I read this with my Granddaughter and we both agreed Algernon is silly. We laughed when Algernon discovered chocolate covered ants which leads him on a quest to get more. His adventures and perseverance make a delightful story that we will read over and over again.

Algernon was a happy, normal Aardvark, wandering his territory and hunting for ant hills until a chance encounter with a jar of chocolate covered ants changed his life in this sweet, clever children's story by Patricia Moran. Children will love the irrepressible aardvark hand his determination to get what he wants, even if it means changing his way of life - and the adults in their life will appreciate a story that tells kids they can have what they want if they're willing to work for it.
I really enjoyed this one.

What a lovely story about perseverance in order to reach one’s goals. Cute and fun for many ages.
I especially loved the description of the McGruffy’s Reader holding up the sand on the back wall so it doesn’t get on the carpet in the burrow.
The lesson about shies coming true can still have strings attached to them is a good lesson!

I fell immediately in love with Algernon, his ingenuity, cleverness, and his drive to achieve his desires with a bit of a sense of humor added for good measure. It teaches the importance of following your dreams, pursuing your goals, reading, and never giving up. But also knowing that everything does have some drawbacks.

This short story is really cute and captures the imagination. My youngest nephew is a big fan of animals and I am looking forward to sharing the story with him.
Algernon is a memorable character with a love of chocolate ants that take him on quite the adventure. There is a wonderful feeling of accomplishment that comes through his adventures too. A story that you can enjoy no matter your age.

I just love Algeron and his love for chocolate covered ants. He didn’t care if they were regular ants or spicy ants. This short story is so cute with meaning of reaching goals. I love how the author put pictures in the book to engage children and readers the importance of achieving what’s truly important to him.

Algernon is a very ingenious anteater who happens upon a jar of chocolate covered ants. Upon opening them with his long sticky tongue he fell in love. There was little Algernon wouldn't do or learn in order to keep his supply. An adorable, witty, fun story for the young and young at heart.

This was an adorable story about a not-so-ordinary anteater named Algernon, who discovered a new food that turned his whole world upside down. It was fun to read and left me with a smile on my face. Nice job.
