This is my third book in this series, and honestly it is the same rating for all of them so far. I know, I know... if I don't like them so much, then why to I keep reading them? Well, to be honest, I like the story, but the execution is what is lacking. There is soooo much potential in these books, that even though I am let down each time, I still keep coming back for more hoping against hope that magically the next one will fulfill my expectations.
This book was not it. A lot of the issues I had with the last book are also with this one. I went back to read my review of the last one, only to discover that it was missing, so I had to quickly re-type everything again, and hope I remembered it OK.
This one also focused too much on the relationship between the men, then seemed to add the woman in the relationship near the end. I get that she is their mate, but leaving her out of everything until the latter third (quarter?) of the book just frustrates me.
Not to mention, every other page seemed like it was the two guys having sex all over again. I have nothing against men having sex, but when that's all you are getting out of a book, it gets old.
Speaking of old, I got bored near the end of the book. After the (very quick) battle, I just quickly skimmed the pages because I just couldn't take it anymore. There is not enough depth to keep me engaged. Everything in here is missing so much background and information that could enrich everything, that all we are left with is the shallow one-note story.
I may or may not continue to the next book. (Let's be honest, I likely will and will be disappointed all over again). These are quick reads, but I definitely would not recommend them to others. There just isn't enough in there to recommend them.
