Harem Hex Healer

Rate this book
Seven monsters, one curse, and a woman whose touch ignites more than just magic.

I’ve never been great with people—extreme agoraphobia, and social anxiety tends to do that to a girl. But everything changed the day I popped a questionable migraine pill and woke up in a world of magic, danger, and gorgeous monsters who are all obsessed with me.

Things were going pretty well for me in this new world until a sinister secret forced me out of my cushy bedchambers. Now, I must embark on a quest to save myself and the kingdom. I must find seven monsters and cure them of their curse through the power of my lovemaking. Together, we eight will overcome this great evil.

Harem Hex Healer is a why-choose/reverse harem fantasy romance. The FMC will have a HEA with multiple characters. Please view the content warnings at the beginning of the book or on the author’s website.

Imogen Knowed is a queer, AuDHD girly who hyperfocuses on creating fake people in her head. Instead of letting them stay in there, she writes them down for others to meet. She spends her days programming video games and her nights reading and writing smut. When she’s not writing smut or making video games, she’s hanging out with her family and pets (aka her “pack”).

If you're looking for a serious plot this anit it...if you're looking for smutty goodness with somewhat of a storyline this is your type of book.

The FMC laid down with a headache after taking a pill only to wake up in the forest. And this wasn't a place she recognize as she walks in the forest without shoes. Having a very intense conversation with herself she trips on a stick only to see she's surrounded by monsters of all sorts...who at the moment are all naked and aroused. She passes out and wakes in the arms of a fine prince who says he has saved her from the monsters. She is happy and a growing love for her prince as the months go on and realizes she is living a fairytale she always wanted. Until secrets bring the fairytale to a full stop. She's going to need the help of the monsters to save her from cruel fate. The FMC had that WAP ...she had that meow meow that made people act a fool and that's so powerful boom chicka wawah. This was smuttastic monster harem kink book and especially the cucumber move...wow...

I kept hoping this would get better and it just didn't...

Things that made this book 1⭐️:
-the constant random erections that EVERY guy in the kingdom would get from seeing the FMC (I was very uncomfortable everytime it was mentioned tbh)
-Selfish + Creepily Horny FMC
-poorly written dialogue
-just poor writing in general
-forced sex scenes (that there are way too many of)
-how the plot was constantly told to us instead of shown
-bad fat representation

They say never judge a book by it's cover. And that usually has to do with a boring looking book that's actually great, but this was the opposite for me. I saw a decent looking cover, it was a monster smut book, and I thought, "What the hell, I'll support this author and read their book."

And it turned out to be the worst decision I ever made.

I could tell from THE FIRST CHAPTER this was not going to be a good read in any sense of the word. The way the MC is thrown into the word is barely mentioned, as if the summary on the back is supposed to be enough for you. And then we spend half the chapter talking about how the character "doesn't know if this is a forest or the woods, but it's not a jungle because I know what that looks like." What???

Then, thankfully, every person that she's going to have to fuck later all circles around her, and instead of being fucking normal and trying to soothe this lost woman, we've got a circle jerk of erections and men talking so rough that our "heroine" is scared enough to run off. Thankfully a normal looking man on a horse is there to grab her after she falls and hits her head, and even though he's already throwing around red flag, we'll stick with him because he's a king and those can always be trusted.

"Well, the plot might not be good, but the smut is good, right?" NO. . The smut is written worse than middle schooler fanfiction. It's so cringy and I don't know how anyone can get hot to it. The author writes it and puts in some words they've seen from other smut reads, and even worse, adds random inner dialouge that has no business being in a scene. There's multiple, but the one that speaks the most in my mind is:

I reach back and press my fingers hard on my clit, forcefully rubbing them in a circular motion. I always think I could be an exellent DJ when I do this. DJ Queen Pussy would be my name. DJ stands for "disc jockey". Maybe it would be CJ Queen Pussy-C for Clit. God I'm cheesey. I bite and claw at the blankets. I wail out in pleasure as I actually come.

It boggles my mind that a single person thinks this is funny, clever, or hot. And there are worse scenes, but I won't put you through that torture.

The books spends too much time with the evil king until she's able to run away, pregnant, and find the first part of her harem. Thankfully, she smells so sensual and her smell alone is able to get them hard, because she'd be screwed otherwise. The rest of the book is dedicated to bad sex scenes, keeping with two or three of her harem before she has to rush to get to the others. And then after training for two weeks, they're able to storm the unguarded castle and kill the king after a bad villain monolouge and everyone lived happily ever after.

I plead that you never read this, unless you want to hurt afterwards. I guess it does its job since I will never forget it, but that doesn't mean that's a good thing. I hope the author is able to grow from this, evolve their writing, and come up with something far better than this.

Cute and Spicy just like I like it.

I really enjoyed the FMC’s inner conflict combined with the main plot conflict. Each of the harem members were alluring in their own ways and despite there being seven of them, each felt distinct.

I only wish there was a little more fluff about downtime and harem interactions, but that’s not what this book was about.

Overall ,I liked it and I’m excited to read whatever harem book Imogen puts out next.

a Raunchy Romp and Adventure!

Look, this was a fun magical, monster-full, mash of an adventure! It never slowed down and the spice scenes were both plentiful and varied! I had a lot of fun reading.

This is a perfect example of when someone shoots for quirky and ends up with annoying (or maybe insufferable is the better word). Her weird, unfunny little mental asides that derail EVERY sex scene. Her total disregard for the king being shitty to people (definition of the "oh no! anyway.." meme). The ironic thing is that the way she talks about herself coupled with the way she thinks about the other characters kind of makes her come across as skeevy and predatory. I'm also all for bi representation but the fmc had painfully little chemistry with other women. She spoke about them the way a 13 year old boy would and it was all very off-putting.

I very much enjoyed the book. I personally thought the last part of the book was rushed. I wish there was more detail like we had at the first half of the book. But I would love to see more books like this, and I would also love to see more of the characters. I do appreciate having the heroine be a bigger girl because a lot of time, we big girls aren't represented. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read.

Couldn't even finish it. The main h drives me insane and constantly thinks go herself about how shallow she is- doesn't ask about others, her new environment, constantly interrupted by male anatomy. There are small inconsistencies in the story that bother me too. Saying all a characters clothes are shredded, then how their pants have to be unbuckled. Small things that interrupt my mental picture.

3.5 stars. I feel like the beginning moved to slow, but the end moved way to fast. May have been better for me if it was split into two books. Still it was spicy. Had some interesting moments. Definitely monster smut. 8 creatures would be a lot for any one woman.

DNF... Why because she was 7-8 months pregnant, afraid of being outdoors, but she climbed out of a tower. There clearly is a limit to how much I can suspend my disbelief. This was it.
