going to do me like the last book. But you came through now I can erase you off my list. 😆😆 Thank you for sharing your gift 🎁. Can't wait to see what's next.
I wish I could rate this book more than 5 stars! This was a page turner for real! C. Monet you did your thang with this one! This book reminded me that life is to short to let things stop you from getting your happily ever after! I loved it from beginning to end!
Great read. Glad things work out for Dahlia. She was a strong girl that turn into a grown woman at the age of 16. She raised her sister into a young lady as well. Looking forward to the next series with this author...,,,,,
Great Standalone.. Dahlia had to grow up to fast. I was hoping Ty got it right so him and Lia could be together. I’m glad he did and everything came together for their good.
Yessss i loved this story! Once i started i couldn’t put it down! I was so shocked when it came out about her sister and friend cuz i just knew they were gonna be together! You did good gurl and I’m loving these romantic stories ❤️
I loved everything about this story. God I was so engrossed in it!!! TyKey's character was a perfect recipe of yeeees!!! Loved Lia and how strong she was despite all that she had been through!! Amazing!
