"Time Will Tell" is Book 11 of A Hope Herring Mystery series, written beautifully by J. A. Whiting and Nell McCarthy. This episode is about Hope Herring going to Las Vegas for an Educational Conference. Before she goes on this week long trip, she and Cori have their usual cute back and forth banter session. These sessions are all in fun and there are some "teaching moments" that Hope gives her daughter. I'm sure every parent out there wishes they had a relationship with their teenager the way that Hope does with her daughter. Next, there are the conversations between Max, the ghost who lives in Hope and Cori's house. Hope tells Max that she's going yo Vegas for a conference and asks Max to watch over Cori. She tells him that she will email him and he can email her about how Cori is doing. Hope tells Cori that she needs to come to the house every day after school to check on Max and to feed their cat, Bijou. Hope is a teacher most if the time, but she also works as a baker on Saturdays. Her boss's name is Edsel, and these two ladies are also friends. Before Hope leaves for Vegas, she meets Edsel's niece, Tatiana, who is a fitness trainer from California, but is now living in Castle Park, North Carolina. While Hope is in Vegas, she reconnects with an old college roommate, who has drastically changed since their college days. There is an opening for future episodes with Giselle, maybe even in other series' by this author. About halfway through the week, Hope gets some disturbing news from Cori: Tatiana's house/fitness center was burned to the ground and Tatiana was in the house. Was this fire an accident? Or was it murder? And if it was murder, who would want to kill her? There are the usual and not so usual suspects, one of them being Cori's friend, Lottie's mother, Adele. But there are other suspects, as well, and when Hope returns to Castle Park, will she be able to clear Adele's name and bring Tatiana's killer to justice? And since Hope is investigating, along with Detective Robinson, will Hope also be in danger? Will she and Cori survive? Or will they, too, go up in flames? I love this series and its characters, but my favorite character is the ghost and how he always seems to pop into a new Internet costume at whim. I gave this episode a 5 star rating, and I recommend it to anyone who loves mystery, suspense, action, and a really good ghost story.
It's almost summer break, but Hope gets a chance to go to Las Vegas to a teacher's conference paid for by the board. Her daughter Cori stays with friends while she's gone. In Las Vegas, she meets a friend from college whose life turned out totally different from expectations. Once she's back home, she finds out that her bakery boss's niece has died in a fire. Hope takes up the case and finds the real killer.
You don't find out until nearly the end what going to Las Vegas has to do with anything that happens. I kept wondering what was the connection, but it is finally revealed.
It was okay book, but the killer was pretty obvious to me. I did like that Cori wanted to learn chess and expand her horizons. I also liked that Cori was also open to helping her friend Lottie with her sexual identity questions. To be honest in a the last few books, I'm liking the daughter more than the mom.

Great story and mystery. The intertwining of characters and the unforeseen actions and parts they played came together in a wonderful mystery solved, one that was not foreseen until the end. Which makes this story a favorite in a great series.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and for those who don't like mystery because it is a good series. What I like is the read and how fast it goes, no dislikes. It is a good read for all who loves series books.
Another excellent book. I have mentioned my addiction to the j a whitting mysteries in my previous reviews of her books. I will definitely keep reading these excellent books until they are complete. Then I will perhaps read all of them again.
This is the last book in the series. I enjoyed it as much as did the previous 10 books in this series. The plots have always been good as is the writing. (J.A. Whiting) is a very good writer.
