Цьогоріч за святкове чтиво у мене віддувається одна-єдина книжечка-картинка, яку я придбала для 4-річної небоги.

"Семмі Котаус" — це історія про котика Санти, який - навіть не сумнівайтеся - врятує Різдво. Текст віршований і в доброму перекладі від Ганни Яновської + чарівні ілюстрації (багато бірюзи і яскраво-червоного). Мені дуже сподобалося, всі п'ять хвилин, що я читала цю книжечку.

"Ο γάτος των Χριστουγέννων" είναι ένα πανέξυπνο, αστείο και διασκεδαστικό παιδικό χριστουγεννιάτικο βιβλίο! Η αφήγησή του περιέχει ομοιοκαταληξία, μπόλικη περιπέτεια και πολλά αστεία σκηνικά! Η εικονογράφησή του είναι φοβερή και οφείλω να δώσω συγχαρητήρια και στις εκδόσεις Μεταίχμιο για την μετάφραση αυτού του βιβλίου! Θα ήταν σίγουρα δύσκολο να διατηρήσουν την ομοιοκαταληξία. Αξίζει σίγουρα να το διαβάσετε αν ψάχνετε για κάτι διασκεδαστικό.

Fluffy and adorable Sammy the cat thwarts thieves intent on stealing presents from Santa’s sleigh.
Told in verse with lively illustrations, Sammy is cute. The story’s light, but I’m bumping it to 4 stars cuz of Sammy.

Probably more like three stars, really, but I just cannot look at Sammy Claws on the cover and award it any less than four. He stole my heart! ;-) Also, I read this with my cat snuggled on my lap so the warm-fuzzies were in full force. Note that, for sensitive youngsters, this does contain some peril. First, Sammy Claws is accidentally wrapped into a present and sent off in Santa's sleigh and then he helps foil some robbers who are trying to steal Christmas presents after Santa delivers them. But, mostly it's very sweet.

"Sleepy old Sammy Claws, Santa's pet cat,
was furry and purr-y and fluffy and fat.
He liked nothing better than having a snooze
in a box ... or a cupboard... or snuggled in shoes.
And as Sammy dozed
he would dream of the day
that he'd travel with Santa
up high in his sleigh."

This was the first book of my little one's advent calendar and we absolutely loved it! The Greek translation was witty, funny and so sweet! We ended up calling every chubby cat in the block "Αφράτο" (transl. Fluffy). Needless to say, it has become one of our new favorite books and we have read it several times already!

Синочок обожнює розглядати сторінки книги, особливо ті, на яких є ілюстрації з падарунками🎁

Без перебільшення це одна з найкращих книг, яку можна було видати для діток!!

Sammy is the usual type of cat who loves naps. However, he wants to help Santa Claus deliver the presents. Through the usual cat nappery, he believes he misses his chance. However, he wakes in the sleigh and just in time to stop some hooligans from trying to rob Santa! The results are consequential and just right. I great adventurous read for Christmas.

For some, any Christmas-themed book will be a hit.
For some, any picture book with a bad pun in the title will be a hit. A pun like "Claws" instead of "Claus."
For me, this book strains credulity in every way. But that's just me.

In this book of the Sammy Claws series, the cute cat finds himself wrapped up as a Christmas parcel and bundled onto the sleigh with the other presents. How will he escape?

The presents went flying -- oops! -- past Santa's head.

Sure it could happen . . . in the world of kid's publishing. Where new concepts, no matter how preposterous, may seem NEW and FRESH. And like just the thing for a series of Big-Selling Books.

RATING THIS BOOK

My policy is to rate books from the perspective of intended readers. Seems to me, these would be very young youngsters who like pretty pictures in dreamy pastels. And prefer just enough adventure. Kids with the sense of hilarity-humor that sits well with a three-year-old.

I will always appreciate a well-rhymed book. I was thinking when I saw this book, gosh, there are other Christmas cat books, so what's going to make this one stand apart? But it is totally different than any Christmas books I've ever read. Like I said, the rhymes work. The illustrations are great because the cat has lots of expressions. It's overall a cute story and I really liked the illustrations. I'm actually going to go find some other Paula Bowles' illustrated books.

Sammy Claws sleeps everywhere, but when he falls asleep on Christmas Eve it means that Christmas is almost ruined! Can Sammy save the day, or will he snooze through it? Absolutely perfect for cat lovers of all ages. I'm not a huge cat fan, and even I found myself rooting for Sammy by the end of the book. It helps that the illustrations are painfully adorable - can you think of a cuter picture book cover?

My Review: Of course we had to pick up this book since our new cat shares the name. This was a very cute story that captures a cat's personality so well. From being loving and a little frisky and a little lazy but also super loyal and loving. Sammy had quite the adventure and it would be a fun book for littles to enjoy during the holiday season. The illustrations were great and full of bright and bold colors. This is definitely a book for cat lovers!

Siendo una Crazy Cat Lady que puedo decir jajajaja la idea de que Santa tenga un gato por mascota, me encantó.
Es un libro sencillo con ilustraciones muy bonitas que ayuda a los pequeños a practicar la lectura y el idioma inglés, puede ser un poco enredado en algunos párrafos por las rimas, pero nada que no pueda ser explicado de manera sencilla a los pequeños.

Fun picture book that tells the tale of how Sammy Paws foiled the plans of some robbers who were looking to steal the presents Santa was delivering. Jolly rhyming text and very colourful illustrations add to the char, would be a delightful book to read aloud to young children.

This is a very fun story following Santa's cat Sammy and his adventure on Christmas Eve. From a sleepy kitty who overslept to the one who saved Christmas! Sammy has quite the adventure told in a very fun rhyme. The illustrations are adorable and show a lot of movement to help tell the story, and my daughter (5) very much enjoys reading this book with me.
